I am unable to choose "selected calendars" to sync

I don't have a current version of Outlook to sync the calendar with, but I was going to try the new Google calendar that supposedly uses the correct file that would work with ipod. However, on iTunes the only thing I can choose is "sync calendars from Microsoft Outlook". I wanted to try "selected calendars" and try the Google calendar. When I do choose , calendars from Microsoft I get the error message "iTunes cannot sync calendars to the ipod" . What do I need to do here? I have calendars enabled on the ipod and have enabled disc use as well. Please send HELP!

You may take charge of the error bar values. Add a column to your table for the error amounts and use it to drive the Custom Error Bar value fields.

Unable to choose "Selected albums, events and faces..." when Syncing photo

I am unable to choose "Selected albums, events and faces ..." from the Photos tab when syncing my iPhone. There are several albums set up in my iPhoto but the only choice I am allowed to make is "All photos, albums and faces". The other choice is grayed out.
My iPhoto version is 8.1.1 and my iTunes version is 9.0.2 and OSX is 10.6.2.
Does anyone have any ideas why this would be happening?

Hello - I had the exact same problem that you had. Looking through various discussion sites, the problem seems to be in the Albumdata.xml file in my iPhoto Library. (Visible through Pictures/iPhoto_LIbrary then by selecting "show package contents" through the right click.) When that file is corrupted, iTunes is unable to see albums, events, etc.
I'm guessing that the song for one of my slideshows in iPhoto had a song that had an "&" in it, because when I deleted the slideshow, the problem was solved. This also happened with another user in another discussion forum that I looked through - in his case, he just changed the song. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=355813) Hope this helps.

Unable to choose 'selected folders' in iTunes

help guys! im using Windows XP and my problem is can't choose 'selected folders' in Photos section of my iTunes. what should i do?

I'm running itunes 9.2 with iOS4 on my 3Gs..
After I upgrade to 9.2, I found that under "info" tab, all my selected group disappear both on my contacts & calendars. then i tried several fix and now problem solved.. hope following tips can help.
1) make sure your outlook, tools/Trust Center/add-ins : both 1) itunes outlook addin and 2) Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service is *active & loaded*
2) On ur itunes/iphone section : hen u switch between tabs ( info/photos/music/app....) each time if u back to info section, an apple program call " mingler.exe " will be executed and check on the outlook contact & calendar section to refresh the groups, the reasons that groups doesn't show up mainly because this program didn't run. So what I did is uninstall itunes, then goto C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple and delete the whole Mobile Device Support folder, then restart ur PC. Now reinstall itunes, and the Mobile Device Support will be installed back, U may rename the old folder as backup as well. After itunes installed, plug in ur iphone, and switch to info tab, groups may not show ye, so u have to switch to other tab and back to info again, coz each switch will trigger itunes to run the Mingler.exe and to refresh the contact & calendar groups.
U can also open task manager to see whether mingler.exe is running, in my case, i need to wait few minutes until mingler.exe start to run, and it takes another few minutes to wait for the groups to show under itunes. Once the mingler.exe is running, u can be sure the groups will show up on ur itunes.

I have a problem. Indeed, i'd like to choose one of my two calendars to sync, but i don't know how to fix it. When i sync my ical with another computer, this person can see all of my calendars, whereas i'd like him to have access to my professional calendar only.

.Mac Sync has no provision to selectively synchronize calendars. It's an all-or-nothing proposition.
SyncTogether, from Mark/Space, will allow you to select individual calendars and independently synchronize events and tasks across users on your machine, on your local subnet, or across the broader internet. In your situation, a single license would allow you to create a SyncTogether server and two clients, one for each of you, with which you could selectively synchronize all of the .Mac Sync data types with the exception of keychains. Adding subsequent users would require the purchase additional licenses for each set of up to three additional users.

I installed iCloud PC control panel. Everything works except of calendar. iCloud created a new calendar in Outlook (syncing this calendar works). But I cannot define this iCloud Calendar as a standard calendar because it has a differend ending (.aplzod). But it has to be my standard calendar, so that I see the entries on the first page and emailview (outlook alows here just entries from the standard calendar).
I solution would be, that I could sync this standard calender with iCloud, but then there has to be an option in the control panel to say which calendar to sync. Does anyone has a Betaversion of the control panel program where this is possible?

ich habe die iCloud Systemsteuerung auf meinem PC installiert. Diese hat einen neuen Kalender in Outlook erzeugt, den man auch synchronisieren kann. Allerdings wird dieser Kalender nicht im Hauptbildschirm von Outlook angezeigt, da es kein Standardkalender ist.
Den iCloud Kalender kann man allerdings nicht als Standard definieren, da es keine .pst Datei ist sondern eine .aplzod.

For me, I only need to "see" the content of my main Outlook calendar in iCloud, but not modify it. For that matter, I was thinking back to the solution of how to access iCloud from my iPhone 3G which I cannot upgrade to iOS5. The solution was found at:

When I tried to use the Outlook function to publish my main Outlook calendar to the internet -> Publish to WebDAV server, I receive an error message, no matter whether I use the short address
p01-caldav.icloud.com
or a full version with http://www or https:// as prefix.
So I wonder whether MS is once again deviating from web standards or I just haven't been able to figure out the correct WebDAV or CalDAV address to publish.
Anyone any idea?

Calendar - Unable to choose calendar to sync with

I signed up to MobileMe but found it a bit pointless and pricy seeing as I can do most of what it does for free.
But now in iTunes under Info> Calendar. I am unable to select a different calendar to sync to. It just says:
"Your calendars are being synced with your iPhone over the air from MobileMe"
But I don't want it to do this.
How do I switch to Outlook or another calendar?

Since the problem you are having is with iTunes this would be better posted there. Is this a first generation ATV? From the error it sounds like the option is selected to sync ATV with photos from a specific folder, and iTunes is not able to find that folder. If you look what folder is selected. Have you checked to see if that folder is present?

Unable to view the Calendar Year/Month in the Query

I was able to get the data. But I am unable to view the Calendar Year/month. In that place I am getting '#'.
I am able to view the details in the InfoCube. There aren't any errors while executing the error.

U r Problem is not clear...if u r getting # for characteristic values means..u don't have data in Infoprovider...try to view data in InfoProvider with the same selections that u r executing the Query with.

My iCloud account is set up with my Apple ID as one email account (for example [email protected]) which is the email account I use to sign up for internet sites like Amazon, Apple,etc, so that I can differentiate vendors/mass emails. But my default calendar on my iPhone is in a different email name (ie [email protected]) which I use for most communications to friends, relatives, etc. and it is this account that holds most of my appointments. To further complicate things I have other email accounts that I use for business/professional and community work. If I want all my calendars to show on my iPhone AND sync to my iCloud, do I set this at the phone level or the iCloud level? or both?
Let me clarify....It looks like if I go into appointments that I previously set up through my personal account (ie above [email protected]) and edit the entry on my iPhone, selecting the iCloud "home" calendar within the entry, it will then sync to my iCloud account, no problem....do I have to do this to EVERY entry I have? or is there a way to name my personal account as one to sync to iCloud?

Unable to choose Photoshop CS6 as default app for jpegs, Win7

Suddenly I'm unable to choose Photoshop CS6 as the default "Open with" app in Win7 when I'm attempting to open jpegs.
I updated Adobe Application Manager and it says Photoshop CS6 is installed and I'm able to open Photoshop CS6 without getting the "trial version" error any more -- although that was a problem until I updated AAM.

I know exactly the problem you are having and exactly how to fix it! (For Windows 7 and possibly others) I spent an hour trying to figure it out, and it is all because of bad registry values.
Cause:
First off, it is caused by uninstalling a previous version of Photoshop and then installing CS6. (But lingering folders and registry values still remain)
Symptoms:
When you try to change a file type association with the Open With dialogue, Photoshop CS6 never appears! Choosing "Other Programs" does not bring up Photoshop CS6, and Browsing will not add it to the list!
Workaround: (REAL FIX)
Click on the Start button.
Select the search programs and files. (You may need to enable this search field if you have it disabled.)
Type regedit (regedit.exe will appear only after typing regedit completely)
Select regedit.exe.
Click yes to allow access to it.
Be very careful with the following steps as editing the registry is dangerous!!
Navigaate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command
Double click on Default.
In the value data section you may notice a path to the previous application that doesn't exist anymore (root of problem)
Change it to the path of CS6 folder but keep the extra characters beyond Photoshop.exe
Hit ok. Then close out of this window.
NOW Photoshop CS6 will appear in the list! Enjoy!

Unable to choose foreign key when creating reference partition

I have 2 foreign keys on a table. I am trying to choose the 2nd foreign key when creating a reference partition. I am unable to select the required foreign key.
The model has Table A -> Table B -> Table C. Table A has a list partition. Table B is the child of Table A. I created a reference partition on Table B. Table C is child of Table B. There are 2 FKs on table C. I am unable to choose the required FK to create reference partition on table C.
SQL Developer version - 3.0.0.665
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
The FK that can be selected is normally the oldest FK that was created for the Table.
So one option would be to delete and then recreate the FK that is selectable. This process may need to be repeated if there are several FKs that are "older" than the one you wish to use for Reference Partitioning.

TS3274 Unable to choose books by author after IBooks upgrade

I have just upgraded my IBooks on my IPad 1 (iOS5.1.1). Now if I am in the browse mode I am unable to choose books to purchase. Each time I click on an author I am asked to click on author to see books. I have tried removing IBooks from my IPad and reloading it and still have the same issue. Since I am using an IPad1 iOS5.1.1 is the most up to date operating system I can put on so I can't try upgrading to iOS6.0. Is there a work around for this problem?

There are a few categorical places one must visit in order to synchronize iBooks for Mac with IOS iBooks. There is no need to remove the iBook for Mac application.
System Preferences > iCloud > Documents and Data is enabled
IOS Settings > iBooks > Sync Collections (enabled) and optionally Sync Bookmarks (enabled)Assumption that iCloud is enabled on the IOS device with documents and data enabled

Unable to choose X-Fi in BF2 after last dri

It sounds many people are having trouble with BF2 in Vista. I have this trouble. I wonder if anyone has this too and if the problem is the current driver. I had tested only two games. BF2 and Flight Simulator X demo. The latter is 5. speaker?s sound. The former is 2. speaker sound. The problem with BF2 is this. I cannot choose X-Fi, only hardware. With that configuration, I can choose Ultra high. However, the sound is 2. only during the game and the movie in the beginning. When I choose X-Fi, I get the following message. You sound hardware is incompatible with settings you selected. Please reset your audio settings to default settings in order to hear sound and music. Previous driver did not say that at all. I mean WinXP 64bit driver. I have Vista 64bit 5744. I was able to choose X-Fi and Ultra high and it seemed 5. sounds. However, with that driver I was unable to choose surround sounds. It was gray out. I have only stereo sound. This last driver, which is Vista beta, I am able to choose and test with no problems 7. speakers? sounds. The bad news is BF2 is only 2., as I said already. Does anyone have the same problem? Any solution if this is the case? Can that be problem with the driver or the game?

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm running Vista 32-bit and tried the OpenAL trick and it works fine. I can hear surround sounds perfectly in BF2 and in the operating system. Granted the sound quality isn't as good now that I can't select X-Fi and Ultra High in the settings, but at least I can hear when somebody's trying to sneak up behind me. Maybe it's a problem with the 64-bit driver or 64-bit Vista. Who knows...but I just wanted to let you know that I was able to get it working with the OpenAL trick. Now, if I can just get Ventrilo to work for longer than 30 mins before messing up...that'd be swell.

Are you properly selecting the content to sync in iTunes? I mean you have all of the headings - Sync Music, Sync Movies, etc. checked to sync and all of the content as well?
Is the iPad signed into the same iTunes account as your PC? You are using the same Apple ID and iTunes account on both devices. On the iPad go to Settings>Store>Apple ID - is that the same ID that your iTunes library is using?
Lastly, did you ever transfer the purchases from your iPad to the PC? Is all of the content that you have on the iPad in your iTunes library?
I can't think of any other reasons why the iTunes on the PC as seeing this as a new iPad.

I cannot choose selected folders in photos. I just downloaded version 4.3.4 and I am still unable to do this. I had no problem with this until the last two updates. Any ideas?

Perhaps a bit more detail on what your problem is would help. Are you using a Mac or PC? What photo software on your computer? Are you talking about albums when you mention folders. Is iTunes involved here when you speak of folders?
Note iOS 4.3.4 only contains a fix for a PDF problem.

If the hard drive that crashed is the one that stored the itunes library, be sure to restore the library from Time Machine (mac) or whatever backup you use on windows. That will get back your music. I suspect that the replacement drive has an empty itunes library and thus, perhaps, the itunes match used that to sync to its servers.
Try posting in the iTunes Match forum, you'll probably find more knowledgeable folks there.
