I am unable to import Raw files taken with my new camera Canon SX60HS.
I am running Elements 12, I have just downloaded and installed Adobe Camera Raw v 8.7.1 as it indicates that it supports raw files taken with this camera model. I continue to get the error that nothing imported as it did not contain supported file types. Do I have to do something further to connect this ACR program to Elements in order to have it work or am I missing something else.
The SX-60 HS requires ACR 8.7, and PSE12 is only compatible up to ACR 8.5, so you’ll either need to upgrade Elements or use the DNG Converter 8.7 or newer to convert a folder of raw files to DNG files, and then those DNG files will open in your older ACR.
You can get the DNG Converter from here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

Hi, I godt 2 Questions: 1) My Adobe PhotoShop Elements 10.0 for MAC cannot read the RAW files taken with the new Canon 7D Mark II camera. 2) My Photoshop Elements has changed from the danish language to german language, how do I put this back ?
You're in the wrong forum. This is not the Elements forum.

When importing RAW files in Photoshop why does camera raw 8.6 only import 1 size?
When importing RAW files in Photoshop why does camera raw 8.6 only import 1 size from canon 5d mark iii, in older versions I used to be able to import the files as larger images. It use to have a number of options for the images size. The option now is smaller than the maximum size used to be.
You know what - I'm sorry
I'd had a crazy long all-nighter session sorting out images for a client, then decided - when I should have simply gone to bed - to set up the new photoshop. At the very start I made a silly mistake, tried to sort it out then decided to call it a day, responding to your remarks with the problem still in my head but feeling more and more tired.
Responded again to your comment earlier with the problem still in my head but not in front of me on the screen - however with a fresh head I just turned it all on, opened up PS and today could instantly see what was going on - Oops!
Thank you for being patient with a sleep deprived photographer who must have been getting annoying yesterday
I am officially embarrassed

Why can't I open RAW files taken with my Nikon D3200 in Elements 10?
Is there a fix in the works that will allow me to open RAW files taken with my Nikon D3200?
Actually the 7.1 camera raw update covers the D3200, but for whatever reason adobe has denied users of pse 10 that update.
Maybe it will still be released, but to me something else seems to be up, because in the past the latest version of elements (at least on windows) was always updated
to the latest version of camera raw at the same time photoshop was.
In the meantime you could download the 7.1 DNG converter to convert your files to dng copies which will then open in pse 10.
windows:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5389
mac:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5388
I know this stinks, but other than using the camera makers or aftermarket raw programs (lightroom), that's the best i can suggest for now. -

Accessing raw file taken with Canon Powershot G16 using Elements 11
I own adobe photoshop elements 11, which I have used successfully for the past 18 months or so with my Canon Powershot G15 camera. I recently upgraded to the Canon Powershot G16 but was disappointed to find that elements 11 does not recognise the raw files taken with the G16. I have tried various intenet forum fixes to no avail. I would rather not go to the expense of purchasing Photoshop Elements 12 to remedy this shortcoming, particularly as Elements 11 more than meets my current photoediting needs. I would be grateful for information on any patches etc that might allow me to access raw files taken with the G16 without have to resort to purchasing Elements 12.
after much consternation I have discovered that the problem is APERTURE. Despite claiming that the program is compatible with the G16 RAW files it really is NOT. I had to download Canon's own photoediting and viewing software....and guess what no problem at all editing, viewing any of the files.
I tried them in Lightroom too and guess what...no problem at all!
So although Aperture has been like an old friend it is time to say bye bye and make the big trek over the Lightroom!
Sad but relieved. -
Hi, I've just purchased and installed an upgrade from Lightroom 4 to 5. It doesn't seem to handle raw files authored with a new Nikon D750 camera. I spoke to the sales rep about this and he gave me a link to the 8.6 DNG converter page with instructions to download. 8.6 only works with Mac OS 10.7-10.9, according to the page. I'm running Yosemite, Mac 10.10. Please can you tell me my options? Lightroom 4 worked beautifully with my older cameras' raw files so I would like to continue using the application. What should I do? How soon will Lightroom 5 be able to deal with raw files from a D750. Many thanks, Adam.
Until the next version of Lightroom is released, you need to use the DNG Converter version 8.7RC to convert your RAW photos to DNG and then import the DNGs into Lightroom.

Hello,
I got a new camera and Photoshop and Lightroom won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version. and Lightroom 3Good news and bad news:
The bad news is that you need CS6 or higher to open 6D RAWs. (The 6D didn't get support until Camera Raw 7.3; 7.0 premiered in CS6.) You can choose to upgrade (I'd recommend skipping CS6 and go straight for CC 2014 for $10/month) *OR*...
...the good news is that the DNG Converter can help you convert your RAWs into DNGs for use in CS5 and Lightroom 3. -
Unable to import RAW files from my 400D, (XTi) Even if its a supported cam
Hi,
I have been unable to upload RAW files from my Canon XTi, a.k.a. 400D. I know this camera is supported and I am running Mac OS X 10.4.8 on an Intel Core Duo Mac Book.
iPhoto had no issues with my previous Canon 350D raw files, yet its not working with the 400D. Is very likely a matter of installing an update, yet when i tried to install the ppl version it stated that this was not to be installed on this system. Would there be an update specific for Intel based machines to support the 400d?
Has anyone experienced this same issue that would like to share in their resolution? This would definetively be appreciated.
Happy Holidays and may you get the PS3 or something cool like that.Dendrite
You need the Universal version of that update the ppc version won't work on your intel based machine:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/digitalcamerarawsupportupdate101universal .html
"This update improves RAW file format compatibility for the following digital SLR cameras:
-Canon Digital Rebel XTi / 400D / Kiss X Digital
-Nikon D80

I cannot open raw files taken with my Canon Mark III in CS5
I am running CS5 on a newer computer (2012)... Every time I try to edit raw images taken with my Canon Mark III, a text box appears alerting me that my camera model is not supported by camera raw. I have tried various updates and software installations, but I have been unsuccessful in remedying the problem. Can anyone help or tell me what update/ software to download? I apologize if this thread already exists.
Canon Mark III do you mean Canon 1D Mark III or Canon 1DS Mark III or Canon 5D Mark III ???
In any case CS 5 ACR update 6.7 should handle all those cameras.

Unable to import raw files from a99 in to photoshop elements 10
All worked fine with a77. Have downloaded new adobe raw 7.2 Can import for sdhc card to LR and then edit in PSE10 but unable to download from card into PSE10
Hi,
The SLT-A99V is supported by LR from version 4.2.
You do need ACR 7.2 or later for that camera, however PSE 10 only supports up to ACR 6.7 and not ACR 7.2.
Since you have LR, the best approach would be to use LR to convert the RAW to a TIF and import that into PSE 10.
Alternatively, you could download the latest DNG converter and use that to convert the RAW files to DNG files and then import the DNGs.
Out of interest, if you use LR, why do you want to import them into PSE? I use LR as my organizer and only use the PSE editor as an external editor when I want to do more complex editting - I don't need the PSE organizer.

Version 3.4.1 : unable to import RAW files
I've installed the new version 3.4.1. (on a Windows 7 system, 64 bits)
Now, it's unable for me to import new RAW files. I've found the same issue with RAW files from a D300 NIKON and from a G10 CANON.
Thank you for your answer.Solved after a rename of the files. Apparently, LR was considering that these files were already in the catalog (but it was not the case !).
I don't understand, but for me, I consider that this issue is solved.
Best regards,
André. -
Unable to import Raw files from 5D Mk3 into LR3 [was:.CR2 files]
I am having trouble importing .CR2 files into lightroom 3. Any Suggestions
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
The 5D Mk3 was first supported in Lightroom 4.1. Lightroom 3 will not be upgraded to read files from the 5D Mk3.
You can either upgrade to Lightroom 5 or use the free Adobe DNG converter to convert the Raw .CR2 files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Lightroom 3.

I have a new Canon G10 camera and have been experimenting. Today I took some RAW format photos. I am currently using OS 10.4.11
iPhoto 6 will not import these files; a window of 'Unreadable Files' is headed by "The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)."
Each file is in the following format '/private/var/tmp/folders.501/TemporaryItems/iPhoto/IMG_0638.CR2'.
Can these be imported? If not can they be downloaded to one of my Macs for later use when I get something like Elements?Image Capture is in your Applications Folder.
A Card Reader is a very good buy:
it’s safer: Less risk of your images being lost if your camera shuts down during transfer.
It saves the battery on your camera
It saves wear and tear on your camera ports
It’s almost always faster.

When I try to import, I get a "Preview Not Available for this File" message.
I thought LR 5.7 would contain a Camera RAW converter. If not, when?
Please help me....Support was provided in record time with the LR 5.7.1 update.
Profiles for new camera models can only commence being created after the camera has been released to the market.
