I am trying to update my apps, but it won't ever start installing
It keeps saying "waiting" and even though I know the internet is working, they won't finish installing. I can't use most of my apps because of this. I waited a whole day and they have yet to finish being installed. How can I fix this?
Here are a number of things that you can try.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

I have mobile me account now and so my apple id is switched from my email address to my mobile me address. Since I have made this change I can't update my apps. Everytime I try to sign in it won't recognize the switch. Where are you trying to log in? You should be able to change your ID at http://appleid.apple.com - can you log in there?
Before you change your ID you should log out of the iTunes Store and on any devices which are logged into iCloud. Then once you've changed it you can log back in with the new ID. (Your iCloud synced data will disappear from the device when you do this but will reappear when you sign back in - give it time).
If you are unable to sign into http://appleid.apple.com you will need to contact Support. Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'. Try temporarily disabling your firewall and antivirus.

I live in South Africa but i'm currently on holiday in the Uk. I'm trying to update my apps but it keeps telling me, "i'm not registered in the South African store" and i wont let me update apps - like my banking app which is necessary at the moment. Please Help?
Change iTunes Store Country on an iDevice
1. Tap Settings;
2. Tap iTunes & App Stores;
3. Tap View Apple ID;
4. Enter your user name and password;
5. Tap Country/Region;
6. Tap Change Country/Region;
7. Select the region where you will be located;

I am trying to update an app, but its asking to connect to a wifi or downlown it in itunes. There are several apps that need updating, I can't do either or, or maybe I just don't know how to do it.It's saying that the app is over 50MB. But it's not telling me which app. Help!!!!!!!!!
Well, I just purchased Linksys wifi and hooked it up. It's running fine. When I go to my IPhone settings to see is I'm connected to a wifi, it shows that I am not connected. When I hit my wifi to see or to connect, it takes me to the wifi networks and it's showing my secured wifi as being locked and my guess wifi as not locked. How do I sign in to my own wifi network.

I was directed to Itunes because I am trying to update my Apps but my billing information is decling it because my checking account has been expired, i was told to go to payment changes and select the option "None" but I do not have an option for that and just trying to find out a way to change my billing information to none so that I am able to update and download free apps!
Apple’s having trouble with the iTunes Store servers right now. Wait for them to resolve the issue.

We do have a place in the UK which we could use as an address, but for various reasons it gets a bit complex even though we still have a UK bank account. We moved to France when there were no iDevices and apps around, just bought the occasional music, so it wasn't a problem. Funny thing is I can't even download the free UK bank app because it's not available in the French store .
I'll live with the problem for now as we plan to move back to the UK in a year or so - we miss the weather . -
i have been trying to update my apps but i recieve a pop up on my iphone and ipod that my apple id has been disabled. i have reset my password and made sure that everything in my settings are up to date with the new password. but the problem still persists. i have done what the support link has told me i have even logged out and logged back in but still no positive results. please help

I've been trying to update my apps but it keeps asking for my billing info so i retype everything and it keeps saying my security code is invalid when i know its not. It is same card they had on file before and the same security code but now it wont take it and i cant update anything. HELP!
If you're positive the information is correct, ask the issuing bank why the transaction is being rejected.
You're getting this error because the store can not authorize the card with your bank. -

Take the SIM out and reseat it. Was your phone jailbroken or unooficially unlocked? If so then when you upgraded the phone locked again to the original carrier. If that is the case you need a SIM from that carrier to use the phone or you could contact that carrier and have them unlock it for you

There are a number of threads about it - it looks like Apple recently updated their address validation. Some people have recorded success by :
ensuring that their iTunes account address is exactly the same as appears on their credit card bill
putting something in the second line of the address (including just copying the first line)
expanding abbreviations e.g. St to Street, Ave to Avenue etc (or conversely abbreviating)
putting apartment or suite number on the second address line -

When clicking on a menu in the format bark (ex: color) the sub menu pops open then disappears when releasing the mouse key. In the past the menu would stay open until select a color or clicking off the menu. Any thoughts on what's wrong?
