I am trying to install my new Epson printer on to my mac. I am the administrator. Help?
I have just recently purchased an Epson Printer and was trying to install it via the disc as it is not network configured. However after selecting the install icon, logging in and confirming that I agree with the terms and conditions, the installation tells me that I need to log into an administrator account so that I am able to continue with the setup. I am the only user of my laptop and I am the administrator yet I can't get any further with this installation. Anyone know how to sort this? It's so annoying.

If drivers do need to be installed then go to

and enter model number
and download the required items from there and follow Epson Instructions for installing

Ever since I installed my new Epson printer I have been unable to print from the internet. All other printing works well. I am trying to figure out why. Could this be Firefox not recognizing the printer?
If you need to merge bookmarks then you need to export the bookmarks to an HTML file and import that file on the other computer.
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Export HTML
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML : "From File"

Hi,
You could disable AHCI in the BIOS settings (if possible). I have also noticed that some people used a live CD of Ubuntu or any other linux live environment and in Disk Utility or the default disk managament app set the drive/partition as bootable. Fdisk should also work.
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Partition/fdisk_partitioning.html
The boot flag should be in your case(mine as well) on sda1 as the small partition for Windows.

I am trying to install a new printer and I am not sure which application to use?
I am trying to install a new printer with the external CD rom drive on my MacBook Air. When I load the disc it is not allowing the program to run as it is stating that I have the wrong application to do so. How do I install things from the external CD Rom?
What model printer is it?
It is unlikely you need its installation CD-ROM at all.

I am trying to install a new iPod Shuffle and my pc does not pick it up.
My operating system is Windows 8.1 and windows 8 does not appear
in the list of operating systems. You are referring to OFFICE 2010, not Windows XP or 7.
And which version of Windows do you have?
NEVER begin before you have a backup, ideally one you have tested and know works.
You don't really install Boot Camp, the Assistant is a partition tool utility.
You may just want Office 2008 for Mac.
If you need Office for Windows, perhaps run Windows in a VM like Parallels or Fusion.
Buy some backup drives and start using TimeMachine for one backup, then weekly backup with SuperDuper.
IF there is now a partition for Windows, all you need is to buy Windows, and I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (retail) which is about US$149.
Has nothing to do with free space. Office 2010 isn't to boot from. In fact, you can copy the disc to a folder (1.25GB) and run SETUP from there. -
I have received an error message when trying to install 13 new apps for Creative Cloud. It reads: "Error There was an error with this action. Try again later. 7b1f5f56-79b3-4a0d-8fd2-137b1a3e6b67" I don't know what to do.
AppTrial1 where are you seeing this error exactly? For information on how to install the Adobe Creative applications included with the Creative Cloud please see Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

has anyone ever had their apple ipod disappear from the computer? Mine did when I tried to install a newer version on my pC (vista), yesterday. Now I can't even see any apple icons on the screen or any other reference to my ipod tunes. I have had them on the computer for more than 6-years, and have spent a sizeable sum with apple buying iTunes. Help!
One more note. All my music on my iPhone was erased when I clicked on "Transfer Music from iPhone". I mistook the "from" for "to". I want the music to go from the PC to the iPhone, not the other way around. I've sync'ed many times since the latest version of iTunes, so I know that doesn't work.

I have tried to install a new update of itunes and keep getting the same message:Service "apple mobile device"(apple mobile device)failed to start verify that you have sufficient privilages to start system services) also it has abort retry and ignore as choices below i have tried completley uninstalling itunes but not icloud and keep getting this message anyone know what this is or how i can fix it
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

i tried to install a new os x mountain lion, but the system asked me to provide the apple id and password that was used to buy the os from the apple store online. which i don't have. how do i go ahead to install my new os x on the mC
If you don't have the Apple ID and password, how did you get Mountain Liomn in the first place? Without the Apple ID and password, you'll need to buy it to download it.

MacBook Pro 2010: Flashing folder w/? on not responding to startup keys & I'm trying to install a new hard drive, can anyone help?
Thanks. It started up com that disk but when I went to install it had an error message (didn't get to write out what it said). So I attempted to restore from time machine but it said there was no space, even though it's a new (replacement under warranty) HGST 1TB HD, so I did what I think was right and tried to partition the disk but it now says 'Partition faild...POSIX report...cannot allocate memory'. im not sure what to do, and I'm trying to remember how the previous hd was installed and formatted for use but that was over a year ago now. Should have erased the hd first or something?

Photoshop CS2 crashing after installing new Epson printer
I just installed a new Epson Workforce 323 all-in-one printer, and its working fine. yay!
But now PS CS2 crashes on opening.
Just Photoshop - everything else is fine - Illustrator, GoLive, InDesign, Safari, Mail, etc.
I have a MacPro running OSX 10.4.11
I have other Epson things - 2 printers (C88 and 2200) and a scanner (1240U), and they've never been a problem.
The C88 printer died (I jammed paper in it, then had to rip it out, which messed up the print heads and all - otherwise it still 'worked', it was just all wonky), which is why I replaced it with this new Workforce 323.
I was on the phone with Epson support and they had no clue about the PS issue.
I had some guy online on "Just Ask" walk me through uninstalling drivers, etc. - also no help in the end.
Apple didn't know either.
So here I am.
Is this a known issue with CS2 and Epson? Do I need to upgrade CS2? Is there a patch or something?
Any help at all would be SO appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance,
PaulaThanks - A tech guy just left the house, and sure enough, there were some Twain driver issues. I have more than one epson device, and after deleting stuff, then downloading and installing new ones, photoshop is working. PHEW.
My system pref folder was all corrupted too - very weird. Not sure what that was all about, but that's fixed too.
I appreciate your suggestions!

Hi. I was trying to open some pdf files and got a message my adobe reader was deinstalled. I installed a new version of Adobe Reader for Mac and when trying to open a PDF file I am getting a message in a foreign language. Any suggestions?
Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

Tried to install a new game that I bought (Xiii) for my MBP. All system req have been met and exceeded, however when trying to install it I get an error message saying "You can’t open the application “XIII Install” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
I have since read online that the operating software Yosemite has got rid of PowerPC applications, meaning I can't install my new game.
Is there anything simple that I can do to get this game to work. I'll be gutted if not as I have opened the game therefore the shop will not give a full refund, I'm sure .
Regards
SimonA lot longer ago than that. PowerPC apps haven't been supported since Lion, 10.7.x.
You may have just purchased the game, but the developers obviously haven't kept up to date with the requirements for newer versions of the Mac OS.
You have three options, depending on how old your Mac is.
1) If it were ever able to boot directly to Snow Leopard, you could create a separate partition and install SL onto that partition. Make sure to turn on the option during the installation to install Rosetta. That is OS X's PPC emulator.
2) If your Mac is too new to install Snow Leopard, then you can purchase and install Snow Leopard Server within a VM, such as Parallels, VirtualBox, or Vmware.
3) Use a separate older Mac for running outdated software. -
i'm trying to access my new icloud email acct from my mac. I have OS 10.6.8 and have just completed a software update. But still not seeing how to install my icloud acct...?
You must upgrade your OSX to Lion (10.7) minimum, Mavericks (10.9) preferably.
