Here is a solution that worked for a user who also had a problem with iTunes Software Support. This thread was for a win32 version, but Maybe this is the problem for both of you?:
IT appears that AppleApplicationSupport.msi, is not opening and installing properly.
Download and SAVE iTunesSetup.exe, where you can find it.
Then:
1. Download and install WinRAR.
2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally.
Here is a link to that fairly lengthy thread.. http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2151777&tstart=-1

The ModName is ituneup.dll; the modver is 1.0.7.0.
Do you have the TuneUp plugin installed for your iTunes? If so, I think your copy is causing the issue here. Try the following document:

  • Unable to open Itunes in Windows 7

    Hello...
I've got Itunes 9.2, and it will not open in Windows 7 64bit. I've tried removing & reinstalling it but still won't open, no error messages or anything. Any idea why it won't open and how to fix the issue?
    Thanks........ Glenn

I use Norton Internet Security 2010 that's it for protection wise
Thanks again. We're a match there, so I can walk you through this in a bit of detail.
First, head into task manager and end any running iTunes.exe processes. (If one of those is already running, that can also silently suppress an iTunes launch ... having one running while adjusting firewall rules for iTunes can also cause Norton to get a bit grumpy.)
Now bring up the main window for your NIS.
In the Network area, click "Settings".
In the Settings Window, click "Network Settings".
Scroll down to the "Smart Firewall" section. Next to "Program Control" click the "Configure" link.
That gets you into the list of firewall rules for your applications.
Check through the list for an iTunes rule.
*If you can't see an iTunes rule:* Create a new iTunes rule. Set it to "Allow".
*If you can see an iTunes rule but it isn't set to "Allow":* Click the "Access" drop-down menu for the iTunes rule and set it to "Allow".
*If you can see an iTunes rule and it is set to "Allow":* Delete the existing rule, and create a new rule for iTunes. Set it to "Allow".
After making the settings changes, click apply and restart the PC.
After the PC restarts, try launching iTunes again. Does it launch properly this time?

need help in opening itunes for winows 7

Try following steps one at a time:
    1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
    2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
    MSCONFIG
    Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
    Restart Windows.
    3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
    4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.

  • Unable to install iTunes on Windows 8 computer?

I recently bought a new Windows 8 computer (ASUS VivoTab TF810C) and am trying to install iTunes in order to sync/update/backup my iPhone 4S. I downloaded the latest version of the installer a moment ago but the file will not open. I just get the following error message:
"This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with software publisher."
I have tried searching this site but according to the download page iTunes 11 should be compatible with Windows 8. Other than that I can't find any official information from Apple (which is very annoying!). I have also tried searching the discussions here but many of the answers are out of date (pre release of iTunes 11) and others are just not helpful. Several Google searches haven't turned up any answers either. Am I missing something?
    Grateful for any advice.

Many thanks for the response. Greetings from the banks of Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra, to the banks of the Holy Yamuna.
    What is the "correct" version?
What is the difference between the different versions?
How do I find out which version I downloaded?
Where can I get different versions of the installer?
I just pressed the download button. My understanding was that this was the right version.
None of this is explained on the dowload page.

  • IPod Classic will not connect to iTunes, tried many different things to fix but nothing worked

    What I devices I have:
I have a classic iPod and a dell laptop with windows xp.
    The problem:
iTunes and iPod work fine separately, however when I plug iPod in, iTunes will not open. If iTunes was open at the time I plugged in iPod, it freezes and wont function again until iPod is disconnected. [Once I left iPod plugged in for an hour and iTunes did open, but iPod was not noted as being connected.]
iPod charges when connected. Icon takes about 5 minutes to show up in my Computer folder. When I click the icon nothing will happen or the folder will freeze up. iPod doesn’t show up in Disk Manager either. Putting iPod into Disk Mode changed nothing.
    How it happened:
Once when I plugged in iPod a window (not an iTunes window) popped up saying that the device should be formatted or it may not work properly. Not wanting my iPod to stop working, I clicked ok and now my iPod isn’t working. Lesson: don’t click strange buttons
    What I’ve done:
    > Right clicking and clicking ‘format’ on the iPod icon while in the Computer folder – computer does nothing or freezes
    > Going to ‘reset your iPod’ – didn’t fix the problem
    > Restarting iPod (turn on and off)
    > Telling iTunes to prevent iPod from syncing automatically
    > Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes
    > Put iPod in Disk Mode, computer still didn’t recognize it.
    > everyother thing google and apple's self help section has recomended
    Any more suggestions?

    Assuming a PC start here:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
It is normal for the computer to recognize the iPod as a camera since thatis how one gets photos and videos off the iPod.

  • I am unable to access iTunes from 64-bit computer.

It worked at first but now it does not. I honestly have no idea what to do and I am not able to download or update any music on my iPod. I have tried un-installing the program, and then re-installing it but I am having the same results as before. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Right afterwards, I get a notification from my computer's action center saying that iTunes has stopped working properly
Fingers crossed, your Windows 7 will have been recording some additional information about those.
First, open your Action Center and expand "Maintenance". Click "View reliability history":
Once the reliability report has been generated, look for Critical events for iTunes generated at the time of the "iTunes has stopped working" messages. Doubleclick the name iTunes in the critical events. (Don't click View solution.)
For example, here's a screenshot of my system showing what to click. (I don't have any iTunes critical events at the moment, so I'm using an Oblivion event to illustrate what we need to do.)
You should see something that looks like the following screenshot (only for iTunes, not Oblivion):

  • After my recent update, I can't get my music to copy to my itunes library. I've tried both adding file and folder, but nothing works. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you resolve it?

I've tried uninsstalling an re-installing itues sevral times, and still can't get it to work. I don't know what else to try.
    Thank you in advance

iTunes will silently ignore any request to add files that it can't get access to. It is hard to know for certain but it seems that some requests go via the current user account and some via the system account. Might be worth checking that both your account and system have full access to all the files you are trying to connect, and that they are not hidden.
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownneship from an account with administror privileges.
