Hi there, traveling through Italy with my iPad. Purchased a unlimited prepaid data plan with Italian carrier WIND. Has been working excellent, but when I try to download a new episode of Game of Thrones, I get an error message which says that I have to connect to a wi fi network or download the episode on my MacBook. Why can't I download using the microsim and prepaid data plan? Any help will be great thank you!

Unfortunately downloads larger than 20mbps require wifi due to most carriers having data limits. This "requirement" keeps people who are not familiar with data and what takes up a lot of data from going over.

I seem to recall that this may be cause by overloading the USB bus (lack of power to go around). Shut down your computer. Reset the iPod shuffle using this procedure.

Disconnect ALL peripheral USB devices, including keyboard and mouse. Power up the computer. If you need your mouse, connect it and launch iTunes. Connect the iPod shuffle to a direct USB port and try the sync again. See if there is any difference.

Hi, i had the same problem. Try to find the file "apple" or "itunes" don't know it anymore exactly. Ahm well you need to delet any information or just plug in your iphone into an other computer. important is that your iphone never has been pluged in this computer before. First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

It would help to have more background about your iTunes collection such as if you keep it on an external drive, or if you have moved or renamed anything recently. iTunes is very sensitive to you renaming or moving files or folders involved with your media. iTunes only keeps a reference to where a media file is located and then goes to look for it when you try to play it. If you have changed things since it was added to itunes then it's like me sending you to look for a friend in my addressbook but that friend has moved.
The other possibility is your computer is starting to lose files. Again, the computer uses a reference database to tell it where on the drive to look for a file. If that database gets corrupt then it starts losing files. Use Dsk Utility's first aid to verify your hard drive.

Ever since downloading and opening Firefox 4 beta, when I try to launch 3.6.8, I get an error message saying that Firefox is already running; it is not. I have removed 4.0 beta from the computer, but don't know where else to look for any bits and pieces.

HT4356 When I try to set up my itouch I get an error message itunes store unknown error 310. I don't have wieless so I hooked the ipod touch up to the computer with the USB port when instructed. But then get the error message and can not get any further.

If you are running Tiger, you don't have time machine.
You need to get something like SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner (sorry, I don't have a handy link for CCC but you can Google it to get their site) to make a clone of your drive on the external and then do incremental backups. The free versions do a lot and you can upgrade to the full-service versions for small change if you need more. The one time I used SuperDuper! for cloning a volume it worked just fine.
(My backup application is the last PPC capable version of Retrospect, which does a credible job, or has over the past ten-twelve years.)
