iDVD can only use your startup hard disk for the "scratch space" it needs for calculations during the encoding process. 25 GB is a good average requirement, but a large project (3 or 4 hours of content) might require more.
To free up space, you will have to move items to an external hard drive and/or delete items you no longer want.
Please note that iDVD can't use and external hard drive for this "scratch space".

Not enough space to install Mavericks-how do I free up space and continue the install? Help!
I tried to install Mavericks but shortly after the installation initialized I got a message saying that I didn't have enough space to complete the install. It asked to free up just under 1 MB of space...but I cannot get access to my hard drive. When the computer turns on, it loads the OS X utilities screen with the following options
1 Windows
2 OS X INstaller
3 Recovery
So, I cannot access the MAC HD to free up space or complete the install. I am stressing that I am going to lose all of my data on my hard drive! Please help!
P.S We have boot camp and that works fine but cannot gain access to the MAC drive.OPTION boot to select your OS X partition:
Boot Using OPTION key:
1. Restart the computer.
2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
"OPTION" key.
3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.
4. Select the desired disk icon from which you want to boot.
5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.
If you have no OS X volume showing, then you are in deep doo-doo. You will need to erase the OS X volume and reinstall OS X. This would be done from the Recovery HD which you said was an available boot option.
Install or Reinstall Mavericks or Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -
Hi All, I reluctantly upgraded to IOS 7.1.1 on my IPAD last night , reluctant as every upgrade which promises fixes which dont impact me causes problems that do , which I fix via this community. Today I can no longer access my WIFI at home, my non Apple devices all work fine.I have tried all the online suggestions I can find for this, reset facgtory settings, it will not allow me to 'forget this network', I try to reconnect and it asks for my password which I know is correct and it says it cannot access my network. It can access an unsecured one I believe, but that is not ideal. Any fresh suggestions would be really welcome, please. Many thanks

I keep having this message when I try to burn\enconde\build a DVD with DVDSP 4, I'm setting the Build folder in a external hard drive with 300Gigas free, so for sure is not the porblem...

I found this in a 2-pop forum - it may be the solution...
"Are you both using the DVDSP Background encoder? If so, make sure the *DESTINATIONS PREFERENCE for ENCODING is pointing to the disk drive that actually HAS the free space* - normally, it points to the SAME FOLDER where the asset is living. If you're short on space on that drive, that will trigger the condition you describe... - always maintain this free space " -

Attempting to build a DVD project, but I keep getting an error that there's insufficient disk space. There's almost 50GB free on the drive. What gives?
Permissions should be fine, considering I burned a DVD not more than 6 days ago, same drive.
I import video from my camcorder, create a menu screen, import the screen and video into DVD Studio Pro 3, build the project, then burn to DVD with Toast (I never have been able to burn straight from DVD Studio Pro for some strange reason)
But as of yesterday, DVD Studio Pro tells me there's not enough disk space to Encode the files. The full DVD is only 3.9 GB, and with 49 GB of empty disk space on the hard drive, that should be more than enough room to build!!! -

The app is compressed and needs swap space to install. As a rule of thumb you need 3 times the listed size of the app available, or in your case 4.6GB. You only have 1.7GB.

It's completely the same, and you can change language and keyboard when he uses it. It will ask him for the language, so choose Spanish

It means your hard drive is too full to accomodate the project and its many swap files etc.
You need to move some files (not applications) to your external hard drive, and keep at least 25-30GB free. -

iDVD do not copy Your material - only points to where it is stored. So if on any external hard disks, USB-memories, CDs or DVDs are missing - assetts are broken.
Or if You changed location of any material or directed iPhoto or iTunes or GarageBand to a new Library - Then iMovie/iDVD also get's lost.

Regarding FCE, there is no way to download & install the product. You need an original FCE install disk and your FCE serial number.
Final Cut Pro X (aka FCPX) can be purchased & downloaded from the App Store. -
I tried to burn a DVD using iDVD after upgrading to Maverick, first time I tried after upgrading to Maverick a few weeks ago. It seems to get stuck at encoding menu stage and not doing anything. Does anyone else have the same problem?
I did not have a DVD handy to burn but I have just created a small 2 minute video and created a Disk Image and also a VIDEO_TS folder, the encoding worked correctly, so it works with some items.

I am trying to do some graphic work in InDesign 2.0 and I cannot find the "eurofurence light" which is a True Type Font. My computer is running Windows Vista. I have installed the fonts into Windows Fonts at C:\Windows\Fonts Microsoft Word has the f
