I am unable to install Lightning calendar to Thunderbird 31.1.2/Windows 7 64bit

I am unable to install Lightning calendar to Thunderbird 32.0.3/Windows 7 64bit.
My original calendar dissapeared a while ago during an update.
I have tried downloading lightning-3.3.sm+tb-windows.xpi, but every time I try to run it, all it does is add the file as an attachment to a new email.
Can you help please?

Yes, frequently.
Once there, I click on Lightning, download for Windows and when the popup asks what should Thunderbird do with this file I highlight Open with Thunderbird. It then opens a new Write window with lightning-3.3.sm+tb-windows.xpi as an attachment.
I have also tried saving it as a file, but when I try to open it the same thing happens (new write window with file added as an attachment).

    Please help As i am running out of time as i have to upgrade TFS for that first step is to install SQL server.

    Hello,
    The following are a few things you can try:
    Copy the media to the local disk drive, unzip it (in case you are installing from an ISO file, and run SQL Server setup from there.
    Try to unregister and register the Windows Installer with the following two commands:
    msiexec /unregister
    msiexec /regserver
    Try to use Process Monitor to log the detailed error produced when the installation of dw20sharedamd64.msi fails. You can download Process Monitor from the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645
    Share with us the error captured by Process Monitor.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to install ADOBE Digital Edition 2.0.1 on Windows 7

    Hi
    My current installation of Windows 7 contains Framework NET 4.0 Full.
    It is up-tp-date with this.
    I'm unable to install ADOBE Digital Edition 2.0.1 on this system, because
    of the prerequisite required to install this packege.
    ADOBE Digital Edition 2.0.1. requires NET 3.5 on Windows 7 (and this is old/outdated today).
    When will ADOBE Digital Edition 2.0.1 install on Windows 7 with NET 4?
    Any other ideas to get this up and running?
    Thanx

    You can install the different versions of .NET at the same time, and that is what you need to do for quite a few programs.
    Microsoft don't make them upward compatible.
    You could install the older v1.7.2 instead, much more relaible and I don't think (not sure) it as .NET requirement.
    ~~~~~~~~~
    There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
    (You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
    Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
    The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
    Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
    It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
    Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
  • Unable to install OLITE 10.3.0.3.0 on Windows XP
    Hi Everyone,
    I am trying to install OLite DB 10.3.0.3 on Windows XP. After clicking setup.exe and launching the OUI, the OUI checks for some pre-reqs and throws the following error:
    "JDK is not installed on machine"
    I tried to set the following environment variables:
    JAVA15_HOME=D:\Installations\FMW11g\jdk160_21
    JAVA_HOME=D:\Installations\FMW11g\jdk160_21
    Path=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;D\Installations\FMW11g\jdk160_21\bin
    But still it stops with the same error.
    Then tried to comment out the dependencies in the products.xml as follows (trying to check if this is a bug for JDK version check):
    <!--DEP NAME="oracle.jdk" VER="10.1.0.3.0" PLAT="ALL_PLATFORMS" HOME_IDX="-1"/-->
    It didnt help.
    Can you please let me know whats the issue here ? Thanks in advance.
    Hi Winnie Hu,
    Thanks for the reply. Do we need to install JDK or is it fine if we have just the jre ? I tried with jre, but ended with same error:
    JAVA15_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jre6
    JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jre6
    JRE_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jre6
    Path=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6\bin
    and tried this too
    JAVA15_HOME=C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6 (8.3 file naming convention)
    JAVA_HOME=C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6
    JRE_HOME=C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6
    Path=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6\bin
    But it didnt help. Not sure why do we need to install it in the system folder only. It should work from anywhere logically :) but gave a try.
  • Unable to install itunes 10.5 after update issue. "windows installer package error"
    So when the update for itunes happened, it wiped my ipod, and then my ipod would not work with itunes. So I uninstalled itunes and tried to reinstall it and it gives me that error message. "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I have tried all the fixes from deleting everything to running command prompts. I think i tried everything.
    Method 1: Right click on the setup file and, from the drop down menu, select 'run as administrator'
    Method 2: Open command prompt in elevated mode and, then unregistered and re-register Windows Installer.
    1. In the Start search box and then type 'cmd', when the command application appears at the top of the start window, right click on it and, from the drop down menu, select 'run as administrator' and type each of these commands in the command prompt and press Enter
       • msiexec /unregister
       • msiexec /regserver
    2.       In Computer, open the "C:" drive.
    3.       Open the Users folder.
    4.       Double-click the folder titled with your username.
    Method 5: Removing iTunes
    Note: iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
    1.       Quit iTunes.
    2.       From the Start menu, click Control Panel.
    3.       In Control Panel, click Uninstall a program. The Programs and Features Control Panel opens.
    6.       After the uninstallation is complete, do not restart your computer if you are prompted to.
    7.       If other program entries were listed for iTunes in Programs and Features remove those as well.
    8.       In Programs and Features, also remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed in the same fashion as you removed iTunes.
    Method 6: You may also try downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and run that to remove the leftover ITunes installer files that may be causing issues with your current installation.
    You may refer the following article to download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility:
    I was able to install quick time just fine. All of the other apple software associated with itunes installed fine but itunes did not. Im not sure if there is a virus that could do this. I didnt delete anything but apple folders.
    I have tried other things but i cant remember exactly there were.
    When the install process for itunes is running it changes with the error message shows up during install.
    Thanks.
    I should have posted this earlier, but anyway. I restored my laptop to factory version after backing up any useful data, and the first thing I the laptop was restored was connect to the internet, download and install the latest version of iTunes. And Bingo! It worked.
  • Unable to install Power2Go & Trend Micro antivirus after upgrade to windows 7
    Hi. Recently I received my free windows 7 Upgrade Kit from Lenovo. (fulfillment)
    Installed it and inserted the driver dvd to install the drivers from the dvd automatically.
    Everything went fine but the power2go software wasn't installed.
    Downloaded this file from Lenovo's Software & driver website, and during installation it popped up a window saying This product can only be installed on a lenovo desktop. I would dearly like to use this software. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Also, I called tech support, and was advised to go to the same place where I downloaded the file, to file a feedback. However, after entering the 4 paragraph from above along with my contact details, and submit, it gave me a pop-up window saying submit error..
    btw, I am using Lenovo Ideacentre A600, and also no idea where to post this question as there isnt a dedicated place to post for A series Ideacentre.
    OK, I downloaded winRAR and did as suggested above, and it still did not work. This time it seems to recognize my PC as a Lenovo, but I get error 1719 (unable to find installer) at the end.
    I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with tech support, and I still don't have this issue resolved! although the man was very pleasant and had a lot of suggestions, which we tried unsuccessfully. I would love to know if anyone has solved these issues in any way other than re-purchasing the software, which I do not want to do, although it is the obvious solution.
  • Unable to Install iTunes 64 bit on Lenovo X1 with Windows 8.1
    I get the error message in the screenshot attached when I try to install iTunes on my Lenovo (W 8.1).  I havs done all the uninstalls (iTunes and all Apple and Bonjour programs and folders) and attempted reinstalls, and ever time I get this error message that Apple Mobile Device fails to start.  I have installed Windows Media Pro for Windows 8, as aome have suggested but this makes no difference.  I have also set permissions in system so Administrators hav full control, and I have even tried to install as Administrator.  Appreciate any advice appreciated.
    Also, if I ignore the first error message and proceed with the installation, I get this second error, that Apple Application Support cannot be found, and the iTunes boot up fails.  Again, any assistance appreciated.
  • Unable to install 64-bit Oracle ODBC Instant Client on Windows 2008 R2 machine.
    I am trying to upgrade the Oracle ODBC driver from the 32-bit version currently installed (ODBC Instant Client Release 10.1.0.5.0, April 2006) to a newer 64-bit version but have not been successful.  I have had success at uninstalling and reinstalling the existing 32-bit version package (release 10.1.0.5.0) however when I've tried to install the 64-bit ODBC Instant Client (Release 12.1, December 2012), I run the odbc_install.exe application inside the package.  it appears to run without issue/compliant, but then I do not see the 64-bit Oracle ODBC driver anywhere, either if I go via the traditional Administrator Tools --> ODBC Data Sources or if I go to the c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe route.  Further investigation into the ReadMe file (ODBC_IC_Readme_Win.html) reveals that you need the 3 DLLs oci.dll, oraociei11.dll and orannzsbb11.dll which the package does not come with. Where could I obtain the correct version of these DLLs or else where can I get an installation package which already contains them?
    Any help with this is greatly appreciated.  Thank you
  • Unable to download or update to itunes 10.6 on windows 7 64bit
    Hi, recently I restored my laptop to the original factory settings and tried to install itunes again. However, with the link given on the apple's website to download Itunes, I only managed to download the 9.2.1.5 version even though the website stated that it version 10.6. So I installed it unknowingly that it's the old version and now I can't connect my Ipod as it requires version of 10.5 or higher. I even tried updating from Itunes 9.2 itself (by going to help> check for updates) and it even prompt me that newer version of Itunes (10.6.3) is available. So I clicked "download Itunes" and it opens up Apple Software Update to check for updates. Weird thing is, when it checks for available updates, it prompts me that "Your software is up-to-date". How can I get the latest version of Itunes? Even when I go to http://www.apple.com/sg/itunes/ itself i keep downloading the old version which is 9.2. Help
    P.s i'm running on OS 5.1.1 on my ipod touch hence it requires a new version of itunes. Right now I'm running on itunes 9.2
    Even when I go to http://www.apple.com/sg/itunes/ itself i keep downloading the old version which is 9.2. Help
    I haven't seen one of these reported for a while. (There was a little burst of them on XP systems a few months ago, where they would keep trying to download a 10.6.1.x instead of a 10.6.3.25.)
    Although you're getting different symptoms than described in the user tip, a few of them responded to the treatments in the following user tip:
    "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package ..." error messages when installing iTunes for Windows
    (Not entirely sure why having an ASU problem would cause the wrong version of the installer file to appear when downloading an iTunesSetup.exe or iTunes64Setup.exe from the website ... although something exotic might be happening with the installer cache, which is part of the ASU machinery.)
