I am having the EXACT same problem. It started on June 16th also. I found out that code 5002 is supposedly a billing issue. The article directed me to edit my billing information (even though it was correct). I tried to submit the new information and was told my request could not be processed, try later. I have been trying for 3 days. Was in contact with customer service. first they said it was an Itunes Stores issue with the software. they told me it was resolved. Then they had me uninstall and then reinstall Itunes, which still didnt resolve it. I am starting to think its still an Itunes Store issue. Still trying to cintact customer service about this.

Unable to complete photo book order on ipad

Hi, I hope this is the right place to get some help. Regarding placing an iphoto photo book order on an ipad.
I have been working on a photo book project for a long time, and want to finally order some copies of the book. Everything has worked fine, except that I get a message that I have some clipped text that may be exceeding its boundaries. I can't figure out where this is, no warning triangles are showing, so I choose to proceed with the order anyway. The next page is black/dark grey with a small icon of the front page of the photo book, and it says "done" ("ferdig" in Norwegian) on top. I can click on some words in blue writing on the top right of the page, "add delivery address" (in Norwegian). When I try to type somehing in there, nothing happens.
Aaargh, this is so frustrating! I have checked that my address and credit card info is valid, in my apple id-account(itunes).
Shouldn't there be some uploading of the album? And a choice of how many copies etc I want? I have checked my email and there are no order confirmations, so I apparently havent placed an order yet, despite the "done"/"ferdig" on top of the page.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? What can I do?

It sounds like you are unable to purchase a project youve been working on for a good long while, but the order process is not working as expected. I would start by verifying you have Express Checkout enabled in your Account Settings when you are at http://store.apple.com, with this info:
You can review or edit your express checkout settings by accessing the Account section from the main navigation bar. Sign-in with your Apple ID and password to view your account settings. Click on the Edit button if you wish to edit your shipping address or payment method. You can also enable or disable the express checkout feature for this computer by moving the slider to the respective position.

If so and your other billing info is correct, quit all the running apps on the iPad:
iOS: Force an app to close

Software shut down in middle of purchasing photo book. Will it continue to purchase?

I was in midddle of up-loading my photo to purchase a photo book, but software failed and enforsed to shut down.
Do I need to re-purchase, or assume it will continue my order. Unfortunately, i can't see if my uploading has completed for purchase or not.

You receive a confirming email and in your account in the Apple Store (store.apple.com) you can see the status of yoru order - so looking there and in your email will tell you if the order is being processes

Purchase Photo Book Question

I created a photo book on Aperture 2 back in 2010 and now want to order another copy. When I clicked BUY BOOK, Aperture 2 informed me that I could only purchase books with Aperture 3. Is there a way to purchase a photo book made in Aperture 2 without having to purchase Aperture 3? I don't want to upgrade because I have since switched to Adobe LR.

What is the exact error message?

If you have iPhoto '09 or '11, you could also try to recreate your book in iPhoto, to order a printed book from Apple.

Purchase photo book on UK Store from Australia

I want to purchase a photo book from the UK store for UK delivery, but it won't let me enter a Billing address for Australia? Without this, I cannot purchase because my credit card is Australian!

Generally the delivery address and billing address of the credit card used for purchase must be in the same country.

Unable to Purchase iPhoto Book

I'm trying to purchase a book in iPhoto, but when I click buy book or buy prints, nothing happens. I've tried shutting down my computer and iPhoto, checking my credit card and applie ID info and I recently updated my credit card. Any suggestions?! This is soooo frustrating.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
NOTE: Before ordering the book create a PDF copy of it as described in this Apple document: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture. Check it for errors and save to compare to the printed copy when it arrives.

Unable to Create Photo Book in '09

I've gone through all the tutorials and have followed procedures on how to create a photo book and I encounter the following problems. When the screen pops up to add the book and select which type book and theme, nothing shows up!!! If I go ahead and make a title for my book this pops up, "There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable." Where are my themes???? Shouldn't they be there?

Unable to order photo book without paid Iphoto upgrade?

I am currently running OSX10.6.8 and Iphoto 6.0.6. I have always been a fan of the Iphoto Photobook feature, and in the last 8 months I have got married and spent 6 months travelling the world, and have 1000's of photos and several phtotobooks to make, but I can't do it running this version of Iphoto. I upgraded about a year and a half ago from Tiger to Snow Leopard, and would have thought that any upgrades that affect a feature working would be free, but it is £14.99 to upgrade, which I am not willing to pay just to be able to order some photobooks (which obviously Apple will be earning from).
Is there anyway I can continue using the photobook feature of Iphoto without having to pay money and upgrade?

ID, I was asked to enter Apple ID and Password again and, strange, my question and answers was shown, but I had to enter a new one to go a step further.
And are your answers to the security questions conformig to apple's security rules - at least six characters long? The password complicated enough? See Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account
If your password and security questions are too simple, change them. The Apple Store seems to be rejecting them otherwise.

Unable to purchase, iTunes network connection error?

I'm trying to purchase a music video for my son who has autism. I can click on "buy" and it says "Purchasing Not Over You" for several minutes and then I receive an error message that there was a network connection error and to try again later. It's been 3 hours at least. Does anyone know what's going on? If we can't download this first thing in the morning, it's going to be a firestorm of a tantrum. Help, Apple, you're supposed to be great for the autism community, but this is killing us!

Have you tried tapping on your id in Settings > Stores on your phone and logging ouy of your account and then logging back in and seeing if that 'refreshes' the account on it ?

Purchasing photos in iPhoto without a .mac account

Is it possible to purchase photos, books and cards through iphoto without having a .Mac account. I have friends with a new iMac, they have no use for a .Mac account. They just want to purchase photos, cards and books via iPhoto. They have actually created some cards and books but when they try to purchase it asks for their .Mac account.

You don't need one of those $99 .Mac accounts for purchasing, but you do have to set up a .Mac ID (free) so you can tie it to a credit card which will be used for purchasing prints and books.
If they buy from iTunes, or even the online Apple Store, they might already have an account set up for them.
The $99 .Mac account is a premium service that gives you email, webspace and some online tools as well as iWeb integration. If you already have that, then you can set up your purchasing using the same account as an ID, but you don't need to be a subscriber.

Non-latin characters in photo books

Has anybody used symbols or non-latin alphabets when designing photo books? They come out on screen and on proofs just fine (well... it's an Apple, isn't it?) and I assume iPhoto just goes ahead and puts Unicode characters into .pdf verbatim before uploading, however, online printing services may have a problem when processing text.
I am particularly interested in using Greek/Cyrillic alphabets when printing in the UK.

The problem has gone away. I suspect it was a problem with corrupted prefs. I trashed the Safari prefs and rebooted to clear another problem and no longer have the problem with search using Japanese characters.
FWIW, the problem I had when I trashed the prefs was with trying to mail a Safari page. I ran in to this originally a week or two ago and called Apple who told me to delete the Safari prefs and reboot. (Actually they gave an alternate procedure to try first, but I didn't bother.) That appears to be a recurrent problem and since there was no hesitation on the solution when I called I would guess that it will be fixed in an early patch. I had already tried trashing the mail prefs since that's where the problem actually appeared (an extra copy of Mail would open, and then hang) but it was in fact the Safari prefs that was causing the problem. I've had to do the delete-and-reboot routine every few days. Not sure why the reboot is required, but it obviously is since just quitting Safari or even logging out doesn't fix it.
