I am trying to burn a basic DVD in DVDSp 4.0,

Here is the message I am getting...The Build Location folder contains a HVDVD_TS folder(HD DVD content).  You must remove the HVDVD_TS folder from the Build Location in order to proceed with Build/Format of a Standard DVD project.
Not sure how or why.  If anyone has had this issue, please tell me how to resolve it.
Thanks.
The video piece is about 1hr and 30 minutes...cut into 2 segments.  SOmehow, it seems that one of the segments is SD and the other is HD.  I crearted the video in FCP 6.06
Thanks.
MArk

I actually had to go into my preferences...discard the HVDVD_TS folder and it worked fine.
Thanks for your offers.

I'm trying to burn a Magic DVD in iDVD and I keep getting a message stating that there is not enough free disc space for encoding the remaining assets. How do I resolve this?

It means your hard drive is too full to accomodate the project and its many swap files etc.
You need to move some files (not applications) to your external hard drive, and keep at least 25-30GB free.

  • Troubles When Trying to Burn Dual Layer DVD's

I'm not having any success when trying to burn to DL DVD's.
I've tried two brands, same results.
I have a mid-2009 macbook pro, which supports DL burning accourding to system settings:
    MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-868:
    Firmware revision: KB19
    DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
Every time I attempt to burn (I've tried both Disk Utility when trying to burn an ISO, and the application "BURN" when trying to just burn data files)
I see it "writing" for a few seconds and then it says "finishing"
Then after it does that for a while I get the error:
"Unable to burn ... (The disc drive didn't respond properly and can't recover or retry.)
I can burn single layer dvd's just fine, wasted one just now to make sure my drive didn't go crazy.

Besides the brands, the writter can sometime makes the differnce.  Memorex, Verbatim and many other name brands are actually made by the same OEM company in Taiwn, CMC I believe.
Check also the layer break point.  If set incorrectly, your discs will end up to be coaster anyway.  Check this article see if it helps.

  • I have a ProRes HD mov file I'm trying to burn onto a DVD.

FYI, I'm using Final Cut Pro 7, not X.
I'm trying to burn onto a DVD a ProRes .mov. It want it to be first play. I've tried the compressing the format the MPEG2 and AC3...I still get the "Support not available" when trying to play it.
Am I missing something? Are my settings not correct in DVD Studio Pro? Am I not using the correct output formats?? What am I doing wrong?

  • ITunes Backup trying to burn to wrong DVD burner

My MacBook Pro has a built-in DVD writer (which I have not had success using lately) and I also just purchased a Samsung SE-S084D External USB DVD Writer, because of my trouble burning DVDs with the internal drive.
I've got the Samsung burner connected and when I insert a blank disc, I get the pop-up from the OS that asks if I want to launch Finder, iTunes, etc. I can burn files to the drive from Finder (at 6X) just fine. iTunes however...
I have iTunes 10.1.1 (4). I go to File | Library | Back Up to Disc... In the window that comes up, it lets me choose one of the two DVD burners:
    MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E
    TSSTcorp CDDVDW SE-S084D
Clearly the first is the internal drive and the second is the Samsung USB external drive.
If I set it to the second one (the external drive), then iTunes gets stuck on "Please insert a blank disc...". I've tried ejecting and reinserting the disc, inserting the disc before starting iTunes, etc. Nothing works. Then on a whim I wondered if it was really using the drive that I told it to use. So I tried to do another burn to the EXTERNAL drive and when it said "Please insert a blank disc...", I put a disc in the INTERNAL drive. Voila! The message went away and iTunes proceeded to attempt to burn using the internal drive, which failed in a minute or two (which is the reason why I bought the external DVD writer in the first place!).
I tried many times and even though I choose "TSSTcorp CDDVDW SE-S084D", iTunes keeps trying to use the internal drive. Then I wondered if iTunes perhaps was displaying the wrong labels for the drives, so I tried to instead selecting "MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E", hoping that iTunes would use the external drive. No dice. iTunes still used the internal drive. By the way, the Samsung shipped with the TS00 version of the firmware - I upgraded the firmware to version TS01 (the latest), but that didn't help with my iTunes problem.
So it seems to me that I have stumbled on a bug where iTunes DVD burning doesn't work properly on a system with multiple DVD writers. In the GUI, it offers a choice of DVD writers, but this seems to have no effect.
    Can anyone verify this?
I suppose if I get desperate, I could try opening up the MacBook Pro and disconnecting the cable from the internal drive, on the hope that iTunes would then only one see DVD writer and would hopefully not get confused. That's pretty extreme though and I'd rather not open up the computer just to test out a theory.
Known issue? Can anyone verify this? Any other ideas for a software method for convincing iTunes to use the external DVD writer?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Marc

I use the console to watch for errors when burning CDs. The console can be found in the utilities directory under applications. I also use the system profiler to see if it reports the second drive seeing the empty disk, however your comment about being able to write playlist info says its seeing it and writing to the usb disk.
It maybe that iTunes doesn't support the USB DVD drive you have, or try moving to another USB port, preferable a high speed port, usb2. Again watch the console for messages being reported during the burn, buffer under or over runs, or read/write errors.
For the internal drive issue, either a bad or broken drive. One last thing to check is disk space, make sure it has more than 10% of free space left. If the drive is close to full, it could cause similar issues as you report.
    Good luck

  • Sense Error Message when trying to burn Dual-Layer DVDs?

    Hey all,
I am trying to burn a dual-layer DVD disc with the internal drive in my MacBook Pro.
I am getting the same error message from Toast each time I try to burn a disc. I get no response from Disk Utility (it just says "waiting for the disc drive") and Finder doesn't recognize the dual-layer disc when I try to burn in Finder.
I've heard that it may be a media issue, so I've tried with every single brand of DVDs that I can get my hands on. So far, I've tried Verbatim, Sony, and Memorex. I can't find any other brands of media, even at Best Buy?
I've heard that it may be a security update that might have caused this issue. System Profiler says that my machine can burn both DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL.
    What is going on?!??

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The two most common suggestions are (a) try other media, which you've done (and Verbatim normally work) and (b) run a DVD Lens Cleaner disc through it to see if some dirt or dust on the lens it causing the problem. If this doesn't fix it then it sounds like a hardware fault and best to let Apple check it out.

  • Error when trying to burn a Data DVD

Whenever I try to burn a Data DVD I get the same error - "The items in this playlist will not fit on one data disc." The playlist in question is 2.88gb, well under the 4.3gb limit. Is this a known issue? I remember an older version of iTunes would do something similar to this, but I thought that was corrected.
iTunes 7.7.1, MacBook 1.83ghz Core Duo, 2gb RAM, MacOS X 10.5.4 (fresh install, not one week old) and an LG DVD-RW GH22LP20 burner, which is BRAND new, just got it an hour ago to replace a failing Pioneer unit which would no longer burn DVDs.
Also, how do I get iTunes to stop asking me if I'm sure I want to burn a Data DVD? Of course I'm sure! That's why I'm doing it!

I don't know why you are getting that error, but one work around might be to put the blank in, let it mount on your desktop, then simply do a Select All on the playlist and drag and drop them to the DVD icon on the desktop. After the Mac finished make a cache file of everything, when you drag the DVD towards the trash it should turn into a BURN icon.

  • Backup on CD/DVD wont work. crashes when it tries to burn 1. DVD

i tried it several times, but it wont work. if i start itunes tells me that it needs 4 DVDs to backup the whole library. so i put in the first one. the process collects informations and then writes the first DVD. then the burning process starts but windows shows up a messege that iTunes occured an error and had to be shut down. no more explantations.
now i reinstalled my windows xp and itunes so that i have a new clean system. i copied the library from a external HD. i tried it again but still, the error comes.
i have about 3.600 songs in my library, no other stuff. i used a 16 x DVD+R disc for burning. i also burned other stuff with other tools on this type of DVD so it seems not to be a hardware problem.
please, that exporting to DVD thin is the only way to properly transport my library to my new iMac. copiyng it with an external HD wont work so this is the only thing i can do.

nobody? meanwhile i retried the process but this time i choose CDs instead of DVDs. it took me a bunch of CDs but at least it worked. BUT after reimport in the Mac iTunes all the coverpics from my own imported cd's where gone. why is that so!? downloaded songs' covers are still there.

  • I get error code 0x8002006D when trying to burn images to dvd

I purchased some Verbatim DvD-r's from the Apple store; I made an iPhoto burn that worked fine. However, I need a disk that I can open with anything, for archival purposes. I exported to an external HD, as well as to the disk itself from iPhoto, but I keep getting the error code. ANy ideas? Thanks!

2 things there is Media available but you must be careful to read the packaging carefully.
16X Maxell DVD-R reads that it will burn at 1X,2X,4X,8X, and 16X.
Next there is a huge difference in Quality of the Media you purchase.
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
As you see the Maxell is one of the highest in Quality.
My advise is to always go for quality over price (cheaper) is one of the largest causes of burning problems.
Another important thing to remember is DVD-R Media is the most widely used and recognised by the majority of computers (especially the older ones).
    http://www.videohelp.com/dvd
Please understand there is not only a big difference in the Optical Drives installed in the different Apple Computers, but the Media, Speed and Format they are capable of using. This is the reason For the Media I suggest.
It covers the correct format but covers the speed problem as well, for older and newer burners as well.

  • I'm trying to burn a clear dvd

I'm using premiere elements 11 and a 1 yr. old mac desktop. When i burn a dvd it is barely watchable due to blurryness. The videos were shot in hd and playback beautifully on an hd tv hard wired from the cam but turn out blurry when burned to dvd. Also the vids are blurry in the editing window of premiere elements 11 as i edit them. The clips are showing up in the program as mts files if that helps. the cam is a cannon vixia hfg10. Any help appreciated. And by the way i'm a very inexperianced video editor. I have done some editing in imovie which came out well however since loading premiere elements 11 the camera is no longer recognized in i movie.

    drslyr
From what I have read of your Canon HF G10, it records 1080p60 with non standard AVCHD.with a .mts file extension.
    http://community.active.com/thread/282491
Are you converting the camera's output to another fo format (.mov/mpg) before importing into Premiere Elements 11 Mac.
(Are you using Adobe Premiere Elements 11 Editor from the Mac App Store?)
And, putting aside the "non standard AVCHD" aspects of the matter, what project preset are you using
    NTSC
    AVCHD
    AVCHD 1080p60
    as something else?
See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readouts for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio.
When you look at the preview in the Edit area monitor, do you see an orange line above the Expert workspace Timeline content? If so, do you get an improvement in what you are seeing in the monitor if you press the Enter key of the computer main keyboard to get the best possible preview?
    Lots of other questions...
    a. Video card up to date?
    b. Computer optimization
    c. other
But let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thanks.

  • I am trying to burn a long DVD through iDVD.

The project is in iMovie and is 2hrs 11m long.
iDVD requests I cut the project but I can't cut anymore out.
I have previously burnt a DVD at 2hrs 4m and this was fine.
    I am using OSX 10.8.3.
I do not have a DVD player that is compatible for Dual Layer DVDs so would like to fit it onto a single layer.
Is there anything I can do?

Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
Note:  if you have problems creating a good disk image of the DL project just burn directly to disk.  I vaguely recall some issues with successful burning  DL disk images.  Maybe Ziatron has a better memory than I.

  • Trying to burn an old dvd project

I have a project from many years ago, which included a main video, some extras, and a slideshow.  There is music on the menu screen as well.
I get this error message:  "There were errors during the project validation that have to be fixed before burning the project."
When I open the little triangle in the dialog box, it says, "there appears to be a broken asset in your project".  But when I go to the DVD map, everything appears to be there.  I can put the project in motion and all of the buttons work.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Delete the encoded assets
and then save the project as a disk image
by following this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.

  • Chapter Markers won't show up on Chapter Menu when trying to burn a DVD.

    Help,
Trying to burn an SD DVD disc in FCP X from the Share menu.  I've set Orange Chapter Markers with Titles in my project from the timeline and these don't appear when I check the box to use chapter markers for Subtitles in the Destinations box to burn a DVD.  I've set a photo in the main menu and it appears with the Title of my Project, but in the Chapter Menu it only shows the default list of Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc.  Shouldn't my Chapters show up on the list after they've been set up on my timeline in the project?  Also, I tried burning a disc with my Chapters not showing up on the chapter list and my disc only plays from the Main menu where the picture is inserted.  There's a slash line in the Chapter list button stating I can't use that option and I can't play chapters.  Trying to get this project out the door before January 20, 2013.  Can someone please help?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Can you post some screen shots? The chapter marker dialog box in the timeline. The DVD menu.
    What's playing back the DVD?
Have you tried it without the background image? Build a disk image rather than burn a disc.
