I am trying to download Silverlight to use Netflix, however I just get a silverlight_developer.pkg that opens in Terminal and nothing happens.
I have Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 and I'm having trouble downloading Silverlight to watch Netflix. I've tried several different ways from researching online. It just downloads a silverlight_developer.pkg and when I open it it opens in Terminal and says Silverlight_Developer.pkg-bash-80x24. I'm not a computer genius so I don't knwo what any of this means, but I knwo its not right. Please help!!

Further to this original post --- OK, I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program, to no avail. I did however get a message which I had gotten before but since I was not yet aware that the program got installed with any problems, I had not noticed... This time I took notice. The error message was clearly what it is about, at least to a great extent. I got this message: Warning 20225: Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item: Adobe PDF Port Printer may be unavailable. GetLastError: The operation completed successfully. So then after the reinstallation, I went into Control Panel, Printers & Drivers and made a valiant attempt to manually install a virtual printer port. I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional installed in another computer on which I have Windows XP Pro (yes the only other computer-- I am permitted two installations for this program-- I confirmed this with Adobe), by looking at Properties and copying down exactly the text, etc. which described the names of the two possible ports, etc. Tried to "tell" my new computer (the one which has Windows 7) that it should set up and/or look for such a virtual port, again to no avail. I am amazed that Adobe does not allow me to even pay cash money for tech support, but they wouldn't do it. I guess you can have just so many employees who know the programs, etc. Anyway, as I said before I may just break down and buy the 9.0 version which the Adobe techie told me is indeed compatable with Windows 7. He did not tell me that Windows 7 was incompatible with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional but that 8.0 is indeed incompatible. Just googled the term "Warning 20225" along with some relevant buzz words. I can see there is still a bit of tweaking I may be able to do before I cry "uncle!"

I have a Mac Pro using OSX 10.7.4. When using apple mail I click on the address icon to obtain email address and nothing happens. I've restarted both the application and the Mac but still won't open address book. Any ideas please.
Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account. -

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I am running OS X Lion 10.7.5 and trying to download a free upgrade to OS X Mavericks. When I click on the download button nothing seems to happen. I realize it takes some time to download but I do not see the status of it slowly downloading. I shut my computer down and rebooted and tried again with no success. The system (computer) requirements for Mavericks are posted on the web site. If your computer will handle it, you can update directly from OS X 10.7.

When trying to install the OS X 10.7.5 update, all i see is a grey screen with the software bar on top, nothing happens,it is supposed to install then restart! Any clues as to why this is happening?
The startyp disk may need repairing.
Restart while holding down the Command + R keys.

about a month ago i tried updating 10.6 but it wouldnt work, so i then uninstalled itunes and ever since then i havent been able to reinstall it. i read somewhere online that i need to "check my disc" on my computer. i did that about 10 minutes ago and i still am having troubled. i really need help!

Hi, every time i try downloading ios5 it reaches 100% and then the connection times out and nothing happens after that; though the internet connection is fine as i can access other sites etc. what could be the problem?i tried using 2 different modems. I have an Iphone 5 and used to download applications from the Apple store but now i couldn't download any thing although it seems that it trying to download and gives " waiting Icon " and nothing happened although there is about 9.4 Gb available space

I've tried downloading using both IE and Chrome, get all the usual processes you'd expect to install correctly, at the end I leave the box ticked for automatic startup but it doesn't start. The quickstart icon is installed on my desktop, but when I click on it it still doesn't start. When I start to delete it and re-install I always get a message saying that it's running and I have to close it down first, so it clearly thinks it's running, but there's no evidence of that. I've used earlier versions with absolutely no problem, just Firefox 4 won't perform.
Ok after doing some research, I came up with a solution. I'm sure the original poster has already figured something out, as it was like three months ago, but I wanted to post this anyway, for someone else that may come across this same problem. I went into my task manager (control, alt, delete) and went into processes. Look for 'firefox.exe' If you see it, end the process. Then try and run the install again. This fixed it for me, hopefully it will help somene else too.

I'm trying to download the trial version of Adobe Illustrator. An error message says that the OS does not meet the minimum system requirements for the installer. 10.6.0 is the minimum required for installation. How do I get my mac to be a 10.6.0 ? Right now I have a 10.5.8 is there a way to upgrade or something?

That will take you to 10.6.3.
If required you can then use the combo updater to get to the latest version, 10.6.8 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399)

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:
