I am unable to delete apps on iPhone 5

After looking at other similar questions, I can find no answer.
For some reason, I can no longer delete apps from my iPhone 5 running 6.1.4. I am doing everything the way you are supposed to, but nothing. What I end up with is a bunch of jiggling icons, the one I am trying to delete has its "x" blacked out, but it doesn't delete. There is no message asking if I am sure I want to delete this app. I have to do a hard rest in order to get back to normal.
This happen regardless the app I am trying to delete, so there is no one offending app causing the problem. I've checked restrictions and am able to delete. This is just weird and more than a little bit frustrating. I do not want to keep going into iTunes to delete apps from my iPhone. I shouldn't have to anyway.
Everything else appears fine. No problems on my iPad or iPod Touch.
Any assistance will be most welcome!

If there is No 'X' on any apps you have Downloaded... then check in Restrictions... Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps = Off / On

Can't delete apps on iphone 5

When i try to delete an app the icons wiggle, the x appears briefly in the left hand corner and then disappears, leaving me unable to delete any apps. I have checked the restrictions so this is not the problem - can anyone help? The phones battery life has also suddenly shortened drastically, without use it has about 3 hours standby time. Not sure if these things are related?

Make sure the app is terminated by double clicking the home button, and then swipe up and away the index material that sits above the app's icon.
Also, try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignoring the red slider if that appears.
That should reset the iPhone and see how it behaves after that.

HT1222 iOS 7 won't let me delete apps on iphone

I have apps that are meant for iPad now on my iPhone. I do have an iPad, and updated it also. Not all the apps from my iPad are on my iPhone. Just a few. They are stuck in waiting limbo and are dark. I am unable to delete them-I click the x, click delete, and they are still there. Help!

I Thought with new iPhones and iPads we wouldn't need to connect to a PC to get to iTunes to fix things. I'm having the same problem as above. Two apps don't belong on my iPhone. They were on my iPad, they are in limbo and my iPhone will not update to ios7.2 because it says there are apps that need to update. This is my second iPhone 5s after trying to get a better iPhone because of Sensorgate. This is getting old. I've never had these kind of issues with my previous iPhones. I'm kind of wishing I never "upgraded". Any other solutions? Is apple going to address these things. Is there a way to NOT delete apps from iPhone?

I know, odd question. However, sometimes my son gets a hold of my phone, holds his finger on the screen too long, and then he has the ability to delete apps. I can restore them during the sync, but I'm wondering if there is a way to shut this off without going the passcode lock route? I tried that and he started to make emergency calls!

Hi, I am unable to download apps to my iphone. It has allowed me to download two free apps two days ago. It is now giving me invalid address over and over. I have checked to make sure all is correct and it is. I do not have a credit or debit card. I am using a reloadable american express card. I am new to this so all the help I could get would be greatly appreciated.

I have also been having this trouble since I upgraded to OS 3.0
Before I was able to download apps over 3G but not it seems that i have them same problem where it tries to download it a few times then gives up. Sometimes I am able to download 1 app but then it wont do the rest. Such as when updating apps, itll do the first one on occasion then wont be able to do the rest.
I am able to download them over wi-fi fine and am also able to sync them from my computer to iphone. I have also tried different locations over 3G and have no change.
Any help would be appreciated.

Syncing music says will delete apps on iphone

I'm trying to sync music to my IPhone 4 and when I select songs and choose 'apply' a warning message pops up that says 'Are you sure you want to delete x number of apps from IPhone? This will delete the apps and their data? Cancel or Remove'
Has anyone else had this? Am I just not syncing things correctly? My apps are set to sync automatically, I haven't changed anything to do with Apps settings during this sync...

I have tried that but, as the apps does not appear in my iTunes, im not able to download them again. Then i will have to buy them (new) again and some of them not longer excist on iTunes store.

Unable to download app on iPhone 4

I have restored my iPhone to the factory settings(Current ver 7.1.2 (11D257)) . While installing any application from App Store it shows message as "Unable to Download App could not be downloaded at this time" though it works from iTunes connected to PC. Same with Safari browser, it gives message as "cannot open the page you are not connected to internet". I tried reconfiguring my ISP WI Fi Router, where as my other 2 Phones and laptop are browsing internet with no issues. Provided Static IP to the iPhone. Done Hard Rest of iPhone several times. Countless Switch Off - Switch On.
I found one catch here if I disconnects WI FI & use Cellular Data it works fine & If I remove the SIM Card from iPhone & use Wi Fi then also it works fine.
One more thing, couple of days after restoring iPhone I tried to restore it again but why it is trying to download entire 1.13 GB update again & again? whereas it has already have the same one installed?
Please suggest what more I need to do?

when I delete apps from my iphone 4, should space immediately free up? It seems like the available space is VERY slowly becoming available.... is this normal?

Yea I understand how to delete apps and what is taking up space. My problem is that when I delete an app... for example that takes up 100MB... only 5MB will become available... I'm not sure why 100MB doesn't become available when I delete it.

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.

IOS 7.1.1 iPad unable to delete apps

I downloaded a game from the App Store onto my iPad iOS 7.1.1
and don't like it but when I tried to delete it, all the icon shake but no "X" appears.
How do you delete apps? Found several tips online but none work because
no X's show up on shaking icons. Nothing will delete. i tried double-tapping
it & holding 2nd tap as suggested in another help. The app opens after the first
tap so never get to holding tap. Tried PC #1troubleshooting tool and powered
it off and charged it up. No go.
I Would appreciate advice. I'm afraid to update to 7.1.2 -have heard problems.

Unable to sync apps onto iPhone 4

Hey guys,
Just recently, I haven't been to sync some of my apps from iTunes on my computer to my iPhone 4. Whenever I try to sync them on, I get a message reading "Unable to install the app "[insert name]" onto the iPhone "[insert name]" because its resources have been modified. I haven't been playing around with any app modifications, and my iPhone is not jailbroken.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps, and even deleting from the iTunes library and redownloading the apps, but I still keep on getting the same message.
The only way that I am able to get some of these apps onto my iPhone has been to download directly onto my iPhone, but I can't do that with larger apps (200mb+), even with Wifi.
Any help guys?
