I am unable to save my multiple tabs while closing Firefox

I am unable to save my multiple tabs while closing Firefox. I even tried re-installing and re-launching the firefox in safe mode using the following command "firefox -safe-mode", but even that did not help.
I tried looking for any option in the tools, but did not find any.
Please help.

Create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

  • I am unable to Save the "Note" field while Creation of new  Contact

    Hi ,
I  am unable to save the Note field while Creation of Contact in Web UI.
Its happening in the Dev system but not in the QA Web UI.
I have tried to debug  the component BP_CONT, But no use.
Can any one tell me the what could be the problem?
    Regards,
    DN

    Hi DN,
The Notes part comes from the following view:
BP_DATA/Notes (Context Node: NOTES; Attribute: TDLINE)
You can debug in this view.
It could also be a case of missing authorization - the entered text don't get saved when the user does not have authorization to save text in text objects. Please check.

  • I am unable to open multiple tabs within the Firefox browser. Are there any updates available to correct this?

I cannot open more than one tab in my firefox browser. This includes clicking in the + button for a new tab, using the ctrl+t shortcut and if I try to select 'new tab' from the File menu. However a new tab will open when i click a link within my current window.

  • HOW MAY I SAVE MULTIPLE-OPENED BROWSING TABS WHEN CLOSING FIREFOX, PLEASE?

When closing Firefox I would like to be able to leave some tabs open so my next session just carries on, as though I had left a real $5.00 note bookmark in an ole-fashioned book.

Firefox 4 automatically saves your tabs and windows when you exit to restore them just click the Firefox button>History menu>Restore Previous Session and it will open your previous tabs and windows in addition to your current tabs and windows.

  • Firefox 4 sucks! Why can't I save my tabs when closing Firefox, & why can't I have a red X to stop a slow page from loading?

    NOT FASTER!! MUCH SLOWER!!
When I close Firefox, I can no longer save my tabs. WHAT GIVES?
When a new page isn't coming up, I can no longer stop it from loading & try again.
WHY do my tabs need to be above the toolbars?
I've loved using Firefox & have used it exclusively for about the last ten years, but if this is how it's always going to be now, I'm going to look for a new browser!
''moderator edited the title of this thread''

The described fix seems to work fine, and I appreciate the fast response.
Firefox developers, I've been a developer myself. Setting the default to not save tabs in Firefox 4 is going to make a lot of people VERY angry.
I'm a fairly educated user. After upgrading, the first thing I did was to check Preferences and try to make sure all settings were good to maintain what I've been accustomed to doing. I didn't take the Firefox 4 tour, but shut down the application to make sure caches were emptied. There was no warning about my multiple tabs, but it was too late to stop the process. When I opened it again, all my tabs were gone, some of which related to material or local logins that I will have a hard time re-creating.
If my wife had done this, you would have heard her swearing without benefit of phone or online chat window, no matter where your labs are. :-)
For everyone's sanity, please don't turn off the Preserve Tabs on Logout function without warning.

  • After upgrading to firefox 4 it seems it lost it's feature to retain tabs when exiting multiple tabs when closing the browser.

Before upgrading to the newer firefox 4 I use to exit with multiple tabs opens that had a "save and continue" feature where when upon starting up again it will bring up the tabs I had when I closed it which saved me headaches to always to bookmark and finding it and opening it again as I have 100s of bookmarks. Is there anyway to implement this feature into firefox 4 or does it still have it that I just have no knowledge of using it?

I've reverted to 6.0.2 which you can still get here:
    ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/
    and everything works fine again.
I'll wait until they sort it out before updating again

  • The privacy option doesn't work in 5.0: There's no notification given when multiple tabs are closed.

The privacy option in 5.0 doesn't work.
When exiting Firefox with multiple tabs open, no notification is given...
How can I go back to Firefox 4?
I had the google toolbar when I had firefox 4... I upgraded to 5.0 and it still works... My friend tried to load it and it doesn't work.

''The privacy option in 5.0 doesn't work.''
Do you mean that Privacy options can't be accessed in the Options dialog, or Private Browsing doesn't work??
Could you test with a new profile to see whether the update might have caused a settings problem, or you have an incompatible add-on?
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, close Firefox and fire up the Profile Manager to create a new profile: [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
If that work, you can migrate your bookmarks, saved passwords, and other key settings to the new profile, see: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
    Hope this helps.

  • I lose saved tabs after closing Firefox 7.0.1/Vista

I have configured FF through Options to save tabs when closing. I shut down my system every night, and approximately once every 2 weeks when restarting FF it can't recover my previous session. The "We're embarrassed..." window option to restore tabs is grayed out. History... Restore Previous Session is grayed out, so I can't restore that way. Closing FF and restarting it doesn't solve the problem. I am also experiencing crashes once every 1-2 weeks. Is this loss of saved sessions a known bug?

A possible cause is an update of Firefox.
If you notice an update then try to close Firefox via Firefox/File > Exit instead of clicking the Apply Update button.

  • How to close locked tab without closing firefox

When firefox freezes how do I close offending tab without closing firefox

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)
*If you have many extensions then first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
*Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it.

  • My tabs are all empty even though I have FF 29.0.1 set to save windows and tabs when closing

I have the setting: Startup - When firefox starts - show windows and tabs from last time.
This almost always works, but not today. The odd thing is that all the tabs are still there, including the pinned ones on the left (square empty boxes), but all the tabs are blank ("New tab").
Except one that appeared on startup, the one that was active when i closed FF last night.
If I click on History - Show all history = No items.
Restore previous session is greyed out, as are Recently closed tabs and windows.
It looks bad, what can I do to restore the previous session?
How would this have happened, and how can I prevent it in future?
Did the last FF update (today or yesterday) have anything to do with it?
There is a sessionstore.bak-[long string of numbers] dated 8/2/14, and a sessionstore.js dated 9/5/14, and a sessioncheckpoints, json dated 9/4/14 in the Profile default folder.

I'm a little puzzled that your post shows Firefox 29.0.1 but you said you updated this week (Firefox 32.0 was released this week). ???
One of your settings is '''places.history.enabled''' = false, which could be a problem for saving history. I'm not sure how that could have gotten switched. Could you check here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
Under "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" make sure you have the settings you want.
Note: I think I have read that if Firefox is set to clear history at shutdown, then Firefox might not save any history during your session.
Can you find an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop? If the Reset feature ran, your old data would be in that folder and we could discuss how to restore them.

  • How to save tabs when closing firefox 4

I have just upgraded from Firefox 3.6.x to Firefox 4. I had assumed that the new version would use the same settings as the previous one but it doesn't

  • How do I keep multiple tabs open in Firefox?

When using Firefox if I am working in a session under one tab and need to open up a different browser, I use the "+" to add another tab and open up a different session.  When I go back to the first tab to work, it closes the session on me and I have to log back in again.  This is so frustrating!  Is this a Firefox thing or did I turn something off on my mac?  I am not a computer geek so I apologize if my lingo jives.

Well I'm assuming here you have your OS X 10.6 fully Software Updated and Firefox is at the latest version.

This might be a security issue with the site your logged into, to prevent cross site scripting/hijacking etc. depending upon the site.
I  suggest you delete all your installed add-ons, delete Firefox and reinstall FF and it's add-ons for security reasons.
The latest version of FF is 6.01 and removes the compromised Diginor Certificate domain that might be causing your issue with the logged in site.
In your Keychain program in OS X, under the preferences set the certificates to Best Attempt, Best Attempt, OCSP and reboot this will enable constant checks for compromised certificates upon each SSL visit.
Naturally Apple and Microsoft are late to the party in updating their certificates.

  • Firefox opens multiple tabs while clicking on "Manage account" under File- Account in Office 2013 opens the right Tab and another random URL-Tab

I have office 365 installed. When I click on Manage Account under File->Accounts in office 2013, it opens 2 Tabs in Firefox.
    Tab1: https://office.microsoft.com/MyAccount.aspx?ver=15&app=winword.exe&MachineKey=02011-005-827906&fromAR=1
    Tab2: http://www.4a1.com/ ( which is random)
The version of firefox is 24 and set as the default browser.
    Operating System: Windows 7SP1
Already contacted Internet Service provider-Optimum, also the antivirus for security concerns but could not find anything from their end respectively.
The issue occurs on Windows 8 laptop also.

    Thank you for your reply.
(FYI: The above question was posted by a ''Microsoft Research Engineer'' and me since neither of us can figure out why this is happening. So the brain-bank on this is pretty big!)
I scanned with all of the above scanners. (Thank you for the links!)
I also scanned my system with Adaware, Super Antispyware, Norton Internet Security 2013, and Norton Power Eraser . . . and Kapersky v14 on the Windows 8 system)
NONE of the scanners reported anything other than the usual trackers.
Firefox was un-installed, re-installed, reverted back 4 versions ''and'' v3. Chrome shows the same result.
The Windows 8 system was wiped and restored. Office 365 was immediately re-installed and showed the SAME behavior except that the "random" 3-character URL was different . . .
. . . This extra Tab ''only'' shows up when I open any Office 2013 product to a New document or worksheet go to File>Account>Manage Account.
