I am trying to get my photos out of my phone but I have no idea how to do that, since I'm trying to reset my phone that's why.

The old Apple ID (presumably your dads) owns those songs and your new Apple ID does not. However, your dad can authorize your iD to use the songs by going to Store > Authorize This Computer from your iTunes menu and entering his Apple ID and password.

Some of the music I had on CDs is no longer available in my itunes. It says that it is located on the "icloud", but I have no idea how to get it back so I can listen to it!

All of a sudden about 35% of my music has a grayish download button beside it. When I go to redownload it, it won't let me do anything. Then, when I check the location, it states it's in the icloud.
How do I get all my music back into my itunes - other than redownloading all the CDS. It's all music that I have purchased, so I'm not sure how it even got put into icloud, and can't be found in my itunes file. WHen I go to see if it's gone of the drive, it's still in there, and I can play it through the media player, but it won't show up on itunes.

I hadn't used my phone any differently and I do not download music/movies/tv programmes etc. Orange are being really useless with helping me and I would like to be able to find out what sites were visited or what was downloaded on certain days as some of the high usage is when I'm at work and not able to use my phone.

HT4650 In Finder, Desktop, it shows a zillion photos ...jpgs.. all greyed out. I have no idea how they got there and they have been a nuisance since I cannot seem to get them off. Tried dragging them to the trash, didn't help.

In Finder, Desktop, a zillion photos show . I have no idea how they got to the desktop but have not been able to get rid of them. They are listed as greyed out. ON the Desktop I tried dragging them to the Trash. If I try to empty trash, 'some of the items you are moving are in use by another application. etc.." and now, another, Copy "Preparing to undo "move to Trash".

Try an All Images Search:
In the Finder:
Command - f
Kind: Images
Size: Greater than 300kb (This is to avoid all the thumbnails, icons and so on.)
Set it to search the Mac.
As to why? The most likely answer is user error, I'm afriad. It does point up the importantce of always having a back up.

Instead of hitting just the delete key, you need to hit ⌘+Del and one of the choices will be to remove from hard drive.

Well, I hooked it up to my laptop and new hardware was detected. It ran through several things - including mass storage - and said my Blackberry was installed and ready for use.

I then went to Start and My Computer but there was no sign of my Blackberry!

How is your external drive formatted? Use Disk Utility to check the volume format. If it is NTFS, you will need to reformat the HDD as exFAT in order to retain universal compatibility (RW to it on both Mac and Windows).

Since you didn't include any pertinent info such as the Mac model and OS version you are running, here is some general information:
Mac OS X: Gray screen appears during startup
Depending on which OS yours came with originally - and which OS you are now running - you would either need your original install disks - you can call Apple for replacements by giving them your serial number. Or you may be able to reinstall the OS by using recovery (again, depends on which model/which OS).

You moved what photos from where and to where?
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
