I am trying yo set up iringtones on itunes but the ringtone toolbar isnt appearing on the left hand side, how do i get this to work?

To get Ringtones to appear under Library on the left-hand side of iTunes, go into Edit > Preferences and on the General tab make sure that Ringtones is ticked.

I am trying to set up two-factor authentication but none of my devices appear listed. I am only given an option to add an SMS-enabled device. When I do this, I receive an SMS with a code, but have no way to continue in the browser. I have enabled find my iPhone on at least one device, and can see all my devices in the find-my-iPhone app. Am I missing something?

His step 6 shows the 'Step 1 of 4' page where you should click 'Add an SMS-capable phone number'.
His step 7 shows the 'Add a phone number' window where you can enter the phone number and click 'Next'. The phone should then receive the code by SMS.
His step 8 shows the 'Verify Device' window which should appear automatically in which you can enter the code.
Are you not seeing the window in step 8? if this is not popping up automatically then something is going wrong: you could try clearing your browser's cache and trying again. If it still won't work you may have to contact Support: Go to https://getsupport.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services', then ' 'iTunes', and then 'iTunes Store', then 'Account Management' then 'Apple ID account security' - this seems to be the nearest relevant option. -

I have been trying to send my Non Apple friends/family messages from my I Pad. How do I get this to work??
It won't. iMessage isn't an SMS service. It's for Apple-to-Apple and uses cellular data. SMS uses a cellular SMS plan, which does not come with your iPad. You'd have to have a cell phone to send texts like that. Alternatively, you can find an instant messaging app like Skype (they do messaging, not just video chat) or MSN Messenger that goes across platforms. You install it, they install it, you can chat with them.

In trying to set up mobile email, I input wrong server and now it keeps trying to verify. How do I get out?
1. Close all open apps - double-click the Home button and swipe up on all of the thumbnails for all open apps
2. Reset the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your issues are resolved

Many thanks for your help on this. The instructions provided with the tv box were typically difficult to follow perhaps because Apple try to cover all languages etc. I also found the control on my iPad that pulls from the bottom of the screen and allows the iPad to control the tv. The SMTP settings are separate from the POP or IMAP settings within Mail.app (which can be a little confusing), and the SMTP settings are incorrect. That could be some combination of the username or password, the SMTP server name, the TCP port, whether or not SSL is in use or not. It's more common to have SSL enabled. All have to be correct. The required SMTP server settings do vary by mail provider, unfortunately. You can use Connection Doctor to get more details on the particular error; Window > Connection Doctor, then open the drawer for a look at additional details. If you're not able to resolve the error from that output and from the mail provider's available documentation, and establish the connection, please scrub any personal details from the detailed diagnostics, and post that output here.

I have different icloud and iTunes id's and I want to do homesharing for all my devices. I'm trying to set up a new iMac but homesharing is not working. Should it be the itunes or iCloud id?

Preferably your iTunes account, but it shouldn't really matter for getting homesharing turned on, as long as it's a valid ID. -
I am trying to set up a mail account but I get a warning that my password cannot be sent securely to the server. How do I correct this so that I can set up my email account?
1. If you haven't tried this already, just delete the user account entirely, and then try setting it up again.
2. To find the permissions file:
a. hold down the option key
b. go to the Go menu in the finder
c. scroll down to Library and open it
d. in Library, go to Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences
e. drag it to the trash and restart.
3. if that doesn't work, go to Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access. In the Keychain Access menu, do Keychain First Aid, and repair.
This should keep you busy for a while. -

THe iTunes gift code is an optional field, you don't have to fill it in - gift cards are an alternative method of paying for iTunes content, but as they are not available inall countries (and they are country-specific, they can only be used in the country in which they were issued), you may not be able to fill it in anyway. If they are available in your country then you might be able to buy cards from Apple, supermarkets, electrical stores etc
If you have a credit card then you can use that as your payment method instead. Otherwise there are instrutions on this page for how to create a new account without giving a credit card number (it won't with existing, or partially created, accounts) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 -
I'm trying to set up a sync account but when I get to the window with the "Create a new account" and "Connect" nothing happens when I push either of the buttons.
By the way, this is in the brand new Firefox 4, not an extension.

Did you reboot the TC? That is always the first step.
Reboot the whole network if that is not enough.
If you still have issues.. come back to us but generally the best way is to factory reset the TC and start over.
We need a bit more info on the whole network layout and what OS you are running. What model TC you have??
