I am trying to change my admin password to my macbook. I have leopard 10.5 and don't remember my old password. Any suggestions.

I can't change my admin password on my macbook without knowing my old password. I don't remember my old password hence the reason I need to change my password. I'm trying to update my software from leopard to snow leopard and so on, but need my password to install new software. Apple support can't assist me because my operating system is prehistoric. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Boot your MacBook using the original disk that came with it. Proceed past the languages window and on the next window click on the utilties menu and select Reset Password. It should be fairly obvious what to do next?
If you don't have the original disk but do have a snow leopard disk (must be the generic one) then use the same procedure.
I'm surprised Apple said they could not help you because your OS is prehistoric? Does not sound like Apple to me? Least they could have done was to point you to this Apple support article:

You cannot merge accounts.
You need to sign into the old account on your computer.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

I'm trying to install a program update and the password that I thought I set isn't working. I don't have any start-up disk and need help resetting the password.

Here's one method to reset the password without the install disc:
1. boot computer and hold the "apple" key and the "s" key.
2. wait for terminal show
3. release keys
4. type without the quotes: "/sbin/mount -uaw"
5. press enter
6. type without the quotes: "rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
7. press enter
8. type without the quotes: "reboot"
9. press enter
This will let you create a new admin account when you reboot your computer.
Also, without the discs, look at Mac OS X Tip - No Password, No Root, No CD? No Problem.

Here is a way to get around not knowing the admin password on Macs.
To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
   1. Reboot
   2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
   3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
          * mount -uw /
          * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
          * shutdown -h now
   4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!

How do I change my icloud email when don't know the old password after I have changed my apple ID email address and the password? icloud is still online with my old email address!!!

I got a new phone but backed it up through my itunes, and when I tried to use icloud it kept telling me I have forgotten my password, when I really really didn't. So I went to settings > itunes&appstore and changed my password, but also changed the email address too while I was at it, since I've always wanted to change it. But now here's the problem. My iphone's icloud is currently logged in with my old apple ID email address, which seems to not work with the new password, so I can't log it or even delete the account off my iphone. I logged in changed the primary E-Mail address to a different one, vertified it then tried to log in it said either to send an E-Mail to veritify again or to do my security questions, so I choose to do the security questions and put in my Birthday like it asked and it said that it was wrong and I had to authenticate it to get in, why is it so hard to just set up a Apple ID really though!

I really can't comprehend the logic that leads to believe that password for old apple id will come to e-mail for new id. Buy may be I just misunderstood something. Contact Apple for assist with password retrieval. If you can verify yourself as account owner they may be able to help you.
