I am unable to import cd's - still!

This is the third question I have posted and nobody has even replied as yet! I cannot download cd's through itunes. It says evey song is 789 minutes long, it brings up the song titles but doesn't recognise the songs and won't play them. Strangely enough though it both plays and recognises downloaded songs from itunes and amazon! I have only had this problem since I had to have my pc reformatted andI upgraded to the newest version of itunes. I have also installed a new dvd player.

Is your computer able to rip CDs in another program, such as Windows Media Player? That will help determine if the problem is in iTunes or in your CD drive. And if the ripping in WMP works, you might as well just add the resulting MP3s to your iTunes library.

The way I see it (correct me if I'm wrong) but Raw is supposed to be where you have total editing control of the shot (as opposed to the camera). I believe the next step is to do the editing (i.e. color balance, exposure, etc) then make a regular image from that to use in whatever output you desire (print, web, etc.) Think of raw as the negative. Just being in raw doesn't in it self make it better.

You can either upgrade to Lightroom 5.4 or later, or use the free Adobe DNG Converter version 8.6 to convert your RAW photos to DNG, which then will import into Lightroom 4.

Unable to Import objects into ID

Hi All,
For your support I have completed the development work and I have moved to Quality from Development. But while trying to import the one scenario in to Quality System from Development in XI, I am getting the following Error:-
Internal error: Unable to transfer changes for object Service | Q14CLNT120 to change list "XI 3.0 Import" (9a590f30-7245-11dc-9266-00306ee97ef1) since object still in change list "XI 3.0 Import" (3ae5e660-701d-11dc-942e-00306ee97ef1)
I have somehow managed to import another scenario last week into Quality, although now I am unable to import. But while trying to activate the imported scenario into Quality System I am getting another Error as below:-
Unable to move object. Change lists were not part of the same import
I tried to activate the change list..but no woek.
Could anyone please advice?

Have you checked the GUID in SLD in both the systems?
SLD-->Software Components, to check the GUID.
You can do one thing, first of delete imported objects which are not getting activated from QA, also delete the SWCV from Integration Repository.
Note: Before deleting SWCV, make sure any other working objects are not there in the same SWCV.
Now, if SWCV & GUID in both systems are same then again:
1. Export the objects from Dev (.tpz file)
2. Imort the same .tpz file to QA system.
Now go to Repository of QA and
1. Tools --> Import Design Objects
2. Tools --> Transfer from system landscape Directory --> Update Application Components.
Select your components and press Finish button.
And finally try to Acitvate your objects.

Upgrading iPhone 3GS to iOS4 unable to import photos to iPhoto

After upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS4, I am unable to import photos to iPhoto. Also, iPhone does not turn up in iPhoto. Unable to find other ways to import photos from iPhone. No problems importing before upgrade. Anyone with a god solution?

I too had troubles with iPhoto and the iPhone Photo app. They are solved for now. Problem description and action take are as follows.
Problem 1 - Got a new iPhone 4 and upgrade my wife's iPhone 3GS to iOS 4. For both phones, when I connected them to iTunes to sync and selected on the Photo tab to sync my entire iPhoto library, nothing synced to the iPhones.
Solution 1 - I opened iPhoto to ensure my photo collection was indeed there. I closed iPhoto and tried to sync the phones again. This time, the sync took place, taking a long time since the thumbnail photo collection had to be created.
Problem 2 - I knew the photos were on the phones since the sync was complete. On the new iPhone 4, I could see the photos when I selected events or faces or places. The albums tab was blank. On the 3GS, it still looked like there were no photos.
Solution 2 - I shut down the iPhones holding both home key and the power button. I waited a minutes and restarted. Upon restart, both Photo apps displayed my photo collections properly - at least for now.

iPhoto suddenly quit while importing photos from camera unable to import photos from camera that were imported before iPhoto quit. Photos are still on the camera however iPhoto only "sees" the photos that were not imported on this computer. I can connect to my other mac and see all the photos. I am using a MacBook Pro OS 10.9.2, iPhoto 9.5.1 connected via usb to a Canon G12. I have had this issue before when importing photos. I can work around by using my other Mac and download the photos. I believe that there maybe a setting on the Mac that prevents duplicating photo downloads that may be preventing me from seeing these photos stored in the camera memory although I can view them on the camera.

Flash CS5.5 unable to import sounds and massive animation lag

So, having reached a point where I want to add sound to my animation (which is extremely laggy for no particular reason), I find myself completely unable to import sounds of any form into Flash. "Oh, crap" I say to myself, and come onto the forums looking for a solution. Apparently importing the sound into a sound editor (ie audition) and then resaving it works, except it hasn't in my case and I'm still stuck with this stupid "Couldn't import [filename]" error.
(and my animation is extremely laggy for some reason in case you hadn't realised from the hints above. Does this have something to do with the fact that I am using blurs in the animation and then animating them with tweens, or is flash cs5.5 (and 5) just not good at rendering blurs efficiently?)

In Flash, all of the animation is done at runtime, not during authoring. This means that a blur, for instance, is done when the user is looking at the movie. This is completely different from the way that video is played on a computer. All of the animation workload is on the user's processor.
If you have a normal bitmap image that you are blurring with a blur filter and then animating that bitmap on the timeline in a tween, then you are giving the processor a lot of work to do. If you import a blurred bitmap and animate that, the processor has much less work to do.
That may or may not describe the problem that you are seeing.
I have no idea what the problem is with the sound files. Can you post one of the sound files so that someone could take a look at it?

I am unable to import raw images into elements 11 camera raw from my panasonic lumix 200

I am unable to import raw files to E11 from my Panasonic Lumix 200. I get a response that says "nothing imported - no supportive file types" also "can't complete request as file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by installed version of Camera raw". I think I understand that I need at least a 7.2 version and don't know what I have. The camera is a fairly recent model.

I'm new to all of this and didn't know to look further down the menu. I started browsing under help and found how to register the product which I hadn't done and have been thinking that was the root of the problem. Turns out with your suggestion to get me started I was right - I hope, haven't tested it yet. I had 6.4 It is still running.

Unable to import videos into iTunes library

For the past few week I have been unable to import videos from my computer into the iTunes library using either the drag and drop or import file methods. I am using the latest version of iTunes and a second generation iPod touch.
I have tried using file formats: wmv, av1, mpeg & mp.4 but all refuse to load into the library. To test I have changed a file name of a video that was successfully loaded into the library a while ago and this file also refuses to load. I have also used 'Smart FLV Converter' to convert the files to 'MP4 for iPod' and this converted file also cannot be imported. All of the files play OK from the desktop.
Any suggestions as to how to overcomne this problem would be appreciated

I don't know if this helps but my iTunes was crashing everytime I tried to add a file located in the "My videos" folder. I moved the files to "My Music" Folder and had no problems. Seems like a simple/stupid solution but it worked for me. I still don't know why it wasn't allowing me to do it in the first place.

Running Captivate 8 on a Macbook and I am unable to import Powerpoint 2011 (which is up to date) files or slides. I get an error saying that either the file is damaged or I am using an older version of PP....which is not the case.

OK...found out it did not like me saving as a *.pptx. When I save it as a *.ppt file it imported in correctly. Is this what I will need to do moving forward? I am not sure if I am losing any functionality in the process...

Unable to Import to IPhoto-Import to Library not showing up

I am unable to Import my photo's to IPhoto. I've done it before but now when I am in Adobe Photo Shop CS5 or trying to Import directly from the Finder (Preview) the Import to Library no longer is showing up. I've shut down Adobe CS5, Lightroom and can't figure out why I still can't access it..Any help would be appreciated!

Are you sure you've set up Home Sharing and not vanilla Sharing which is different?

Unable to import jpegs into Library

HI all,
I hoping somenone has come across a similar issue and resolved it. When trying to import my jpegs from both my iphone and my digital camera the import runs but at the end when prompted to keep originals or remove a message box prompts with the folllowing:
Unreadable Files: 26
The following files could not be imported.(the Import failed)
Has anyone had this and resolved it. Its disastrous for me at the moment as i cannot back up all my photos of my new born girl.

Thank you for your response, but unfortunately this did not help as i get the same issue as before - "The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognised file type or the files may not contain valid data)"
I now have another problem, where when i now open iPhoto it comes up with this message box:
25 photos were found in the iPhoto library that were not imported. Would you like to import them Yes or No.
if i click yes it tries to import them, shows the above error message again (files could not be imported etc) then creates an album titled recovered photo's with no pictures in it.It also actually downloads the photos to a file on the HD titled " iPhoto Library Recovered Photos"
If i click NO a message box appears stating " these photo's have been placed in folder xx/xx/xx etc titled " iPhoto Library Recovered Photos", so i now have 2 folders with the same pictures, but still unable to import. Plus i cannot stop iPhoto doing the above. every time i open it i get the above message and it creates a new recovered folder.
I am now worse off than when i started.

Unable to Import Artwork into iTunes 9

Greetings from Cape Town. I am unable to use Coverflow, because I am unable to import Artwork. i Tunes gives error message when I try to get Artwork. Please help

Since neither iTunes nor Windows Media Player can import a CD, that would, as I said, suggest that it's a problem with the CD driver or the drive itself. The latter is less likely since your husband says that the drive can play a CD, just not import, but it's not impossible. I'd suggest you start by checking Dell's support site and see if they have any information on the problem or have any drivers for the CD drive that are more current and if so try those. One other thing you could try is to create a new user account in Windows, log in with that account, and try importing a CD. If it still fails. then it would definitely suggest a system-wide problem, either with hardware drivers or with Windows.
The last thing I can think of to suggest is to look for any sort of other audio burning software such as Nero. If there is any such, you can try uninstalling it and see if that makes any difference.
If none of that helps, you may want to talk to Dell technical support and see if they have any additional suggestions.

ITunes 7.4.2.5 post install issue unable to import cd's

Once I upgraded to the new version of iTunes I am unable to import cd's. When starting iTunes I get the following error: iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CD's you need to reinstall iTunes. I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled, re-downloaded, repeated the process several times. Still get the same error. Was working fine with previous version. Anyone else seen this? Know of a fix?

I am also having problems with this error message. It seems to be related to the 64 bit processors. I have not yet found any fix for this with 7.4.2 itunes.

Same "unable to import file" question, but solution did not work for me....

I receive an error message as well and decreasing the size of the photo does not help.
I scanned in images using the canoscan software. I can open the image in preview. The original file is about 4BM. I've save as a smaller 1MB file in Photoshop elements.
I am still unable to import the image into iPhoto.
Any thoughts? Again, the picture looks fine in Preview.

FYI:
If you like editing in Photoshop Elements and would like iPhoto to link your edited version to the original, you can set PE as your external editor in iPhoto's Preferences. Then when you double-click in iPhoto, your pix will open in PE. If you do a straight Save, the edit will appear as the thumbnail in iPhoto. If you do a Save As or rename the file (including changing the file extension) you still have to Save As to the desktop and Import to iPhoto as a new Original. To edit in iPhoto with PE set as your External Editor, simply click on the Full-Screen Edit icon near the Key words icon at the bottom of the iPhoto window.
