I am trying to upgrade...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a PowerPC G3 running 10.3.9. I have bought a sprint usb SierraAC595 USB device to get onto the internet. I was trying to install it and while reading the instruction booklet I read that I have to upgrade to Tiger. I attempted to upgrade. When I put in the install disk (full version DVD), the icon never comes up for me to begin the insatllation. What am I doing wrong? I must be missing something on my system, but I am not sure what. I am kind of new at all this installation stuff. Is this usb thing gonna work with this or do I need to go and get my money back? Someone please help me!!!! lol. Thanks

Which G3 is it? I don't remember G3s having DVD drives, but someone will probably correct me on that. My DV400 required an external DVD writer to run DVDs.
Looking at the specs for your machine, mentions only CD-ROM:

If your G3 does have DVD-ROM drive, try restarting your computer whilst holding down C. That should boot you straight into the installer.
If your computer doesn't have DVD-ROM drive then you could get CDs from http://www.applerescue.com/ or get a DVD writer.

Tried to Upgrade to Yosemite - Mac Got Locked! - HELP!!!
Today I tried to upgrade my late 2013 15" MacBook Pro Retina from Mavericks to Yosemite. After launching the installation, the computer restarted and within 30 seconds it displayed a screen asking for a four-character password and the following message "Enter your system lock PIN code to unlock this Mac."! I cannot bypass this screen and I have no clue what this password might bemas I never set one.
I called Apple Canada and was with them for four hours on the phone. No result other than the fact that my computer appears to be iCloud locked. I only remember experimenting and trying to lock it once through my iClold account 6-8 months ago and the procedure had no effect on the Mac at that time (although it locked my iPnone and iPad). The Apple guy thinks that that the very old command might have activated now. But how do I unlock it my computer now?
On the phone, Apple advised me to go to an Apple Store to see the Genius Bar. But the earliest appointments are available on Wednesday next week and Saturday I need to fly to the UK on business for a week and all my work files and presentations I need to make are on the locked computer.
What has Apple done to my computer? How could they lock me like this out of my data? Please let me know what do I have to do to recover access to my computer and data as soon as possible?
Many thanks.I did the same thing, I realised what I did wrong after it was too late and ended up with the 'white no entry sign' on the black screen.
I did manage to sort it, but because the solution happened so fast, I can't recall the exact details, but here is a general guide: Please read all of this before following the sequence I went through.
After much messing around searching the net on another machine and getting nowhere I decided to do a re-install the system. I started the Mac holding down Command-R. I then opted to re-install the software thinking that I was going to lose everything. I clicked on the Install button and it would not let me re-install the system because the drive was locked. This turned out to be an amazing stroke of luck.
I then went to Time Machine out of curiosity more than anything else, and this is where I can't remember exactly what happened. I think I went to see if there were any backup, knowing there was not! but it gave me the option to 'unlock' the drive. I did this, immediately shutdown and re-started and I was then able to get back in as normal. I then went straight into Filevault and made sure that it was switched off.

I tried to upgrade my phone online to take advantage of the online discount and also use a loyalty discount. The price of the phone is correct until it I get to checkout, the loyalty discount is then removed and only the online discount is applied. I IM the online sales rep, but the person was of no help, telling me that all discounts had been applied. After about 15 to 20 minutes of trying to explain that the loyaly discount was being removed at checkout, I just gave up and cancelled the order.
I later tried it again, only to have the same problem and the same result from the online sales rep.
What good is a loyaly discount if you can't use it?
I am not sure if this is by design or if there is a glitch in the site, but the sales rep could not see my loyalty discount on my account and could not explain why this was happening.
Do I need to go to a store to take advantage of the loyalty discount?

ThanksIt may depend on the type of store you go to. Corporate stores are different from third-party retailers (who often carry cell products other than Verizon as well). I would say call the specific store you plan to go to and ask before you go.

Launch Photoshop cc 2014 application from Applications folder:

Error 49 occurs while updating the application , when Creative Cloud app does not have reference / Access to installed CC app, so that it can apply updates for the same .
You can try to update from CC app like Photoshop itself and check. -

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through this time? -
i have itouch 64gb, i have itunes 10 loaded -trying to upgrade to Ios5 - at the end of the long dowload is says- chack network connection-= network times out- yet network is on as is Ipod- whats up?
I'm not certain thats the problem. I stopped antivirus, I set screensaver to NOT trigger and yet it took me FOUR DAYS to completely sync my ipod touch. Stupid me decided to try it with the iPad and guess what...it's been three days and STILL timing out.
I don't think Steve Jobs died; I think they upgraded him to iOS5, he crashed and they could not restore him.

Tried to upgrade as instructed and after uninstalling and reinstalling (even back to the former iTunes which I was happy with)several times, keep getting message "Procedure entry point could not be located in dynamic link library" followed by "iTunes was not installed properly" "Error 7". Help, please??
Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. Unfortunately you neglected to include the detail of which dll is mentioned.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

Upgrading the iOS "over-the-air" was introduced with iOS 5. If you are currently running an iOS version < 5.0 you can only update through iTunes. Connect your iPad to your PC or Mac. Open iTunes and click on "Check for updates"

This is asked and answered frequently... a simple search of the forums would have revealed that disabling any Anti-Virus and Firewall software on the computer prior to downloading will rectify the issue.

I have error code -43 when trying to upgrade iPhone 3GS running v4.3 to version 5 or above. This error occurs whilst trying to back up phone during upgrade process. 2GB of free memory on phone. Can anyone help?
Well I spoke too soon.
The update was successful, but now I cannot connect to the 3GS data network.
Cannot get email and cannot open a page in Safari.

Email and internet work fine on WiFi.........no data using 3GS network.

Try popping out the SIM card and turn off the phone.
Pop in the SIM card once again and turn on the phone, make sure that the SIM card is placed and seated perfectly in the tray!

If your iPhone was hacked to be unlocked to use with any carrier's SIM card, you just re-locked the iPhone to the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked when new.
