I am trying to install Flash Professional CC to a location other than my C: drive

I have specified in the preferences panel that I would like Apps to install on disk E: however this seems to have no effect. Should I reinstall Creative Cloud and try again or is there an easier fix? Please help!

Have you tried creating a "user" file in E: (E:\Users\name) and also choosing it as the default Folder location under "Files" in CC preferences.  Once installed I use the update command found under "Help" in the program.  Faster and more reliable.
In Windows 7
If nothing works for you and you still need to free up C: drive space (SSD?) you might search for info on the "Make Link" command and learn how to use it.  It is a way to move a program from one drive to another and make the OS think it is still in its original place. (Be aware, some files cannot be moved and moved programs will not update.)
If you decide to uninstall it, you will need to undo the MKLINK command (delete created shortcut on C: and copy and paste the program back to the same original C: drive folder first.), then uninstall.  I have uninstalled first and then deleted the program from the other "Root" drive w/o ill effects too.  But I'm no techy, backup everything and create a new "Restore Point" first.

  • Can I install a dmg app to a location OTHER than my main system HD "Applications" folder?

    … and if so, how?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response Mende.
That seems horribly limiting. I was asking because I decided to install a game on my video production computer, but while playing, I'd much rather it were accessing a drive that was not as "mission critical" so to speak. I have two or three other games installed through Steam. But with the Steam app I could send all of the install files to a different drive.
I'll see if copying it over to the other drive works. Would it be as simple as copy/paste and then opening the app from the new folder?
    Thanks again, sir.

  • Error message when trying to install Flash 10.0.45.2

I am running IE 7 on windows XP. We had some issues with Flash active active control version 10.1.53.64 and higher so I unistalled 10.1.53.64 and downloaded the older version (10.0.45.2) from the adobe website but when I try to install it I get the following error "The version of Adobe Flash Player that are trying to install is not the most current version. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer to obtain the latest more secure version". I am however able to install version 9.0.289.0
Is there any particular reason that i cannot install 10.0.
The reason that I don't want to use 10.1 is because it has a bug that affects the working of my application and the audio some times does not play.
    Thanks

Thanks for the information. I downloaded the Active X from the link you provided but I am still getting the same error message

If I remember correctly, there were two different installers for 10.0.45.2: one that did the checking for a newer version, and one that did not.
The forum search is currently disabled, and I cannot find the topics that were discussed at the time.
However, I still have the installers for the non-check version available for download on my servers:

hi im having huge problems trying to install flash for my mac 10.5 imac, iv gone through the internet and tried all of the solutions, everytime i try to install flash it says cant read the download file, or it just wont install, anybody plz help!
iv unistalled flash, iv checked plug ins it just wont work,

It would have been a great help to know precisely what Mac you have, so some of the following may not apply:
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • Trying to install Visio Professional 2013 on 64 bit machine but install says I have 32 bit office

I am Trying to install Visio Professional 2013 on 64 bit machine but when I try to install it says I have 32 bit office already installed.  How do I know if I have 32 bit Office installed, and if so how do I change it to 64 bit.
And how do I install 64 bit Visio ?

I believe for most users the 32-bit version of Office is recommended due to compatibility issues (see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/choose-the-32-bit-or-64-bit-version-of-office-HA010369476.aspx) so that is likely the version you have.
If you only have the install media for 64-bit Visio then you may want to see what you can do to exchange it for 32-bit if possible - the only option for creating a 64-bit version of Office is to uninstall the 32-bit and install 64-bit separately.
(You can tell quickly if your current Office is 32- or 64-bit by looking at the directory it is installed in - 64-bit programs get installed in "c:\Program Files" while 32-bit programs get installed in "c:\Program Files (x86)"
    Good luck!

  • When trying to install flash ERROR!

I have been trying to get flash to work on my computer for
over a month. I have tried everything from uninstalling to
installing. Changing settings, restoring to an earlier date, you
name it I tried it. I was on a chat with HP yesterday for 6 hours -
still not working. Talked to someone at Adobe tonight - but they
dont offer tech support via the telephone for flash so he was not
able to help me when it would not install.
I have Vista home edition and IE 7 is where I have problems.
I am able to install it on Firefox no problem. This really makes me
not want to use IE 7 but I having issues with a slideshow that
defaults to IE so I need help!!!!
I was able to uninstall and install before tonight. But now
after uninstalling and restarting when I go to
adobe.com/go/getflashplayer it starts to download, install and then
    gives me an error:
The version of Adobe Flashplayer Active X is not the most
current - go to adobe.com/go/getflashplayer and download the most
    current version.
Well the issue is I am on that site and trying to download
    it.
I have tried getting it installed through a stand alone and
same error. I have tried through the slideshow software and still
    the same error.
Can someone - ANYONE - help me please. I can not believe the
issues have been going on with this for over a year and Microsoft
nor Adobe has come up with a fix.
I will leave my comments about that to myself - but I would
appreciate someone helping me with this issue.
Any advice other then get rid of Vista or use Firefox - those
are options I am still thinking about.
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the information. I downloaded the Active X from the link you provided but I am still getting the same error message

  • Trying to install flash player on Mac  OS 10.6 .

Trying to install flash player on Mac  OS 10.6 w/Safari.  Ran uninstaller.  In troubleshooting guide, no version comes up in the box, and no error message. I have unblocked cookies and pop-ups. No firewall. Still, the download bar runs to completion, and then nothing. Help?
UPdate: called my local Apple Geek, and he said go to finder, click on adobe download, and go from there. Got the install icon, and its installed. 2 minutes versus the 2 hours I spent on the Adobe troubleshooting page. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Or have a beer. Anyway, thanks for reading and good luck.

I have tried about twenty times to install the Adobe Flash Player on my Mac. I had Adobe malware previously when responding to a fake popup Adobe update request.
In orfer to install now I am asked to disable my anti virus. If I do it would be permanent. I get the Adobe download and installer and even see I have an installed version in a box on the Adobe page but cannot access pdf's that require the player.
