I am unable to install print software on my windows 8 computer

I had my hp m1212 nf installed on my laptop (lenova e531).  Over the weekend, i had to restore my Windows 8 operating system.  The printer disappeared after the restore, so i need to reinstall it.  I went to hp website and downloaded software and driver (2014-09-17 , Version5.0, 212.67M).  On trying to install, my computer freezes up, goes into continuous installing files loop, etc... and the printer never shows up.  I also tried using the tool to diagnose and fix problems (file is hppiw i think) and that tells me that my printer is not supported.
Any suggestions before i throw the printer out the window?
Thanks,
Mark

Good day!
Personally, I have one experience from my colleague notebook.
We are resolving this issue by removing all temp files.
Try this steps: Clean up your disk with Disk Clean up, http://www8.hp.com/h20621/video-gallery/us/en/customer-care/1878273257001/running-the-disk-cleanup-u...
Not sure if this helps...
Good luck!

  • Unable to install printer Deskjet 6122 on windows 7 (64bit)

I bought a new HP Pavilion Model HPE h8-1237c running Windows 7 Professional (64bit). I’m not having any luck at trying to install my old HP Deskjet 6122 printer. Drivers on disk and newer downloaded ones are not compatible with the 64 bit OS. HP suggests installing drivers for Deskjet 990c as alternative. That didn't work either. This new computer only has USB ports and not the old parallel one like my old Pentium 4 Windows XP computer. The printer does have a USB hookup, but windows doesn't install the printer as plug and play since there are no drivers available. I've tried installing it running Windows Virtual PC in XP Mode. The printer install software runs fine in the virtual mode until it gets to the "print test page." At that point the install fails to find any printer at which time it completely reverses the install.  Pffft ! !
Help please!      I've been going crazy for two days to solve this problem. I haven't even begun to attempt installing my trusty old HP Scanjet 5530 flatbed scanner. I suspect it will be a similar nightmare as is this current printer dilemma.
Am I destine to have to buy new hardware that’s compatible with windows 7 (64bit)?
    This question was solved.

The Deskjet 6122 driver should work fine on Windows 7 using the DEskjet 990c driver, but many folks (myself included) have been having problems getting the Deskjet 990 driver to download from Windows Update.
You have probably already done the steps here, but if not start with that. If the HP Deskjet 990 does not show up after clicking on Windows Update as shown in step 8 and you get a message that "Windows Update was unable to find a list of devices, try again later" then see the solution here.  If the problem still exists then you can download the driver from the Microsoft Update Catalog site, but this is not very easy to use.  If you need to use the catalog site post back here and I will write up some directions.

  • I have iWork 09 with a family license. I am unable to install the software on my new Macbook Pro (the message is simply "Installation failed"). I wonder if I need to remove an old computer from the family license, and if so, how?

I have iWork 09 with a family license. I am unable to install the software on my new Macbook Pro (the message is simply "Installation failed"). I wonder if I need to remove an old computer from the family license, and if so, how?

Yes, gladly. I am trying to install on a 13" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3. I insert the disk into the SuperDrive. The I work '09 window pops up with two icons: one Tim install and one that says "Read before you install iWork." I double-click on the "Install iWork '09" icon, and a window appears that says, "This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed." I click "continue" and see "Welcome to the iWork '09 installer." I click on "Continue." The "read me" bullet on the left lights up, and I see "Read before you install. . . ." I click "Continue," then see the software license agreement. When I click on "Continue" again, I am asked to agree, and I do. The window then says, "Standard Install on 'Mackintosh HD" and indicates how much space the program will take.
I click "Install," enter my password, and the installation begins. It goes through a validating phase and begins "writing files." It indicates that installation will take about 30 minutes (although that number fluctuates). After about four minutes it goes to "cleaning up." Then after just a few seconds, the "Summary" bullet on the left lights up and this message appears: "There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing again." There is a large yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, and a bold "The installation failed." Below that appears "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
At that point, a "Close" button is pulsating blue at the bottom of the window.
Sorry for the tedious detail. Anything revealing there?
    Thanks!

  • Unable to install a software driver for Canon film scanner on mac OSX 10.6

I am unable to install a software driver for a Canon film scanner FS4000US. I have downloaded it from Canon then open the package click the install and it asks for a location namely the Applications folder. Then it says it has been installed re -start etc, but still no driver.
I am using Mac OS 10.6. Any suggestions greatly received. I have repaired/disk and permissions and it still does not work.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list. Post the messages from the last installation attempt, starting from the time when you launched the Installer or Software Update.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

  • Can anyone help me?  I recently bought a secondhand PowerBook G4 but there was no installation discs, where can I obtain a set as I am unable to install any software.  Many thanks.

I recently bought a secondhand PowerBook G4 but there were no installation discs with it and at present I am unable to install any software, where is it possible to obtain a set of the discs so that I can reinstall the software to try and resolve this problem.
    Many thanks.

You may also want to try eBay. Finding disks for a machine that old will be difficult though.
    Best of luck.

  • Problem installing printer software

    i downloaded:
HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver
This full software solution is the same solution as the in-box CD that came with your printer. NOTE: Due to the size of this download, HP recommends dial-up customers order this software on CD. Online ... More details
    Released: 2014-09-17  |  Size: 212.67M
    Version5.0
then ran "the install printer software"
clicked "connected to usb" and it said trying to connect, then said it had found it
now the software says its "installing HP Laserjet Pro M1212/1213/1214/1216 MFP Series" and is stuck in a loop. the progress bar grows, completes then starts again but the installation is not progressing.
Any ideas anyone? Its driving me crazy (I've tried stopping and restarting a number of times.

    Hi @toppairtel ,
I see that you are experiencing issues installing the printer software. I would be happy to help you.
Disconnect the USB cable and uninstall the software using the CD.
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
I would disable all the Startup programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software to see if there is a program interfering in the back ground. How to use MSCONFIG . Click on the start up tab and click disable all.
Then run the installation again, immediately after connecting the USB cable, follow the steps in this document to update the drivers so it doesn't error out again. A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. Then the installation should continue.
    Test the printer.
Then enable all the Startup items and turn off any Antivirus Software.
Let me know how you make out.
    Thank You.

  • 0x0000007a, Unable to install Printer

We have an HP DesignJet 500 on our network that is shared via a Windows 2003 Server for our CAD users. When the users connect via our VPN to our RDP server (Windows 2008 Standard R2), the users do not see the printer on our network and cannot map the printer.  I
have made multiple attempts to first map the HP DesignJet on the RDP server ( I have local admin rights), each time resulting in the error message "Windows cannot connect to the printer."  There is nothing in the windows logs with further information.
I installed the DesignJet on another Windows 2008 Standard R2 server successfully and tried to map to it from the RDP server and I get the same error.  I have downloaded the newest drivers from HP for Server 2008.
I have also attempted to install the HP DesignJet on the RDP server, first using the IP address of the printer, then using slash slash ServerName slash PrinterName, slash slash serverIP slash PrinterName,.  (links were not permitted in this box)
All have ended with the same error:  "Unable to install printer.  Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000007a)."  How can I get this printer installed so it can be used via the RDP server?
    Thank you for your assistance.

    This is the error
    C:\>winerror 0x0000007a
       122 ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER
       122 ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER
Not a clue what's happening on the RDP server.  Failure adding as a local printer as you did on the other 2008R2 machine seems extremely odd.
Since locally and connection fails, I suggest taking a look at the spooler file structure for recursive directories
    C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3
    C:\windows\system32\spool\prtprocs\x64

  • Is it necessary to install printer software on every computer in a wired network?

I have a HP Officejet 6000 Wireless Printer E609n.  I am attempting to connect it to an all wired home network.  There are three computers, two of them running Windows 7 and the other Windows XP.  I have installed the software on the main computer that is running Windows 7, and the printer works fine.  However, the printer does not appear on either of the other two computers.  I have confirmed that all three computers can communicate with each other. The three computers are hard wired into a Medialink router.  Do I need to install the software on each of the other two computers? I tried it on the Windows XP computer and it did not work properly, even after I reinstalled it. (It kept trying to install HP Solution Center, even though it was already installed).  I should mention I do occasionally use the wireless portion of the printer, and the laptop (running Windows 7) will access it fine.

    Hi,
Yes, we definitely have to install driver and software on all computers for any printer using USB, wired or wireless.
    Regards.

  • "unable to install printer, the RCP failed" installing Canon D1180 printers on Server 2012

    Hello,
We are getting error "unable to install printer, the remote procedure call failed" attempting to install 2 Canon D1180 multi-function printers on a MS Server 2012.  We have 2 print servers.  Attempting to install the printer generates the same error on both servers and kills the spool service on one of them.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi Patrice,
I appreciate your relpy.  The error is happening on our print server (not client side) while creating the printer object.  It's a Windows Server 2012 64bit Standard installation.
RPC is running and is set to automatic.   We have 2 Canon D1180s accounted for thus far and the error appears to be isolated to this particular printer driver.
We currently have 160 total printers on the server and aren't experiencing that error with any of the others.  Checking logs at the time of the error doesn't provide any additional insite.
I am able to install the same network printer from a client workstation (Windows 7 64bit) using the same driver without having to the do the workaround mentioned above.
    Thank You!
