I am unable to open a favourite website on my Mac.

Hello!
For the last week or so, I have been unable to open one of my favourite websites on my Mac. It says that it cannot connect/find the server to this website. When I go on any other computer, I can access the site no problem. I even tried using another internet browser, Firefox and it still would not connect. I have cleared the history and the cache and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

If you are running OS X 10.9, I believe the upgrades are free (they were for me).

The keyword is "migration." Migrating or copying files for Adobe applications usually does not work. Not all of the necessary subsidiary files are copied to the right location.

Unable to open RAW image in CS5 for Mac

Hi I just installed CS5 on my mac without any problem but in using it have found that I am unable to open a raw image with an error msg saying camera raw does not recognize my camera model... how do I fix this?? have been using camera raw on my pc in CS5 without any such problem. Thanks.

Run the updater. You need at least ACR 6.4.

Yes, I tried that. It did not work for me.
I have 4 site collections. The main site collection is the only one that I receive the error.
When the user clicks on the email link and opens the document for approval, they receive the following error when they click on "Open This Task".
Element '{http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml}a is unexpected according to content model of
parent element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2009/WSSList/dataFields}Body'.
There is nothing wrong with the task list itself, just the link from the Office 2010 client.
I am wondering if there is a web config or other file on the server that is specific to the site collection??

I am unable to open links from websites

when I am browsing any website from my browser(Internet explorer,Mozilla Firefox,Google Chrome), I can get into the websites but after that when I am click on any link given on that respective site it don't open on either a new tab or a new window on any
of the browser.It shows only a blank page in a new window or a new tab when I am tried to open links given on that website.

So all these browsers exist in one system? which is the default browser? I suggest you check the default program in
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs
I guess that you've set a default browser to open these links, while the browser is broken.
or check associations under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations, especially check associations for .htm .html . ftp .http .https, etc.

Updated Firefox 28 is unable to open one specific website

1 Spreadsheet I use for work from Google drive does not open. Other files, in the same google spreadsheet format, do open up. I recently updated to Firefox 28 and switched to Microsoft security essentials for Antivirus. Clearing the cache and cookies does not help.

I am unable to open up scotiabank website. Any other secure website is fine

I have cleared cookies, I have tried to add it to the allow field nothing seems to work. I have even called the bank and they dont understand why it wont open.

Do you get any error messages or does the page show empty?
Is this a secure (https) connection?
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Safari unable to open password protected websites

I reported this bug using the bug report button on the Safari toolbar three beta version ago, and as the bug hasn't been fixed yet, I'm beginning to wonder if these bug reports actually go anywhere, especially as I once sent a "bug report" when I was not even connected to the internet and was told that the message had been sent successfully!
When I go to for example www.ofcomswindlecomplaint.net/dev/, it asks me for my username and password, and then when I submit the correct username and password, the dialog disaapears momentarily and then reappears with a message saying they were invalid - but they are not invalid, and I can log in to the site in any browser other than Safari.
Is there any way of ensuring this issue is seen by the developers? As I say, I have reported it three times via the bug report button but those bug reports seem to have gone into a black hole.

Safari has no problem with the site - if I remove the password protection Safari has no problems. It's IIS-based standard password protection that Safari isn't compatible with. And it's Safari Windows that is the problem, not the site - no other browser has any problem with it. It's a Safari bug and my question was how I can ensure that the developers are aware of it, given that the bug reports button on the Safari toolbar seems to go into a black hole.

Unable to open previous iPhoto library on new Mac

Wondering if anyone can help... Having copied my old iPhoto Library (from OS 10.6), I've tried various methods to open in new iPhoto (running OS 9) with all photos still organised into events.
1. Replacing iPhoto Library: User > Pictures > iPhoto Library, doesn't recognise photos at all
2. Reading iPhoto Library from file on external HD
3. Holding down alt key, on opening iPhoto Library and pointing to old Library, doesn't recognise image files. But then…
I actioned ‘Rebuild Library’ and had some success, I can see jumbled images, without Events data - though many images were duplicated after being enhanced (rotated).
Is there a fool proof way other than how I’ve tried, to export all photos form old iPhoto Library, with events data remaining intact and not duplicating lots of images? Is iPhoto Library Manager the best software for Mac that will sort through and find /delete ‘similar' images?
Appreciate all tried and tested suggestions, as this is about 5 years+ worth of images…

Having copied my old iPhoto Library (from OS 10.6),
What version of iPhoto last used that library before you copied it over? Are you currently running iPhoto 9.5 1? If your previous iPhoto verson was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier read Note 2 below.
This screenshot shows which previous versions of iPhoto are compatible with Mavericks. It also indicates which versions qualify for a free upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1 and which require a purchase:
Note 1: every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2: If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto 9.5.1.
If the above does not apply try the following on a new copy of your original library:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
4 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Check the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos". Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

I am unable to open AcrobatPro 9.5.2 on Mac.

This is a new problem for me. I also can't upgrade or even install Acrobat reader. When I click the icon it bumps like it is going to open, but nothing happens. I also see no preferences in my system folder.

There seems to be a LOT of problems with AcrobatPro 9.5.2 on the Mac, but Adobe doesn't seem to be addressing these. I, like you upgraded to 9.5.2, in my case from 9.5.1 (which worked great), but now there is a host of problems with 9.5.2. Unlike you, I can open 9.5.2, and I can open a pdf in 9.5.2, I can not save it, and the program hangs --usually within seconds or a minute--when I try to use any of a large number of the menu items ( I get the spinning color wheel of death foreverrrrrrrrrr....) .
Just as bad, Safari performance is also affected. It is now like a snail, and if I try to download a pdf in Safari using the acrobatPro helper application ( i.e. AdobePDFViewer.plugin) which AcrobatPro installed in my library, I again often-- but not always-- get the spinning color wheel of death--again, and again , and again... Removing the AdobePDFViewer.plugin from the Internet Plug-ins directory of the library directory restores Safari to its previous speedy gonzalas speed, and I can again download pdfs ( using the apple pdf software--not AcrobatPro). That works for downloads (using the inate apple software), but if you want to use AcrobatPro for anything--crash, crash, crash, Hang, Hang, Hang...
I've made several bug-reports to Adobe, and asked several times for advice on how to get back to version 9.5.1 but its like talking to a brick wall. Not a very nice way to treat your customers. I am afraid they will not talk to you unless you purchase a new service agreement, even though it is THEIR software update that has made it impossible to use their AcrobatPro.

Unable to open words document after the latest mac office update

I hv just updated my Office for Mac after being prompted to do so. however, we was not able to open my words doc after that.

It's possible you've reset the crop option during the placement of another PDF or .ai file and it's set to somethign that doesn't exist in the PDF you are trying to place (Bleed box, or Trim Box are likely candidates). Try showing the options when you place the file and check the crop options. It should be sticky for both PDF and .ai until changed again.

Unable to open a website with Safari

I am unable to open one particular website with Safari. I have OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. I have been reading all the related suggestions & downloaded & installed JavaForOSX.dmg and jdk-7u9. Still I cannot open this website (http://ctalanon.org). Can anyone assist me with this problem?
