I am trying to do voice over of my clips
Hello. I am trying to do voice over for my clips, but when I use the voice over tool, the audio is really low - unusable. I just need a way to use a mic through a Mackie to capture my voice over.
That isn't how you do VO. You need to open the VO TOOL.
What I do is make a new sequence, lay down about 10-20 min of slug and then use the VO tool to record VO. FCPs VO tool wants to lay down audio onto a timeline, instead of recording it as audio only via the capture tool (Like we do with Avid). After I record the VO, I drag the audio clip from the timeline to my bin where it shows up as a clip.

I'm trying to trigger voice over audio with markers in a Edge timeline.
I’m working on 4 instructional videos.
Audio was not part of the initial plan, but it is now.

I’m trying to sync the audio to the sections of the instructional video.
There are 5 sections in the video; each can be triggered by a click. The play and pause buttons also work.on the button element that you use to pause the animation, you can have the audio pause as well.
you might try something like the following:
var myaudio = new Audio();
myaudio.src = 'narration.wav';
myaudio.pause();
or with an audio tag such as <audio id="soundfile">, you can use:
myaudio = $('soundfile');
myaudio.pause();
for the timeline, you can use sym.stop();
that way, when one pauses, the other one does also.
to autostart, set a trigger at 0ms on your timeline, then in the editor, put:
var myaudio = new Audio();
myaudio.src = 'narration.wav';
myaudio.play();

Voice over won't install. please help
I am trying to activate voice over on my new shuffle 3rd gen and when I click apply, i get the following error message:
"The voice over kit could not be installed because the signature file was invalid".
Please can someone help with this?just go to control panel and click on iTunes in 'uninstall a program' and click 'change' then 'repair'. This is what worked for me cos I had the same problem

I have been trying to export a keynote powerpoint with voice over to quick time. It keeps crashing. Can anything be done?
Can you explain this better, there appears to be a strange work flow going on, have you imported PowerPoint into Keynote or you are trying to export to PowerPoint?
There are many users who have trouble with a recorded voice over going to Quicktime.
Try this repair, its sorted out many similar problems in the past.
Complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote by using Appcleaner from Mac Update to do this, its freeware
2 restart the Mac; Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Is there some reason you have not updated PPro 5.0 to the latest version?

I accidently turned voice over on,I've tried triple clicking the home button to bring up voice over options but doesn't work. I can't scroll down to get to Accesibility in genereal even with three fingers.

I am trying to record a voice over in my imovie project
I was always able to record a voice over in imovie in the past, but on my most recent project which has 240 photos in it and a little video, I am no longer able to record voice over. I was able to record voice over for a little bit, but then it stopped working. I tried going on another project and was able to record a voice over. I am thinking that the problem may be that the project is too big. What do you guys think?

ok so this is what i did i finally got it to work...so i taped the black screen with 3 fingers and then it went back to normal and it ****** me off because i had tryed that already so when it goes back to normal even if the voice over is still on it is easy to turn it off if you follow the steps....lol i googled how to turn off voice over so google it

I am not able to turn off voice over. I have tried to do settings -> General -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver and then triple clicked it but the VoiceOver won't turn off. What can I do? I have even tried to reset the machine keeping the data, no use.
A few people have reported problems with the hand gestures since IOS 8. It's not normal, I have don't have the problem on my iPad 4. I doubt it's a major problem but if it happens regularly I'd have it checked out by the Genius bar at the Apple Store.

I'm trying to record a voice over using a focus rite scarlett 2i2 and a mic. when I record, it only plays on the left speaker. how do I record in both channels and not just the left one?
If you are recordind a voice over it will be in mono so it will only be recorded on a single mono channel. If you want to hear it out of both speakers you will have to pan that channel to the centre.

Connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer.
Under the Summary tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes, at the bottom select Configure Universal Access. Turn it off there and select OK.
