I have been able in the past to download audio books purchased from Audible and today I purchase 3 books and was unable to download using Firefox and had to use Safari.
Why have Firefox stopped me

I downloaded Blue Fire Reader and it requested an adobe id. I clicked on the link that was in the error message stated http//adeactivateadobe.com. Found out that if the date and time on my Ipad is wrong that it won't let me download a book. I was off 5 hours. I reset my clock settings and adobe id let me download a book from the library. I am back to using Overdrive and adobe again on my ipad.

Then restore from you Mac laptop's backup, if you have not been backing up then you may be in for a very painful lesson on why backing up is the VERY FIRST thing you should do with any new Mac. Create a backup plan and use it on a regular basis. If the laptop was using 10.5.x or later then you have absolutely no excuse for not backing up. Sorry for being terse and blunt but Time Machine has been built into 10.5.x, 10.6.x and 10.7.x so we have had years to have a seamless and mindless method of backing up. If you have been using an earlier verision of OS X there are quite a number of methods of backing up.
If you aren't successful then take the laptop and iMac to your local Apple Store or AASP and they may be able to help you recover your contacts.

If you've downloaded it on your iPad then it should be in the Music app (and similarly for audiobooks that you sync from your computer's iTunes) - when you have audiobooks on an iPad you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
Note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store (so they won't appear in the Purchased tab for re-downloading), so you may want to copy it from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of it - it should copy over to the Books part of your iTunes library.

Sync the audiobook to your iPod using iTunes. Find the audiobook on iTunes, make sure it is checked, and when you sync your iPod, the audiobook will be synced to your iPod.

You might try just waiting. There are millions of people activating their iPhones today and people still trying to get iOS8, so the servers are swamped. I'd give it a couple of days and if it still doesn't work then try some troubleshooting.

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

According to https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/audiobooks-from-audible/id379693831?mt=8 it only requires iOS 5 or later and it is "optimized" for iPhone 5. I think it will likely work well on your iPhone 4.

I have been using iMessage fine ever since it came out, I have had no problems at all. I've been in Europe for a week now and all of the sudden yesterday morning, iMessage has stopped receiving messages and when I attemp to send one, it says "sending" and the bar travels about 90% and then freezes, then the red icon saying not delivered comes up, and I'm unsure how to fix it. I've made sure everything is up to date, I've even changed my country in my account, the person trying to message me from canada says when they send me a message, it showed delivered. Update: This is a known issue in Firefox 4 beta 12. The latest nightly builds availible here fix this problem: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/ I was using beta 11 at the time of my reply.
