Manually manage music is NOT checked. I backed up all my phone information from my old 3GS phone to my computer, then connected my new phone to sync. Everything else seems ok but music won't transfer. It is set to automatically sync when connected.

I recently changed my apple ID but my previous apple ID is associated with my icloud account. I'm setting up my new iphone 6 and cannot complete the set up until I can sync my icloud account. Does anyone know how to change the icloud id?
Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your phone). -
I ordered the new Iphone 6 and it will ship on 10/31, on 10/15 I completed the paperwork to return my iphone 4 8GB, but it appears when my paperwork was emailed to me and I didn't notice until today. It has my return phone listed as an iphone4 16GB...is this going to be an issue? I was quoted a trade in value of $200 and need to apply this to my iphone 6, if the trade in is not going to be $200 I need to cancel. I did call the verizon store today and the woman told me it should be no problem, but I keep hearing horror stories about this trade in program and I need to be sure.

With the trade in program the device that is being returned should indeed match what was selected at the time the trade in was processed. New iphone 6+ and no means of moving my music library to the phone...
I haven't been this frustrated with my Mac/Phone setup in years.... I got a new iPhone 6+ today and am not seeing what I'd expect to see in the "Music" tab under the device vis-a-vis options. I do have iTunes Match and have tried it both turned on and off. What I want to do is move my extensive music library from my MacBook Pro to the new iPhone and the checkboxes I used to see on my iPhone 5 are no longer there.... That is to say, even though I subscribe to iTunes Match, i want the music to be "on" my phone when I'm in the air, on the lake or golf course outside of celldata or wifi range. What gives???? How to I get my 100Gb library moved from my computer to my phone???? Is doing what I want to do somehow now mutually exclusive if you're an iTunes Match subscriber? It didn't seem to be with my iPhone 5 that was just taken out of service....

Sounds like Match isn't for you (me neither).
Is there an iTunes setting for Match that you also need to turn off? Or, what if you temporarily sign out of iCloud while you try to sync? -
Hi all I am trying to swap my music over from my mac to phone but not having any luck . Although my mac is authorised it keeps saying that its not. I have de authorised it then re done it but still the same . Not up to doing anything drastic and have heard some horror stories about loosing all contacts while messing about with back ups and cant afford to have that happen to me . Ideas anyone ??

Transferring purchases
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
Enter your Apple ID and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, you may be asked if you want to "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer Purchases."
If that alert appears, click Transfer Purchases.
Important: Clicking Erase and Sync will delete any existing content currently on your device. The content would then be replaced with the content that is on the computer.
If you were not offered the option to transfer purchases:
After connecting your device to the computer, its icon appears in iTunes. Click the icon.
From the File > Devices menu, choose "Transfer Purchases from 'Your device name.'"
Note that the computer must be authorized for the Apple ID under which the purchases were made.
You may also want to download the music directly from the iTunes store, rather than using the iPhone. See this article -

I turned on my new phone and the message tells me "Your iphone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting your iphone to itunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes."
I've tried connecting it to itunes it still doesnt see, to work.
Please help~To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
Click Apply. -

Deleting songs downloaded to your device
You can delete a song or album from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch at any time. Don't worry; it'll still be in the cloud.
Tap the Music app.
Tap More > Songs at the bottom.
Scroll or search for the song you would like to delete from your device.
Swipe right to left on the song, and then tap Delete.
Note: You must be in Artists, Songs, or Albums view to delete songs from your device. Deleting from a playlist won't remove a song from your iOS device.

Hi, I downloaded the latest software for my iphone 4 and this morning I received text messages that were meant for my son. we both use the same PC and iTunes for our iphones, so will he get a copy of my messages too when he upgrades his software?
does anyone know how to stop this? or how it happened in the first place?

CathyYou have an Apple ID signed in to all the devices which is causing this.
"When you sign in to your Apple ID with iMessage using an iPhone with iOS 6, your Apple ID is linked to your phone number. This allows you to receive iMessages sent to your phone number on other iOS 6 devices signed in to the same Apple ID."
To correct this, go into Settings > Messages > Send and Recieve at > See below...
On your phone: Uncheck your son's phone number
On his phone: Uncheck your phone number.
On iPad: Uncheck both phone numbers to prevent iMessages sent to either number to also appear on the iPad.
If you have email addresses associated here, then you may have to remove those as well, although you won't be able to remove the Apple ID that you're using. Any iMessage sent to that Apple ID will arrive at all the device unless you sign out of that Apple ID and create/use another Apple ID for that device. -
I just bought a new iphone 4s and I can't get it to sync to my itunes? help!
I've follwed all the online support I can find and made sure my itunes was up to date...turned on and off both my phone and my macbook and still can't get my itunes to recongnize my iphone. Any tips out there? I'm brand new to the iphone world!

Most likely that is the reason. I have a screen protector on and see similar issues when the iPhone is not on. They're not noticeable when turned on. Remove it and see the difference. -
I have an imac with OS X 10.8.2 and an iphone 5. i have AT&T service and msn email account. My contacts and calendar are not syncing with icloud! I have all the settings adjusted correctly and I can not figure out why it won't sync.
iPhones running iOS 6 require iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8 or later. You will have to upgrade OS X, then download the latest version of iTunes.
You can copy your iTunes library to the new machine either manually, or you can use the migration assistant built into OS X to transfer the entire account. Up to 5 computers can be activated using the same iTunes account. -

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
