I am trying to reload iPhoto

HI
Iam trying to reload Iphoto from the app store,i had to delete app because i had old apple id attached to it so now i am trying to reload and it keeps coming up with accept icon and the od id info please help how do i remove?

iPhoto on your particular Mac can only be updated by the Apple ID that originally accepted it. Why did you create a new Apple ID?

First, empty the Trash, if possible.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.
The output of the command will be a number. It's automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste it into a reply.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • How to reload Iphoto 11 Library To Orginal State?

    Hello,
I am new to using threads, but I have used threads many of times to help me fix issues with PC's.  I am having my first issue with Mac and have tried for the past 48 hours reading as many threads as I can looking into my issue.  After I finished loading about 800 pictures from a few videos from my Canon camera to Iphoto 11, everything was working fine despite seeing that Iphoto was beginning to run much slower (as if it was trying to prcessed everything I just loaded).  The following day Iphoto would not load, and I received the message: YOUR PHOTO LIBRARY IS EITHER IN USE BY ANOTHER APPLICATION OR HAS BECOME UNREADABLE.
Now remember I have been been reading threads for 2 days straight. So lets get pass the obvious tries unless there could have been a mistake. I've tried renaming the library along with using iphoto library manager and I got the same message. I tried the option and command button using various selections to rebuild my photos and I get the same message.  I have everything save on my Time Machine and when I try to load from the TM I get the same message.  I have tried deleting the iphoto software in the receycle and reloaded it back on, and I get the same message. I have tried removing .plist files from show packages and that doesnt work.  When I say I have read and tried many things, I have.
Now I do understand the good news.  I still have all my photos thanks backing it up with TM, but this is what I am looking for.  Is there something that I have not tried that will allow me reload my iphoto library with all events, albums created, and photo books created?  Bottomline is there a way to make it look the way it looked before it got corrupted, by maybe trying something in Time Machine again?  I mean why when I go back to another time in TM the program still doesnt open? Shouldnt I be able to by pass this error based on the fact that its on TM?
Lastly,  I will say there is maybe a chance I did not delete the application properly.  I remove it from application to the recyle bin along with its receipts (in the library), but maybe that's not enough. So although, I know how to go about extracting my photos and starting over again, Im hoping there is fix to put things back in its orginal state even if it was in an earlier time.  Thanks for any feedback.
p.s. I have the latest version of Iphoto 11 installed included updates. If necessary, I also have the older ILife apps, if that is recommended

    Let me ask you LarryHN,
I was reading that when launch TM and go back into time and restore, its just putting on your pictures into one library, but was not keeping your events, and photo albums, and picture books, is that true?  Also, when I tried  that for a little I got a little iffy when I saw 47 gigs was being imported into my library when I shouldnt have no more in iphoto libabry  then maybe 20 gig as if it was getting other pictures that was not associated with the orginal library. Does that make sense?

  • I am trying to upgrade iPhoto from a .dmg file ???

I am trying to upgrade iPhoto 9.4.2 to 9.4.3 on a Mac Mini with Mountain Lion.  When I run the iPhoto9.4.3Update.dmg file, I get the alert:
The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store.  Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available.
When I close the alert, it shuts down the update.
Since at our location our only option to get on the internet is via a 3G modem with a data cap of 5 GB per month, we take a laptop into the local library, hop on their wifi, and download dmg files for large upgrades like iPhoto (in this case, 766 MB).  This has always worked before - what is different here?
Since we were near the end of our data month and still had a GB left, I then tried the software update route from the Apple menu on the Mac mini.  It started downloading the 9.4.3 update which was only 177 MB.  2 hours later it had just finished the download and suddenly continued onto another download (still in the iPhoto upgrade) of a 1.2 GB file.  So I aborted.  So my 2nd question is what was happening here.
And my 3rd question is what to do next?

Evidently there was more than one update listed for your Mini.  Next time launch the App Store app in your Applications folder and log in with the Apple ID used to purchase your Mini. Click on the Updates folder and look for available updates.  There you can select one at a time for installation.
Look in the Download folder in your Home folder to see if the 9.4.3 update is there.

  • I am trying to access iPhoto from my MacBook Pro on my iPhone 5s

I am trying to access iPhoto on my iPhone 5s from my 2008 MacBook pro. I have synced both devices, have set up iCloud, have downloaded iOS7 and Mavericks, and have photo sharing and photo stream turned on on the iPhone. I am using iPhoto '08, version 7.1.5. There is a newer for purchase version of iPhoto. Could it be that I have to buy this update to connect from my iPhone? I just bought the iPhoto by Apple app but it only allows me to view albums and photos that are already on my iPhone.

Thanks for your reply. I am still ever-hopeful this can be done. Checking the iPhoto '11 site, I see this info:
-View and automatically import recent photos taken on your iOS devices
-Automatically send newly-imported photos to all your iOS devices
-iPhoto '11 works with iCloud Photos, so the photos you take on your iOS devices automatically appear in iPhoto,
I ask this respectfully. If indeed iPhoto version 9.5 is iCloud friendly, why would it not be accessible from my iPhone? It seems to me that the mission of iCloud is to effect the "commonality" between iPhone and the Mac - and other Apple devices. Do you know the technical reason for this or am I going to have to accept that it simply won't work? <grin>

  • I am trying to copy iphoto library Error Code 36

I am trying to copy iphoto library from one hard drive to another and get the message The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “iPhoto Library” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36) = Need to back iy up or my wife will kill me. thanks for help

Here is something you can try:
Obtain iPhoto Library Manager. It is an inexpensive program you can download. Run it and tell it to REBUILD your iPhoto Library from your original iPhoto Library. It will create a NEW file in a destination that you specify (you can specify the other hard drive and thus get a backup all at once) and try to recreate the iPhoto Library based on the info from your original one. Depending on the problem causing your -36 file error, iPhoto Library Manager may (a) successfully recreate your entire photo library successfully on the other hard drive; (b) recreate all of your original photo library except for the part that is damaged; or (c) won't be able to finish at all if the disk problems are severe enough.
If (c) happens, you may have to copy the actual photos individually out of the iPhoto Library and into a new iPhoto Library. The actual photos are inside the iPhoto Library. You can find them by control-click once on the iPhoto Library and select Show Package Contents. The folder called Originals or Masters has the photos (originals) and a folder called Modified or Previews has the edited photos. I suggest COPYING (not moving) these folders to the external drive. You will then need to re-import the actual photos inside these folders to a new iPhoto Library.

  • I am trying to install Iphoto on my new MacBook Air adn the install button is grayed out  Any suggestions

I am trying to install iphoto 09 on my new MacBook Air and the install button is grayed out.  Both for installation and custom install.  Is there a problem that I am not aware of?

    Check for receipts
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • Crashes while trying to reload Snow Leopard from the disc.

I am trying to reload Snow Leopard onto a MacBook Pro. It crashes every time I attempt it. When starting up without the disc, I get a folder with a question mark. What is wrong? When attempting to start up using the Snow Leopard disc, it crashes.
    Any suggestions?

The folder on the question mark is the firmware telling you it can't the bootable volume it was told to boot from.
It might not know, or it's gone or the drive is dead or some other issue it can't find it.
Hold the option/alt key down on a wired or built in keyboard and boot the machine into Startup Manager, there you can select from the bootable options if they exist or not corrupted.
Also the disk can be inserted and booted (and ejected) from here as well.
If after booting from the disk it crashes, the disk is likely bad or not compatible with that machine.

  • Safari for iPod Touch now tries to reload, wipes out pre-loaded pages

Before Friday, June 4, I loaded important web pages into my iPod before I left home while I had an internet connection, and as long as I don't try to refresh them, they stayed in the browser. After Friday, Safari tries to reload them from the server when I am not connected, and thus wipes them off. I save bus schedules in there and since there is no wifi on the bus, I need those schedules to remain in the browser, and they did until Friday. Is there a setting for Safari such as "Do not try to download from server when offline" that was added that day? Thanks.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Mail Contents of this Page. In your e-mail client, send that file to yourself.
Go here for instructions to use your iPod as a storage device: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1478
Connect your iPod to your computer. Double click the iPod icon when it appears on your Desktop.
Copy/paste the contents ONLY of the e-mail to a new text document then File/Save As. Give the document a title: Bus Schedules. Now move that file to the Notes folder in your iPod.

    Hello chathamcpa,
I found an article with steps you can take when you are getting Error 7 when opening iTunes.  I recommend following the steps in this article:

Make sure the EHD is formatted OS X Extended (journaled) and run Disk Utilty on the EHD and repair the disk.  If that fails to help I'd try the following:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the external HD as the location of the newly rebild library.
    Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2:  Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
