I am unable to install the new itunes due to the old version (which I uninstalled) still hanging around
My old version was corrupted and would not upgrade. I have uninstalled according to Apple's direction however I cannot install the new version. I even tried a REVO uninstall of all apple products. Each reinstall attempt fails due to the old version. Help appreciated!!! Comments refering me to Apple's (useless) instructions or offering obvious assements are not needed. Thanks!!!

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

You will need to Upgrade to Snow Leopard to get a Compatible version of iTunes to Sync your Device.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions. -

All content purchased from iTunes is permanently linked to the Apple ID it was purchased with.
To update apps purchased with the old ID, you MUST sign in with that Apple ID. -

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. im having problems installing the newer version of itunes, and removing the older one, im basically itunesless because it keeps on telling me i need the itunes64.msi files which i cant find on my laptop. please help

When attempting to download the new version of itunes I was able to complete the download without a problem but cannot open the icon when everthing is done. I unistalled everything and reinstalled, I followed all the trouble-shooting guides, I attempted to download an older version and nothing is working. Prior to attempting to download this "new and improved version of itunes" everything was working fine. Unfortunately I had to update when I got a new iPhone and wanted to sync it to my old library and needed an updated version of itunes.
Restart Computer.

The current version of iTunes is rubbish. Half the time when I try to drag and drop new items to my iPod I get an error message. Why? It is not obvious how to create playlists, then when you finally manage do so using the top menu, you click 'Done' and it disappears. ***? This is a dog's breakfast and the developer should be sacked.
Apparently it is possible to set it up so that it looks and behaves like the earlier version, which worked fine--devices and playlists all appeared in fixed position o the left-hand-side men (why mess with this tried-and-true formula?). But I can't work out how to do this. Would appreciate some guidance.It is very similar to the old version.

I have the new itunes. please for the love of god help me...
I got a laptop for xmas, got all my songs on itunes, the newest one verzion 9 id guess. If i skip a song it will stay at the same point in the song when i go back to it, it has to be the MOST ANNOYING THING IN THE HISTORY OF TIME. Does anyone know how to fix this?????

Right click - get info.
Click the Options tab and set *Remember playback position* to No. -

Try a force restart by holding the power and home button down at the same time. One of two things will PROBABLY happen; 1) It will boot into iOS as normal. 2) You will get an iTunes logo with a USB cable at the bottom. If the second happens you will need to plug it into iTunes to do a restore. If neither of these happen, force restart again. Once the phone powers off, let go of both buttons and push and hold the home button and plug the phone into iTunes. This will force the phone into recovery mode. Proceed with a restore at that point.

You should have the option to turn off the passcode to not have one. If you do not have that option, then I would ask if your iPhone was giving to you by work, as your work may have setup a profile to require a passcode. To turn off you the passcode, go to Settings > Passcode and you should see a blue button that says Turn Passcode Off.

The new iTunes update mutes the volume when movies are played in full screen. Help?
Yep. After installing 11.1.3, the audio of a movie in iTunes when you switch to full screen plays for a fraction of a second and then goes off. I can play other things in the background (Pandora, ANYTHING with volume) and the volume for those is fine. Full screen iTunes, however, is muted. Furthermore, when I switch from full screen to regular, the audio picks up where it was BEFORE full screen mode and is out of sync until I quit out of the movie and reopen it.
Is this a new 'feature' setting or has the update given us some fun errors and bugs free of charge?Thanks for your reply AppleMan1958. Unforunately the playback problem was only experienced in the project described, - all other projects played fine....and I tried a lot of different ways to do it...so I really believe the whole project, including the playback (which did not work in the editing window in the right hand corner either, -nothing was shown there and the red marker line would not move across the project) just suddenly become totally corrupt...However, after deleting the project as described above and installing imovie11 I have done the whole thing over again and completed the project without problems this time.
But thanks for the tip anyway! -
Unable to install Adobe Download Assistant due to the installer being mis-configured
Download Assistant offers the upgrade from 1.0.6 to 1.2.5, so I "download now" but it won't install because "This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." I have repeated the process and get the same response every time. And I cannot run my InCopy CS6 without this.
