I am trying to use Adobe Professional 7.0 and getting an error... The following applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup. CLose these applications and retry.

Here is the error message. Any idea what this is? I have the program on another computer and it wont let me uninstall. The error message occurs on both computers

Use Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
Open Task Manager
Look under Processes
Find AcroTray and kill process.
Retry button on message.

Have these posted suggestions worked for anyone? I have been using the same installation files on several different machines. Most machines upgrade just fine but, I have a few that receive this error and I cannot seem to get past it: "Some files that need to be updated are currently in use" "Program Manager" is the program that the installer is complaining about. Does anyone know what program "Program Manager" is? I'm assuming it is an Adobe file but, why would it interfere with one of my installations and not all of them?
I'm using the same installation files for all installs so, I don't believe that it could be my downloaded installation setup files.

Make sure that both the web browser you're using and its Flash plug-in are up to date. Google Chrome has its own Flash plug-in it updates on its own. Firefox, IE and other have separate plug-ins.

I have Windows Vista, and iTunes has not been working on my computer for a few months now. I was hoping this new version (7.4 the latest one) would finally be able to run. Unfortunately, when I run the installer, I get a window that says this:
"Some files that need to be updated are currently in use."
"The following applications are using files that need to be updated by the installer. Close these applications and click Retry to continue"
"Windows Explorer (Process ID: 2440)"
How should I deal with this? And what if I still get the "iTunes has stopped working" message if I do manage to install it? Thanks for trying to help!

I too ran into the same error. It was the vagueness of the error message which surprised me.
What I used Unlocker [http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/] on the folder "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0", it showed some 6 to 7 files in use by the Windows Search Indexer.
I unlocked all the files and was able to update Adobe Reader.

The first time that you posted, you described your problem. The next post after that is #1 and so on.
The Adobe Flash Player forum works very much like email except there are a lot of "threads". A thread is what each message you see is called. Everyone that registers can start their own thread (subject). Then other people see it and can post to your thread and try to help you with your problem.
You did pretty good, you registered, and you started your first thread
Now do you feel somewhat more relaxed? Hope so.
Take a look now and see if you can find the Post# and etc that I described above.

Seems a common problem.
What OS are you using, Windows 8 64 bit or something? Win 8 has an embedded Flash Player on it, and I have been told here that if this is the case, installing a new version of Flash Player is not necessary, but Fire Fox needs the plug in. They came out with a Flash Player plug in for use with Fire Fox that includes a debugger, but I have not tried it yet. (see below).
I have tried installing Flash Player 11.8.800.994 and 11.7.70.224...... and all crash. I think maybe some anti virus software needs to be disabled to allow installation, or the anti virus thinks its malware. I am also not sure if I need to also install Shockwave Flash for the whole thing to work?
Not sure the following will help and I am about to try it because I am going round in circles, too.
If 11.7 extended support release works for you, would you please update your success by adding a reply at the bottom of your original post, and let us know what you did that worked?

This order no is for subscription of Adobe Captivate 8. In order to install subscription you need not to enter any serial key .During the installation it will prompt you to enter your Adobe Id and it will validate your subscription after validating your Adobe Id from the server. I can't install or uninstall iTunes on my laptop. I've followed all the steps on Apple Support as well as Microsoft support. I get the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Pick an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi". This has been going on for a couple of weeks now and I'm very frustrated. From what I can see, I'm not the only one with this problem, but I have yet to see anyone post a solution that works. Microsoft wants to charge me $99 to troubleshoot it for me and Apple will charge $20. I think both are ridiculous as this is obviously not "operator error".

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Okay, that means with the latest iOS software, it requires the latest version of iTunes on the computer. Which computer OS platform are you using. Now you are saying that after downloading the latest version of iTunes that your iPhone is not being recognized by iTunes? Completely different thing, and the iTunes on the iPhone has nothing to do with that anyway. The iTunes on the iPhone is just for purchases.
If you are having trouble with the iPhone being recognized by iTunes, use the appropriate link for your computer OS for assistance.
