I think you've misunderstood.
iTunes ONLY works on the C drive. There is no moving it. End of discussion.
The MEDIA can be house on any other drive (internal or external).
Install iTunes correctly using the default options.
Once it is installed and working correctly with everything on the C drive, close iTunes.
Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364 to move the iTunes media folder.

I tried to download ios6 onto my ipad 2 but it failed.

So this morning i tried to download iOS 6 onto my iPad 2.
It was downloading fine but then once it finished, it turned itself off.
I gave it a few minutes, thinking it was just rebooting itself and then after ten minutes when nothing had happened i held down the lock button to turn it on again.
Then a screen came up showing the usb cable pointing to the itunes symbol.
So i plugged it into my computer and tried to connect it to my itunes.
A message popped up saying that itunes couldn't connect with a ipad in recovery mode and that i would have to restore it. But by restoring it, i have to lose everything that is on there which is like 11GB of pictures, music and apps.
Do i really have to lose everything? or is there something i can do?

This is the error message I get saying the internet is not on, but clearly as I can send this message it has to be:

I am connected through Wi-fi if that makes a difference.

I had the same problem! I don't know what caused it, possibly slow Internet but I suppose my antivirus or other software could have affected it. Maybe it's an iTunes problem.
After restarting the download at least 5 times in iTunes after it timed out, I found this website. I didn't know this before, but you can download the update in your browser and then apply it to your iPhone in iTunes once it finishes. I used Firefox 4 and it downloaded without timing out once. All you have to do is hold down Shift and then click on Update in iTunes and it will prompt you to select the update that you downloaded and it will apply it.

Downloaded IOS8 and now my iPhone AND MacBook keep timing out. HELP!

Im having a problem with my Phone and Computer timing out after trying the developer ios8! i dont know what happened ;( its a brand new macbook pro with retina and iphone 5s!

This is a HUGE bug and an incredible embarassment for Apple. I had the same problem has many-transfer of data (music) hung on the last step. Don't waste your time...it won't transfer. I tried everything I could for 8 hours. Next day went to Genius Bar (this was only 3 days after 1os 8 release). Replicated problem for Genius. He couldn't figure it out. We googled so I could show him it was a widespread problem. He was honest-he said this is the biggest bug he has ever seen and Apple has to be working on an update via itunes or iOS. Still no word, and the os has been out almost a week.
Ok..everybody screws up. But Apple isn't even admitting this is their problem, that they are trying to fix it, and they will issue a patch. Complete silence. That is incredibly bad business.
They will release a patch eventually, but they won't talk about this huge screw up that should easily have been picked up.

Connect the iPod to its syncing computer. Let it charge for 1/2 hour . If iTunes sees the iPod restore it via iTunes
Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible in iTunes so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

How do I update my iphone 3gs with v4.3.3? Ihave tried 3 times but it keeps timing out.

Whenever I connect my 3gs to the desktop, I receive a message saying that there is a new version of software (v 4.3.3) available for downloading. On 3 separate occasions I have downloaded the software, which has taken in excess of 3 hours, only to find that there has been an error - 'download failed as session timed out'.
Any idea how to overcome the problem?

Most common cause of this is security software on your computer: Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, Firewalls. So, disable all of that stuff & try again.
