I am unable to print to a Lexmark C782 printer

I have been troubleshooting a print issue for 2 weeks. I have two iMac desktops. I am trying to print to Lexmark_C782 printers via ethernet. I have selected the printers through System Preferences>Printers and Scanners. When adding the printers I select the "+" sign, select the printer on the default tab. iMac finds the correct print driver (which I have downloaded and installed). I then select ADD and the printer is loaded into the print queue. I send a print job to the printer and a few things happen; 1, the print job disappears and never prints and the print queue shows nothing in the queue. 2, I will send a print job to the printer and the printer will display a 900 or 900.43  RIP software error or 3, on occasion it has printed (very rare). This same thing happens when using IPP and LPD. At this writing, I am unable to add printers using IPP, where as before I could.  IPP doesn't find the printers. Apple is unable to find the printer. I can open the terminal window and ping the printer. I can open Safari and brtowse to the webpage of the printer.
There has not been any changes to the computer.
Computer iMac
O/S X version 10.9.2
Processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8GB
Serial Number  D2*******8J3
Toubleshooting steps
1. Deactivated Appletalk on printers. I have read it is no longer supported, Apple uses bonjour
2. I have downloaded and installed the Mac OSX print driver from Lexmark but found that wasn't the latest.
3. I have made sure the latest print driver is installed. Version 11.2. Found that on the Apple website
4. I have innstalled the printer via IPP, LPD and bojour
5. I have 18 C782 printers
6. I have a network at my office
     16 workstations
The workstation i am working on is connected into a switch that is connected into another switch in the closet
All C782 printers are in one physical location with static IP addresses.
They are all connected into a 24 port switch which is then connected to another switch in a closet
Both switches are connected via different CAT 5 cables to the same switch in the closet.
7. I am trying to print from Adobe programs.
8. With the exact same setup I am able to print successfully from Windows 7 to all printers without any type of errors
All of the printers are  printing images, creative fonts on greeting cards (Adobe In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc). Not sure if that matters but thought worth mentioning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I talked to Adobe Support tonight and found this issue to be a known problem with some of the Adobe Cloud products when using older hardware, in this case the C782.
So, we found a workaround. Unfortunately the work around isn’t efficient and adds more steps to their normal printing routine
Open InDesign and create, modify delete the card
Select FileàExport
A window will appear. Pick the location you wish to save the file
Once the File is saved another window will appear
“EXPORT Adobe PDF”
An Export to Adobe PDF window will appear. Accept all defaults. MAKE CERTAIN “VIEW PDF
After EXPORTING” is CHECKED
Select Export
Once EXPORT is complete the file will open automatically in Adobe Acrobat
Most likely the screen will be very large
Select the + - sign at the top of the page to adjust the page size to view the image
Select FileàPrint
The Print window will appear
Select the printer from the drop down
# of COPIES is just below Printer
Select OK
I hope this helps anyone who is having similar issues
Thanks

  • Printing problem with Lexmark Z43

Printing with a Lexmark Z43 printer in any application, the print will stall at approximately 35 to 45% of the printing job and not continue. Any advice would be helpful.

There is a list of Lexmark drivers included with Leopard here:

  • How can I change Firexox's default printer to my system default printer?

When the Print... dialogue comes up in Firefox, it shows that it will print to PaperPort. My system default printer is a Lexmark network printer. I checked my computer's Devices and Printers, and the Lexmark is checked as the default. Firefox is the only application that prints to PaperPort as a default and only since a recent update to Firefox 29.0.1. I would like the Lexmark to be the default printer for Firefox, as it is for all my other applications. It is annoying to have to manually select the correct printer each time I want to print.

Hello davecahn, try to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox#w_reset-firefox-printer-setting Reset Firefox printer setting], close firefox, restart it and check it again. If does not work then, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox#w_reset-all-firefox-printer-settings Reset all Firefox printer settings and check it again].

  • Unable to Add Lexmark Z35 Printer

The driver does not show up in the driver selection pull down menu, the computer was be able to detect the printer via USB but there is no correct driver for me to select. I tried to reinstall the driver sets from the Tiger DVD and it does not work, the driver still wasn't showing up in the pull down menu. I then tried to go to Lexmark's website and download the driver there but StuffIt Expander cannot open the HQX file, it gave me an error message saying the file is compressed differently.
    Any hints and/or tips?
    Thanks.

Since there is no edit options here, I just did a search and found out that all the non-modern drivers are not listed (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301175#lexmarkdrivers) in the pull down menu, however the note said "3. Drivers that are not denoted as Modern Drivers cannot be selected when adding an IP printer or Windows shared printer." This is neither an IP printer nor a Windows shared printer, the printer is directly connect to my MacBook's USB port.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
EDIT: Well apparently there is an edit option but I can't edit my original post for some reason.

  • Unable to Uninstall Lexmark X75 Printer

    Hello All,
Hoping I can receive some help. I have a MacBook Pro with Leopard/MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8).
I am trying uninstall the Lexmark X75 and it is not going away. The printer is still listed under 'Printer.'
I have tried contacting Lexmark and their directions were useless. Per their directions, I clicked on the Uninstall in the Lexmark All in One folder, but after the unintallation was 'complete,' a window popped up stating that not all files were removed and they had to be removed manually.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of Lexmark X75 completely?
Thank you in advance. Please let me know if you need further information.

Go to "Print and Scan" in System Preferences. Press, "Control", and click on the printer on the left side. A dialog box will open. Click on "Reset Printing System".
This will delete that printer from your system completely.

  • Why can't I print a document created on my MacBook Air with Pages via a wired Lexmark X2650 printer?

I am unable to printe a document I created on my Mac with Pages via a wired Lexmark X2650 printer. Of course, I have already confirmed that it is correctly set up and connected. Why?

TextEdit is an application on your Mac.
Type TextEdit into Spotlight (magnifying icon top right on the menubar) to quickly locate and open it.
It is the basic Text/Word Processor (but actually very capable) that comes with all Macs and a good place to test differences if you hit a problem.

  • Print postcards from 'Pages' with a Lexmark C544dn printer?

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to print postcards from 'Pages' with a Lexmark C544dn printer. As far as I can say, I have correctly set all parameters, but the output is always blank. Any ideas? FYI Lexmark have been unable to help!!

Hi Jerry, and thanks for your response.
What I want to achieve is a landscape postcard with one line of text across the top. I use this to stick on a few sticky notes for training workshop participants to use, to record their special interests for the session. I have done this for years with a Windows PC, MS Word and an HP4500dn LaserJet, and assumed that it would be a simple process with the new set-up (iMac, OS-X 10.7.4, iWork Pages 4.1 and Lexmark C544dn).
I started a blank document, with the paper size set to 6 x 4 inches landscape format. I re-set the margins to suit the size of the postcard, so that the text appeared to be in the right position, on screen.
I used the MP tray to feed the paper (there is only this one input, apart from the regular paper tray), and have tried this at the left side, in the centre and at the right side, in both landscape and portrait format.
I have even tried putting a sheet of portrait A4 paper through, and the printing shows up two thirds towards the bottom of the sheet, across the narrow dimension of the sheet. This makes me think that the machine is 'printing' after the paper has passed through.
Any idea what I am missing? Thanks, Geoff
Your trial with a full size paper tells the story, I think. Your ink is missing the post card. Try again with a small card. After initiating the Print function, make sure you are seeing the expanded Print dialog with the preview on the left side of the dialog window. Does everything look OK there? Paper correct size and orientation? Text showing where it should in the preview?

  • IPP Printing to a Lexmark C910 over WAN

We recently moved a Lexmark C910 from our main office to a remote office.
The remove office is connected to the main office via a T-1.
The IP address of the printer was changed to a valid address on the remote subnet.
I have been unable to print to the printer from our main office from an Apple computer. Windows users in our main office and remote office are able to print to it just fine.
I have defined the printer as an IPP printer, entered the IP address, and it detected the Lexmark C910 driver (which is current from their website).
I am able to print a one page dopcument from 'TextEdit', but others apps do not print. The job arrives at the printer. I am able to call up the HTTP interface to view the print jobs. They all show these stats:
    Job Time: 5 seconds
    Pages: 0
    Protocol: Unknown
    Host Name: IPP
Job Name: <My Print Job Name>
    User Name: <My Account Name>
    Queue Name: ipp
(Jobs sent from Windows using IP printing have a queue name of 9100)
It's almost like the job arrives and is flushed, or just gets dropped.
    Any ideas ?

The windows port 9100 should have been your clue. That protocol isn't IPP, it is HP jetdirect (= port 9100 printing). Set up in Printer Setup using HP Jetdirect protocol (no queue name, the 9100 port is built into this protocol).

  • I have a imac and a pc laptop set up with my wireless lexmark x7675 printer through my bthome hub network, but cannot get macbook pro to work

i have a lexmark wireless printer, its connected to my imac via wireless bthome hub connection, works fine, so does my pc laptop.  but when it comes to connect my macbook pro aswell it wont work.  i have installed lexmark drivers on macbook, i have follwed the wireless connection setup and plugged in via usb port. it says it has connected successfully, but it will not print.  i had it connected at one point, but would only print if the imac was on, but now it wont even do that.
please help, it seems like instead of connecting through bthome hub it wants to connect to my imac, how do i change this?

Well there would probably be different settings for the wireless.
For example, with a Lexmark printer although I needed to do nothing to get it to work via USB, to get the wifi working I had to use a special setup option for getting the wifi to work on my pc.
You can probably download the manual for your printer from the manufacturers website, and it should tell you how to get it to work with your printer.

  • HP 5510,windows 7, new setup of printer, "unable to communicate with printer" when i try to print

HP 5510, Windows 7, new printer, just picked it up!, "unable to communicate with printer" when I try to print a page, all network conections check out OK with Print Diagnostic Utility.

Are you receiving any error messages when you print from the desktop? Its possible the print spooler is having issues which is not pushing the jobs to the printer. Lets restart the print spooler to get any old jobs that could be stuck in the queue removed.
    1. Press the start orb in the bottom left on the screen.
    2. Click on "Run"
    3. Type "services.msc" (without the quotes)
    4. Locate the Print Spooler service in the right column
    5. Click restart on the service link on the left
After it restarts the spooler go ahead and retry printing. Let me know if this works.
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • I have an IPad Air and a Lexmark Pro  P205 which is connected wireless to my HP Desktop. How can I get my Ipad to print from my Lexmark ?

I have an Desk Tp HP. On necked wireless to a Lexmark Printer Pro P 205 .   Several months ago I also got an IPad Air and  would like to print from my Ipad .  Must  I buy an Air Print printer or is there a way I can use my Lexmark

You may be able to install an AirPrint sharing application on your PC to enable printing.
Google for "AirPrint for Windows" and you should get several hits.
Alternatively you may be able to use Lexmarks Printing App if it supports your printer model.

  • Trying to add a DELL (Lexmark) V715w printer to my MacBook Pro

Purchased a DELL branded Lexmark V715w AIO printer a month or so back.  I was able to install it to my Windows based home system.  When I try and add it to my MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, I cannot get it to print at all.  It will show up in the print and scan Queue fine, but will never print anything when a document or picture is sent to it.
I have tried multiple versions of both DELL and Lexmark drivers, updated the firmware, downloaded the newest MAC Lion drivers to no avail.  I like this printer, and hope that someone can assist me in getting it setup for use.
When I try and complete teh Lexmark Wireless assistant, it hangs at the Connect USB cable screen and never allows the "Continue" button to be selected (stays grayed out), I found a fix for this on the windows side, but nothing for us MAC users.
Any assistantance would be greatly appreciated, starting to get tired of saving to a UB Stick and getting on the Windows machine to print items.

There is a flaw in OS X Lion.
    From this article.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4670
If the printer is a wireless capable printer and it is connecting to a wireless network, make sure it is properly connected to the wireless network first. The printer may have to be connected to the Mac initially via USB.
As stated in that article the printer may need to be connect directly to the Mac Via USB during the initial setup.
    What a joke.
    Good luck.
I have an idea. Sell the Mac, don't look back and by a Windows notebook that actually is easier to use.

Unless there are drivers provided by Apple to work with the printer, you're out of luck. The latest drivers provided by Lexmark are for OS X 10.4 Intel. Unfortunately, this can happen when slightly older peripherals and newer software don't mesh.
