I am unable to consistently obtain good focus on my t4i

I am unable to get consistently good sharp pictures with my t4i even though I use a tripod. It seems that the auto-focus area is too large and it picks up and focuses on an object in a different plane. Is there any way around this - other than using manual focus? An example might be a bird on a branch in a tree where a foreground branch is in focus but the bird is not. I revert to live view and zoom in to focus manually but by the time I do this, the bird hs flown away.

Perhaps you're using poor lenses, but it’s not the camera.  The T4i has as good of resolution as you need.  With exception of some megapixel monster like the Nikon D800, you're not going to see a significant difference in the resolution unless you’re blowing these things up into huge prints.
Either your technique needs work, or your expectations are out of the league of consumer (and lower level pro) setups.

I found a flash attachment for the ipad 2, but it does not work with the ipad 4.

    I'm sorry to hear that.
    I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago.  I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
    Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
    Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all.  I can go weeks between syncs.
    Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist.  Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
    Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff).  Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
    Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for.  It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do.

  • Canon SX50 consistently out of focus pictures

    I bought the Canon SX50 Power Shot about 4 months ago and have taken at least 8000 photos in that time.  Mostly birds and wild life.  I understand apppeture, Shuter speed and ISO for the most part and typically use the manual option.  The auto mode usually doesn't give me a high enough shutter speed for my subjects. I am so frustrated with this camera at this point.  I can't believe how poor most of the photos are.  I have the IS set at continous and most photos are taken at the full 1200 mm. If I try the continous shooting it is slow and clunky.  And doesn't capture what I want. I realize I am new at this but I am missing something.  I have thought of selling the camera and getting something different but I love not having to change lenses and the nice zoom. I have attached a couple of untouched images.  None of which are the nice crisp photos I am after and I am definitely unable to print anything (espically if the ISO is too high). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! I had another image I wanted to upload but its too big.  I have no idea how to change its size.

    I am going out to experiment today with keeping my zoom to 600-800mm. Someone else told me the same thing. 600-800 would be an acceptable zoom provided I can keep the camera still. And yes I do struggle with the camera wanting to focus on other than my subject. I take a lot of photos of birds in the trees so branches and leaves, tiny stems cause focusing issues.
    I will report back after.
    Ksl232323Good you decide to back off some zoom range, you will get much better results.  Because of the lower IQ of the Canon SX HS super zoom cameras I got a DSLR for IQ, and use my SX60 for longer zoom range.  To get a good DSLR lens in the longest range of the SX50 would cost a fortune.  I have a Canon DSLR, and Canon EF 70-300mm L  lens that cost 3 times as much as the SX50, but the furthest range is only 300mm.  That's only one of the difference in DSLR's and Powershot HS Bridge Camera .....IQ vs zoom.   With the SX50 we sacrifice IQ for more zoom, and the DSLR's sacrifice Zoom range for better IQ and superior build, within a given price range.   To get the best of both worlds in one body would cost a small fortune.  Most guys I know, including myself  get excellent results with DSLR lens in the range of 200-600mm.   Saying that to say that the Powershot SX HS camera's can get very good pics in that range also.  In fact I've had the Canon SX40, SX50, and now the SX60, and I could swear I got way better results with my SX40, that only had 35X zoom.  I really miss my SX40 now, and think I went for the hipe, at the time, for longer zoom range and really lost out big time on IQ of my pics.  Looking back on pics I took with the SX40, I think they are better than those I took with my newer models.  I was much happier with the shorter zoom range.

  • CBO (10g): unable to estimate the good NL join cardinality

    if I use the hint ORDERED, the query runs instantly.
    Apparently, the CBO is mistaken when it estimates the join cardinality for NATACF and IAVOPE tables.
    Indeed, it estimates that the NESTED LOOP is going to return only a single row (column E-Rows) instead of 6757K rows (column A-Rows).
    By looking at the 10053 trace file we can see that the CBO is unable to estimate the join cardinality:

  • Obtaining good clipart for business use?

    I sincerely apologise if this is off-topic.
    I am designing a website which will be used commercially.
    I do not want to fall into the trap of using another persons artwork illegally.
    Does anyone know where I can purchase/download for professional use, a complete collection of clipart with business theme.
    I have searched all over the web but it's a minefield out there and I wonder where professional web developers obtain their clipart from if they have not the means to create it themselves.
    I do not mind paying for a DVD or able to download a collection, but it has to be legally allowed to use for business use without fear of being sued.
    Thank you in advance

  • Unable to set the Cursor focus on a particular field in OA Page

    Hi,
    I have a custom page with 3 controllers . Now when i delete a row from the Advance table, the focus of the cursor goes to the top of the page. My requirement is that, the focus should remain in the Advance table region itself.
    I tried to set the focus using the below code. It dosent work. Could there be an issue since iam using more than one controller for the page?
    OABodyBean bodyBean = (OABodyBean)pageContext.getRootWebBean();
    bodyBean.setInitialFocusId("item164"); // item164 is the messageTextInput field in the Advance table region.
    I tried to get the Initialfocus value after its set. The value shows as 'item164'. However , it doesnt focus on that item.
    Please help me out in fixing this issue.
    Thanks
    AG

    Hi,
    Thanks for the Info. Can you help me with this java script or if you can provide me any reference it would be hepful.
    Basically the focus has to stay in that particular AdvanceTable region where the row is deleted. Not required that the focus has to point to the next row after the delete.
    Thanks

  • Unable to do a goods issue with a movement type with no consumption posting

    Dear Colleagues,
    I have a customer who sellls books, some of these books are printed on demand and hence no inventory is maintained and other books manage inventory as stocks are maintained.
    SD Orders and deliveries are managed for these products.
    However , the customer would like a process in the SAP delivery document to represent the goods leaving the printing plants, ie the goods issue.
    As for materials that do not manage inventory are not visible from the VL06G ( Outbound deliveries for goods issue) transaction. I configured a 'dummy' movement type and assigned it to a schedule line.
    The movement type has the setting 'consumption posting' removed.
    After doing this, the deliveries show up in VL06G, but when attempting to do the post goods issue, I get the following error message  "Deficit of SL Unrestricted-use "
    I have checked all the config that I know and there should not be any availability checks, but shome how it is being checkad at goods issue. Help!!! What am I missing?
    Many thanks
    Henry

    Hello
    From my point of view you need to use a Non Stock Material  (Material type: NOST)  to manage the books .
    then you sell books as you are selling service

  • Deleted Delivery Unable to do the Goods receipt reversal

    Hello Experts,
    Instead of deleting the particular delivery line items, user has deleted the STO delivery completely by using VL02N transaction code. Now in the purchase order history we have only GR and invoice document related to STO. (We already reversed the billing and deleted the delivery)
    Now we are unable to reverse the GR and getting the error "Delivery cannot be updated". This error because of the deleted delivery.
    Please advice how to proceed further. Now the overall from accounts it is showing imbalance.
    Please note, we are doing STO between company code to company code.
    Regards
    Rifaie M

    Satish,
    From you, i understood that for cancelling the GR i have to give delivery number reference.
    But in my case the delivery number itself deleted. I do not have delivery number in purchase order history. This has been deleted by the end user by mistakenly.
    Please advice

  • Unable to post the goods issue document

    Hi,
    when i try to post goods issue after creating the transfer order i am getting the error as "Posting only possible in periods 2010/01 and 2009/12 in company code LU09" . so could you please tell me  where i have to change the posting period for my company code.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Rajeswari

    Hi Kesav,
    Use the transaction MMPV and close the previous period for ex the last period  open for your transaction is DEC 2009 so close it in the transaction MMPV so automatically next period will get open.

  • Unable to do PGI, Goods Movement error

    Hi
    I am working on IDES after very longtime, This is regular posting period error. When I try to do PGI I am getting error " Posting only possible in periods 2002/11 & 2002/10 in company code 3000" . Then I had opened posting periods in OB52 for period 1 from 1/2000 to 07/2008 and  While doing MMPV for company code 3000 and 06/2008 I got another  error " Incorrect period in control record of company code 3000, no conversion the current period (Month/Year) of control record is 11/2002". Kindly help in this issue.
    Regards
    Nagendra

    Nagendra,
    You need to close the posting periods from 12/2002 to 07/2008 manually for each months by trnsaction code MMPV.
    As the current period is 11/2002, you need to close 12 / 2002 at first. Go to transaction MMPV, Enter your company code, period as 12 and year as 2002, execute. The system will give a message that the company code converted. That means the period 12 /2002 is closed.
    Now using the same procedure close 01/2003, then 02/2003, 03/2003, 04/2003 ......close upto 07/2008 for each month. Once you close 07/2008, you should be able to do the PGI in the current period.

  • Unable to print a good 8x10

    I shoot in RAW and photo is perfect as a 4x6, 5x7, but when I print to 8x10, it's not a full 8x10.  If I do "zoom to fit" it cuts part of the photo.  How can I make a 4x6 and a 8x10 look the same?

    You cannot. Ansel couldn't. Nobody can take a 4 x 6 RATIO and turn it into an 8 x 10 ratio without chopping a bit, or stretching, or some such.
    You'll have to recrop to the correct ratio in order to print an 8 x 10. If you go back to the original, better cropping is likely to result than if you start cropping from the 4 x 6 (which equals an 8 x 12).

  • Unable to consistently keep XBOX Live party with multiple consoles from same location.

    I have FIOS (Actiontec MI424WR Rev E with firmware 20.10.7.5) and am having problems staying in a party when running two XBOX 360 consoles.  Both Xbox's are connected to the router wirelessly.   We often like to crreate our own party (of 2) and play the same game (usually COD Black Ops).  The problem is we can both log into XBOX Live without problems.  However, if we create our own party (of 2) and play the same game we run into trouble.  The party may be fine for a random amount of time (minutes or hours), but then one of two scenarios happen.  We either get kicked out of the party and cannot rejoin it.   Or, we remain in the party, but but cannot play together in the same multiplayer map of the same game.  Usually, when this happens I can reboot the router (via the on/off switch) or I have to unplug it for 10 seconds and plug it back in and things work fine for another random amount of time.
    I've enabled UPNP and deleted the port forwarding rules for XBOX Live that were already present on the router.  In fact there are numerous port forwarding rules defined (by Verizon?) for games and other applications that I know I did not create nor do we use.   Anyway, with UPNP enabled, one XBOX has an open NAT while the other always has moderate.
    What else can I do to get multiiple XBOX 360 consoles to be able to join XBOX Live and stay in the same party, playing the same game.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I found a couple of postings of users with the MI424WR Rev E (firmware not specified) who simply turned on UpNp and were able to get multiple xbox 360s online at the same time via the same router.
    That got me to thinking...  I have an older Xbox 360 (circa 2007) that does not have WiFi built in.  So, I am using a gaming adapter that has been assigned a static IP.  My understanding is that UpNp requires DHCP and not static IPs.  So, I am wondering if the  game adapter with its static IP is causing the problem, even though the Xbox it is connected to does NOT have a static IP.
    Will be testing this theory tonight when I connect the Xbox directly into the router (no WiFi).  If that works than I will put the Xbox back where it normally sits and re-configure the game adapter to DHCP and give it a go.

  • JDesktop automatically get focus

    I have a JDesktop with many different classes of JInternalFrames. when the user clicks a JButton in frame#1 and then wants to click a JButton in frame#2, the user must obtain focus on frame#2 and then only after obtaining focus can the user click the jbutton in that frame. basically, unless the user has been "working" in this particular frame, the first time he does something he must "double click"
    What is my solution around this? here is what i want:
    if a user clicks any X,Y point on the JDesktop and that X,Y point happens to be the location of a JInternalFrame, then it would be the same as if the user already had focus to the frame and clicked that area.
    I tried to do some code like this for the JDesktop:
    public class myFrame extends JFrame {
    JDesktopPane myDesktop;
    myFrame() {
    myDesktop = new JDesktopPane();
    getContentPane().add(myDesktop, BorderLayout.Center)
    this.addMouseMotionListener(new DesktopListener(this));
    private class DesktopListener implements MouseMotionListener {
    JFrame parent;
    public DesktopListener(JFrame frame) {
    parent = frame;
    public void mouseDragged(MouseEvent e) {}
    public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent e) {
    // OKAY HERE IS WHERE I AM STUCK
    Okay, i am stuck on what to do with mouseMoved() of the motionlistener. i know i can e.getX() and e.getY(), but how do to:
    1) determine if that coordinate is actually a JInternalFrame
    2) give the JInternalFrame focus at that coordinate focus
    and 3) is this the best solution to do what i am trying to accomplish? i am trying to avoid forcing the user to obtain frame focus when clicking components in a frame. i dont necessary want to bring the JInternalFrame to the front, i just want to avoid having to click to get focus
    thanks

    I implemented your approach, which definitely makes good sense. i ran into two problems:
    1) it only fires the event when the mouse is on the border. if i move the mouse slowly into the internalframe, the event will probably fire. but if i move quickly into the frame, then it never fires. if i put the mouse on the border and stay there for a second, it will always fire.
    2) it brings the internalframe to the front. if the internalframe is covered by another frame, i would prefer that it doesnt come to the front, but just gets the focus.
    any ideas?
    Maybe you should try a different approach:
    try adding a MouseMotionListener to the internalframes
    which will do this.
    //jdp is an instance of JDesktopPane
    MouseMotionAdapter  mma=new MouseMotionAdapter()
    public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent me)
    JInternalFrame
    rnalFrame jif=(JInternalFrame)me.getSource();
    jdp.getDesktopManager().activateFrame(jif);
    JInternalFrame jif=new JInternalFrame("whatever");
    jif.addMouseMotionListener(mma);I belive it should work well.
    p.s.
    what do you mean
    (parent.getContentPane().getComponentAt(e.getX(),e.getY
    ))); did not work?
    if you do not want my approach check what does that
    function return to you.

  • Unable to install Adobe Reader 11.0.04 in Mavericks

    Installer downloads and installs OK. No error messages.
    Installation then continues normally until halfway through "Retrieveing Install" Connection fails,
    My internet connection is stable. All other downloads and installations work
    I keep getting the same error message
    "Connection failed. Unable to complete installation".

    Good morning Sanjampet
    There is no previous version of Reader installed.
    Unfortunately Preview doesn't allow me to open PDF files on various websites
    One in particular being Vodafone where I try to open and download my mobile telephone bills
    Because I have no Reader installed, it gives me a blank black screen
    Was working fine with Mountain Lion
    Having Reader installed in Windows 7 on Bootcamp means I can workaround the problem
    But it seems wrong to have to go to Microsoft for a workaround for an Apple computer
