I am trying to organize my applications.

Currently there are folders in the application folder that includes the whole program. Is there a way I can move that somewhere else and have a shortcut in the application area?

Don't do that. Just put the applications you use regularly into your Dock for easy access, leaving the organization of your Applications folder exactly as the application installers have set it up. If you move what appear to be the applications themselves out of the folders their installers have put them in, some of them won't work properly or won't open at all, and some won't be updated correctly when you attempt to update or upgrade them. Spare yourself a nightmare and leave them as they are.

I have tried another free apple ID and logged on. That's funny when I can login with free account and can not login with paid mobileme account!!!!!!

By the way - the only reason I downloaded iCloud is because Apple deleted the backup option from iTunes. Since iCloud doesn't work, I guess we have no way to protect our iTunes music collection. Absolutely stupid.

Hi,
Are you trying to import an application in the server as a LCA? Have you checked whether that application was existing previously or not? Sometimes if the application archieve is corrupted this type of situation might happen. Another reason might be you have already deployed application of the same name. try to undeploy the application if you have in the same name and try doing it. You can also import that in thw orkbench if you have got individual files.

All of the files are going into the same zip file but I want them visually in the space that I put them and not at the bottom of the snap to grid folder location they are looking like. I am trying to drag and drop files in groups so that I can group them for now, but image files always do their own "sort by" when I drag them from my web pages. Links don't do it though. I tried resetting the folder, and deleting the DS files. No luck.

Apps are permanently tied to the AppleID that downloaded them and cannot be transferred to another. Best thing to do is delete the apps and download those you want or need under your AppleID.

Mac Mail Smart Folder to organize HR applications?

hi all.
i am looking at purchasing filemaker for our business and am wondering if this might not be more easily solved WITHIN Mac Mail.
one problem we have is with incoming resumes and portfolios via email. normally this is an EMAIL and a COVER LETTER (doc or pdf) and a PORTFOLIO (in pdf format). i am wondering if there is some step by step instructions or perhaps some help or ideas that we should look at on how we might organize this info in Mac Mail or if it makes more sense to try to do this in FileMaker or even something else like one of the Devon products.
right now we are printing these out and it is really inconvenient.
a couple items i am noticing is that the FILENAMES of the attachments do not always have the applicants name in it and the cover letter is not always a separate file but is sometimes in the /body/ of the email (we currently use Mac Mail and Sparrow). also, while in the past we have tried to organize pdf's on the HARD DRIVE after we have downloaded it, /most/ of the incoming emails do in fact have a HEADER in the email that associates the applicant with the JOB POSITION. this would help a great deal in the sense that if we could use this it would "pre-sort" the applicants and we could then SORT FURTHER by adding tags or information after the information was already in a database.
any help would be appreciated.

i have two problems with this.
the first is that the emails that came in do not have any particular identifying information in them and there are emails for at least a year but probably going back three years. i don't want to have to search through all my emails in order to find these. i want to organize them in my computer instead of having them organized in paper as they are now.
so if i could get into an attachments folder i could take them out and cross reference them against the paper versions once i grab them. this would be much easier than searching for them one by one i think. i mean, i should start a new thread for this question but i also have .doc files and likely other files and Mail Search does not seem so robust.
so. once thing i was wondering with the post was whether there was a way to sort these as they COME IN and moving forward have filters set up to catch them. this way if someone does not put the correct header on the mail (i.e. they are not paying attention) their email does not go into the folder but if they do their email does go into this folder and this way i have an /automated/ way of keeping up moving forward.
so #1 would be to figure out a way to get caught up (finding where Mail stores attachments if i can access them would be of help) and #2 would be to find a way to sort these automagically. i have posted to FileMaker to see if FileMaker can find these emails and portfolios as they come into Mail but the more i think about it the more helpful it would be to sort them when they come in as email attachments.
it is sort of a nightmare to find these and sort them even moving forward in "real time".

What happens when you try to confirm your details, if you are getting an error message then what does it say ? For a card to be accepted (debit cards are no longer accepted in all countries) it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address as on your account, and have been issued by a bank in your country. If it's not being accepted then do you get the 'none' option on your account ?

Thank you for the suggestion - I tried it but still didn't work. When I click "New Folder" it gives me the pop-up to name the new folder, but doesn't put a new folder anywhere in my Project Library.

Error in EAS V11.1.1.2 when trying to copy an application

Hi, I tried to copy an application in EAS an got this error:

Failed to add application [apsname] to project at Shared Services with Error [Adding following Apps to Project failed : 'apsname_essbaseservername_1.ESBAPP;'.]
Any idea why it appens?
We have restart Shared Services afterwards and got the same error.

One possible solution would be to :-
1. Open Microsoft Word > File > Open.  
2. Paste the corresponding URL: http://<shared services server name>:<shared services port number>/interop/content in File name.
3. It will open a "Interop Realm" interface. Provide the username and password for Shared Services.
 4. Go to Files.
 5. Go to Project.
 6. The problem application will be listed here as project.
Right click on the project and delete it.
 7. Close the connection.  
7. Login to Hyperion Shared Services.
 8. Go to the Administration menu. 
9. Select "Recover LDAP" and let it complete.
Then try to create the application in the EAS console with the same name and copy the application again.

An error occurs while trying to delete an application

I'm working with BPC 7.5 NW SP3. I faced a problem when I tried to delete an application. I got this error:
"A dump occured on the ABAP stack". The same message appears when I try to delete an application set.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Check the dump details via ST22. Ask your Basis folks if you do not have authorization.

I just tried a test library, re-imported fresh images from a hard drive, and the date changes still revert.
So neither your external drive nor your Aperture library are to blame.
What do you mean test in a different user acct? Would it be a good idea to uninstall and re-download aperture 3?

To test, if some settings in your user account are faulty or preferences files corrupted, it helps to create a new user account from the "Users&Groups" System preferences. With a brand new user account you can see, if something in your current account is causing this.
Should you see, that Aperture is not even working from a new and clean account, I'd reinstall Aperture, and if need be the Operating system. Are you using any plug-ins?

You should only make purchases for all your devices using a single Apple ID. There is no need, and indeed a good reason not to, set up a new Apple ID with each new device purchase. While items purchased under different IDs can be played on a single device, you cannot merge Apple IDs and it makes it cumbersome.
Apple IDs do not expire but may become dormant and require reactivation if they are not actively used.
You should make note of your Apple ID and passwords and keep a record of it. Like a bank account it contains access to items with value. Update your Apple ID email address as they change.
