I am unable to delete or move emails (using gmail)
All of the sudden I am unable to delete emails or move them to folders-tried all the ways: delete button; mouse; message delete and message move to folder-nothing is working
I just noticed that if I delete or move them in Mail on my iPhone, then and only then does it update properly (ie registers the changes) on Mail in my MacBook Pro.
Is it a setting thing I've not done properly (ie my MacBook has no authority to change anything on the Cloud or something)?

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I can't delete/move emails using Mail app
I upgraded to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard and having problems with my Mail application.
The long and short of it is that I cannot delete or move emails from my Inbox. When I select an email in the preview panel and delete it, it disappears, but when I select the Trash folder, it isn't in there. And when I go back to my Inbox, lo and behold, it is back there again, as if I had never deleted it. The same holds true when I try to move an email from my Inbox to one of my iCloud folders.
Emails come in to my Inbox just fine.
And I am able to move emails from one iCloud folder to another, however.
And I do not have this problem when I access my email via Iphone, ipad or icloud.com. In fact, when I delete an email from my iphone, it gets deleted from my Inbox on my Mail app.
I looked in Mail Preferences, and I have one Account set up: iCloud IMAP. Is that right? I use me.com for my email.
Any ideas here?This means that at some time you had the iWork ’09 trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

i'm unable to delete an existing email account, using iPhone 4 and latest OS. Anyone resolve this problem?
I thought maybe you had a restriction set to Accounts but if you can get to the final screen that's not it. I'd try resetting the phone. First do a hard reset. Turn the phone off then press the Home button an Power button at the same time and hold for 10 seconds or so until the logo appears. If that doesn't work go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. That will basically restore the phone to a like new condition but keep your data, music, photos, etc. intact. Do a back up first though.

This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:

Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).

After upgrading on both computers at work and at home, iPhoto will no longer email using Gmail (or for that matter any email program I can find). I've tried the fixes of deleting all accounts in iPhoto and re-entering. Still doesn't work. Any other ideas?

I'm reposting my response to a similar question here.
Try this, assuming you're using iPhoto 11 and Mountain Lion:
Within the iPhoto application, click on iPhoto in the menu bar
Click on Preferences
Within Preferences, click on Accounts
Your Gmail account should be present. Click on Gmail under Accounts.
Put in the proper information. Your full gmail address is your username (put this under Email address). Outgoing Mail Server is smtp.gmail.com Port is 465 Password is your password. Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) should be checked.
Upon making these changes, click on the red "close" button in the top left corner of the pop-up window. Choose to Save Changes.
Close iPhoto.
Reopen iPhoto. You should now be able to share photos.
I hope this helps. One suggestion for you, by the way. It's always best to include the application version and the operating system version you're using when asking for help. The above solution will not apply, at least exactly, to anything other than iPhoto 11 and Mountain Lion.

Often, though not always, when I open THUNDERBIRD I'm not able to delete or move messages. I need to close the program and reopen. Similarly, when sending emails, sometimes things works smoothly and sometimes they hang up on saving to the SENT box. Apparently they DO get sent but I can't keep a copy. If I close and reopen, then it works as it should.
I'm running Windows 8.1, AVAST internet security, and Thunderbird 24.3.Jim, Hopefully one of the Thunderbird experts will be along soon (I don't use Thunderbird) but before uninstalling Avast you may want to check the [http://forum.avast.com Avast forums] to see if other Windows 8 users are reporting Thunderbird issues. Failure to send email using gmail server
I am using gmail account and I use thunderbird to download all the emails and to compose my emails. Now I'm trying to write a java application that will send out emails. Since I'm still in school I am using gmail account for the class project.
One t hing I noticed is that in my thunderbird I use secure connection using TLS. How should I incorporate that here in the java code. Is that why I'm getting the exception. Anyone knows any other smtp server using which I could submit my assignment.

Have no problems replying emails in the past.
2 days ago, notice that I cant reply email when using gmail via firefox.
It show "loading" and does not take me to the reply screen.
Does not have this problem when using IE.Try this:

So I have gmail setup on iPhone. 1.1.3 iPhone. In my account setup on Gmail using the computer to setup, I've added my personal email address (a pop account) as the reply to address for gmail. And set Gmail to get my personal email address email. All that works fine on the computer.
On the iPhone, which only has the gmail account on it, when I send email from the iPhone is there anyway to have this email I send to people to ALSO have my personal email address as the reply address?
As it is now the email sent from iPhone is replied to my gmail email. I want the reply email to be my personal.
When I send email via gmail on the computer, this works correctly. But not the iPhone

Can anyone help? Some time since I cancelled my initial apple Id and then set up a new one using my new email address. I still possess an iPad and iPhone which have the original email address registered on them. As this account is deleted I am now unable to access any app updates or make any purchases from these products. Can anyone please advise me how to delete the stored original email address from these two products so I can enter my new email address and new password so that and access the facility.
Another thought is would it be possible to use my daughters email address and a new password on these products but I'm wondering if that then means that she would have to repurchase apps or if there is any way we could both access these whilst retaining some privacy over individual phone/ipad content?http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621

We have several Konica-Minolta MFPs on our network. Users regularly use the e-mail function to receive PDF scans. These e-mails cannot be deleted in Outlook, OWA, or EAS.
I have tested this on multiple users, including myself. The e-mails and attachments can be any size, starting at 50kb. Other e-mails with PDF attachments behave normally--just not these.
In Outlook 2010 I receive "The item cannot be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was denied." I have verified with a MAPI viewer that these e-mails are sitting in the user's Inbox.
OWA gives the same error message as Outlook 2010.
In Outlook 2013 I receive a similar error, and an Event Log notice:

These e-mails cannot be deleted. They cannot be moved to another folder.
They can be Shift+Deleted. They can be deleted via the MAPI viewer. They can be opened, edited (Move > Actions > Edit Message) and if even one character is added to the body, after being saved they can be deleted as normal.
I have read many posts on TechNet and elsewhere:
A repair on the mailboxes does nothing. There are no PSTs. This happens to even an empty mailbox, so size is not an issue. There are no host headers set in the bindings. The IIS SSL Settings are ignoring Client Certificates. I have tested in Outlook
Safe Mode and without plugins. It is not Antivirus.
I have not reset the Virtual Directory, nor have I tested with a new Database.
I did find a solution: in all of the Konica-Minolta configurations, there was nothing set for a message body. I think (but I am not sure) these e-mails were being sent without a body.
After I added text for the body, the emails behaved normally.
Is this an Exchange bug? Is there something I can do to narrow the issue down, or adjust an Exchange setting so it doesn't happen again?

As I stated, I have examined the messages with a MAPI viewer. I did not notice any attributes that seemed out of order, except for the fact that the problem e-mails seem to lack a body:

I've compared the three e-mails. The "Konica: CAN Delete" is one from after I changed the Konica settings to include a message body (which was "Scan from Konica-BW").
My next planned steps are to speak to Konica, roll back RU6 and test, or just wait to see if MS releases a patch for the RU6 issue and see if it resolves my issue as well.
If you have any further suggestions of things to look for, I am all ears. :)

Can't Delete or Move Email on iPad
I have a POP mail account on a iPad and when I try to delete any email from either the inbox or the trash it gives the error " Cannot Move Message". What's up?
Have you tried restarting the ipad: Press and hold the home and sleep buttons until the ipad restarts.
If that doesn't fix it, you can delete the email account, restart the ipad then recreate the email account.
If it STILL doesn't work, try a restore from iTunes on your computer.
