I am trying to update my calendar from my iMac to the calendar on my new 5s. Does not sync. What can I do?
Am trying to sync calendars with iTunes - transfering calendar entries from iMac to new 5s. Calendars don't sync. How do I get calendar entries onto phone?
OK...that sounds like a workable solution. Re: iCloud...I have this aversion about having personal things like all my appointments etc etc being out there in the Cloud. I actually started to use the cloud and found that when I set up the iCal, it deleted all of my calendar entries off my iMac and then I had to go to the cloud to see my Calendar. Somehow that seemed kind of backasswards to me. I want my stuff on the main computer I use. I assumed, maybe incorrectly, that if I got on my computer at home and did not have internet access...which can happen -- then I would not be able to see my calendar since the entries would be in the cloud. Is that faulty thinking on my part? Thanks for your assistance. Much appreciated.

hi my bluetooth cannot see the other bluetooth devices. When it is picked up by a different device tries to pair with it but the pairing does not occur. what can I do apart from throwing this **** thing in the bin?
It isn't supposed to pair with the MacBook. You can use WiFi to connect but not Bluetooth. You can setup a personal HotSpot on the iPhone and connect the MacBook, or setup the MacBook AirPort to create a network and attach the iPhone, and use the USB cable to connect the iPhone to the MacBook for syncing and backup purposes.
The communications are rather limited. -
I installed new hard drive and I am trying to restore from time machine external back up. I restarted the computer and held the Command key and the R and the restore utility does not appear. what can I do
Command + R keys are for Macbooks running Lion and Mountian Lion only. ( i could be wrong on this)
you have a couple of options:
Do a clean install of Snow Leopard via Install DVD.
Clone your old hard drive to your new hard drive via Carbon Copy Cloner

If so, on your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Select: Contacts
Give iCloud a few minutes to sync the data.
For the iPad, make sure Contacts is switched on. Tap Settings > iCloud -
When I click on the tab to 'open a new tab' or when I select 'new tab' from the file menu then a new tab does not open. It used to.

Calendar entry on iPhone 3GS does not sync to desktop
For some reason, when I enter anything into my iPhone version of the calendar, it does not appear on the desktop. I have mobileMe, and it works fine syncing in reverse, but for some reason I can't make the iPhone changes appear on the desktop. Any ideas?

I don't use the iTunes sync (travel too much, and I sync between 2 desktops, 2 laptops, iPad an iPhone (what a nerd I am!), so I use MobileMe to sync.
I have many different calendars -- usually when I put a new entry in my iPhone, I give it the correct calendar setting (for example "home" or "teaching"). Perhaps only the default calendar is the one that syncs (which would not make sense, but I'll try it)! -
How do I get a prompt for my new account when updating existing apps? I had used one of my sons account for most of the apps on my iPhone. I have since move up to a iPhone 4S and created my own account to use iCloud. But everytime I try to update the exiting apps I am prompted for a password to my sons account. I am logged on to iCloud with my new account at the same time.
It looks like the apps retain some kind of tag to the original account used during download.
Any help would be appreciated.Change the account in the iPhones settings
