I am unable to add hotmail account into my ipad 2. Hotmail says the problem is with apple since I can access the account in all other devices except my ipad. I need to get pass, "unable to verify my account information" Apple personnel appear helpless
I have an Ipad2 and have tried severally to re-add my hotmail account but couldn't. In collaboration with Apple personnel today (10/17/2012), we routed the Settings and General via the home page but solution appears elusive. I can't get pass "Unable to verify your account information" Hotmail feedback has it that the problem is with the iPad since I can access the hotmail account on my laptop, desktop, and smart phone, Can someone please help me in this matter.
I see you have resolved this problem but for anyone else trying to sort out their Hotmail account on their iPad try the following:
Try deleting your Hotmail account from your iPad/iPhone (making sure you can access your emails from your PC or other device as all your email history will also be deleted). Then under Settings go to 'Add an account' and click 'Other'(don't use the Hotmail heading). Fill in the required details for your Hotmail account and wait for account to be verified. This has just worked for me. Good luck!

All other devices are working normally. Is this a fault wityh my ipad or have I inadvertantly altered some setting?Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

When trying to order an iPhoto book I keep getting the following message:
"Unable to verify credit card information please try again"

Would appreciate someones help on this.Last year, and again this year, I was able to buy one iphoto calendar but then when I wanted to buy another to send to a different address, i kept getting the same error message, no matter how many times i double checked and re-entered my billing info. i finally figured out what to do (if i remember correctly, this came from apple customer service after many frustrating back and forths last year):
- go to the "buy calendar" window
- click "account info"
- click "edit shipping address"
- add a new address (the one you want to ship to)
- make that new address the default address
- delete all other addresses
- then buy it
it's really clunky, but it works for me. i'm assuming this will work for iphoto books, too. -
I just bought an iMac now running OSX 10.8.4. I have a G5 running OXS 10.5.8 - External HD connected to the G5 been using Time Machine to back up. Need to get my files, photos etc. but not applications etc. onto the iMac. How do I do it?

Not those whole folders, but their contents, maybe.
If the user account now on the Mac has read rights to the user account(s) on the backups, yes. If not, you may have to do some finagling.
Try the Browse Other Backup Disks option, per Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #17. If you find an account that can open those folders, restore what you want to an alternate location (#16 in the FAQ).
If not try creating one or more accounts temporarily. -
I deleted one of the email accounts from my i5 because I don't like all the password popups since upgradingto ios 7.2, and now ALL calendar entries are gone! I need them!!! Can anyone help?
Well you need to add the email account back to get the calendar entries. Transfer them to another email provider. Then delete the account you don't want.

Try force-closing the Mail app: from the home screen, double-tap the home button, locate Mail in the list at the bottom, tap an hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button again.

UPDATE: it is possible to remove an iCloud affiliation from a device when the maximum number of free accounts has been used. I used the "reset and erase" option from Settings | General | Reset | Erase All Content and Settings. When this was finished, the iPod was like new - not just "restored" as we can do within iTunes and I had done with this device - it was legitimately restored. I signed in with my son's newly created Apple ID and it was accepted and now the device works like a charm. It also still uses my Apple ID and password for the iTunes and App stores, however I have restrictions in place to prohibit him from downloading or buying any content. I hope this helps anyone else that has reported this question. -

My computer was hacked using a softbank pocket wifi, I had to install an earlier version of the disc provided for my mac reset my user password and I still need to recover my administrator password that was altered. I have lost all of my applications already existing on my mac including iPhoto, and all other applications. I am wondering how to get them back? I am in Japan and I have proof of purchase in my iTunes, but on my computer all the allplications are blocked. I have no idea what to do to get them back. It is very annoying.

Every time I plug my iPhone 5s (32 GB) into my macbook pro, iTunes says: The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (1723). And none of my recently bought songs or my ringtones will transfer to my iPhone. I have iOS 8.1.2. I have only had this iPhone for about a month and a half. A week ago when I plugged it in it would say something along the lines of " This iPhone cannot be synced because the Photo library is not set up. Please try again later." What does that even mean? And now it is saying that it can't sync because of an unknown error. Well, how do I fix this? I have not yet downloaded the Yosemite update because it got horrible reviews and everyone I've talked to said their computer has gotten extra slow because of it so I was wondering if I need to download Yosemite so my iPhone will sync. I have tried turning my computer on and off, quitting and reopening iTunes, restarting my iPhone, and nothing has worked. I would really like to be able to transfer my music and ringtones etc. onto my phone.

The current iPhoto version is 9.6. You are probably behind there as well, and that likely caused the first "photo ..." error. As you may know, iOS is changing its approach to managing photos in iOS 8, so I would imagine it would be important to be current with this application. -
I purchased a MyBook Studio 4gb external hard drive. I can't get it to work properly. WD have assessed it and say its fine and that the problem is with Apple? Any ideas?

So in Disk Utility, with the external harddrive selected, go to the Partition tab, and then under "Partition Layout:" select 1 Partition.
After than, verify that it is formatting the drive as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled) under "Partition Information"
Also verify that it's using using the GUID Partition Map under the Options button at the lower left of this window.
Then click apply and confirm that you want to format the drive. It will ask you if you're sure, and probably for an Administrator password.
Once your harddrive is formatted properly, you should be able to use Time Machine, or any other Mac backup software.

My Ipad2 works fine except when I try to email myself a link to a safari webpage. I get an error message saying that the message failed to connect to the server. It says that a copy of the message has been left in the outbox. I cannot get the message from the outbox. All other email and safari functions work as expected.
I have cleared data and cookies, powered down, and done a reset. Nothing seems to help.Typing in additional text seems to get the job done. This seems to be a feature of the latest IOS update, I have never had the problem before the last update.
I use the box with the arrow just to the left of the URL block at the top of the page to send myself links to pages of interest. Adding the extra text seems like a pointless step, but it does work.

Since iTunes updated my PC my other devices are not seen and I keep getting message "The procedure entry point sqlite 3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite 3.dll", how do I get my other devices to be found? or do I have to remove all Apple software.
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Now paste it in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

All my entries in 'notes' have disappeared. I had several different 'notes' entered over the last few months but when I opened the app recently, all of them had gone. Any way of getting them back? This has happened once before but they just popped back in a few days later. No such luck this time.

Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
