Hi, Thank you so much for the info.... I really do appreciate it. We had the laptop updated by way of a system upgrade with RAM and an additional SSD drive. Once reconfigured all programs were reinstalled but Iphoto is not among them. Iphoto was on the laptop when purchased so we have no additional discs. Before the laptop was updated we backed the photos up to an extrenal hard drive so we have them, but cant access them. Could I purchase Iphoto 8 stll? Would this work? We would also require an external CD drive as we no longer have the disc drive in the laptop (I think the extra new bits took over). You may have noticed I have very limited knowledge on computers so any help dispite how simple it may sound to some would help me greatly. I just want all my photos back .... Thanks inadvance... Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

The first back up to iCloud may take some considerable time. Just how long isn't really possible to say without knowing how much is in your back up and your connection speed.

I assume that this started after the update and you were able to download before. Start with some basic troubleshooting.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Power cycle your router, unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to download again.

I continue to be unable to access any of my iBooks on my new iPad 2, even though I've updated to iOS 8.1.2. Any thoughts?

I upgraded to an ipad 2 around the same time as I upgraded to iOS 8.1, and I haven't been able to access any of my iBooks from my previous ipad. They are present in my iTunes. They all appear in my ipad's iBook app, but they're all grayed out. I have tried to reload them from iTunes to no avail. I've tried to reload them on the ipad via the iTunes store, but they give an eternal "downloading" message and never actually download. I've tried removing the books to see if I could repurchase them, but I can't do that. All of my books are stuck in an eternal stasis. I tried to call the help line -- they walked me so far back through the basic steps that I'd already tried that I ran out of time, and I've been unable to reconnect with them to solve my open case. I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I thought it was a bug that they'd likely fix, but the last iOS update only fixed the ringtone bug (that sounds similar to what's going on with my iBooks). Can anyone help?

I would be helpful to know what those "basic steps" you have already tried are, but lacking that information:
Settings app > iTunes & App Stores - sign out of your AppleID
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
Sign back into your AppleID (same location as noted above)

Unable to access any Google site

I'm having a weird problem since morning. I try to access Google homepage or any Google service website, I'm redirected to itimes.com. I have been unable to access my email due to this. If i enter just the websites name in the address bar, i get an error message saying "URL not found". If i try to access Google in Chrome or IE, its working fine. I had faced a similar problem earlier when i tried to access a specific website i was taken to some other website. but the problem was fixed on its own after an hour or two. But not able to access Google on Firefox for a whole day is crippling and irritating. I'm using Firefox 3.6.7 with Weave, Firebug, ColorZilla and MeausureIt addons. Until this problem is fixed i will have to use my second favorite browser, Chrome. Thanks for any solutions.

After loading music from laptop using iTunes I am unable to activate any app I have downloaded? Any suggestions

Try Demo's suggestion.
Also try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Then turn it back on.

What happens when you try? Do you get an error message.
disconnect from the wifi and try on cellular data, if you can access the apps, then the problems lies with your router.

Unable to access any file on my iPod after a problem with a pics transfer

Hi,
I was downloading the pictures from my camera to my iPod video 30Go when something happened.
After that, I was (and still am) unable to play music or watch movies or the pictures in the library. Actually, all the names still remain but when I select any item, it is like void...
When I tried to re-do the picture downloading, the iPod is unable to get connected with the camera. Also, the rolls of the previous pictures I downloaded on the iPod does not appear anymore.
Does anybody know what to do to get it work again and most of all to retrieve the pictures previously downloaded from my camera?

Try rebooting your iPod.
1) Slide the lock button to ON.
2) Slide the lock button to OFF.
3) Press 'menu' and 'centre' button together for several seconds.
If that doesn't work, try the same thing with an extra bit that forces it into disk mode:
1) Slide the lock button to ON.
2) Slide the lock button to OFF.
3) Press 'menu' and 'centre' button together for several seconds.
4) When/if you see the Apple logo, press 'centre' and 'play/pause' buttons together for several seconds.

I have a Apple Mac desktop and recently was unable to access any YouTube, movies, videos, etc because a "Blocked Plug-in" message comes up with no error message. It asks to upload Abode Reader, but upon completion of this the message is the same.

if you already downloaded the adobe flash player onto your mac and still getting that message that means you need to finish the installation of the flash player
you do this by opening a finder window and going to your downloads, find the flash player in here and then double click on it and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
after this is completed you will need to completely quit out of the web browser you're using then reopen it for the change to take affect and your issue should be resolved. if it's not you need to contact adobe their number is 800 642-3623.
