I am unable to sign into itunes store

I have downloaded itunes onto laptop with windows 8 and it is running great, however when I go into itunes store and try to sign in, it keeps saying appleID has not been used before in the Itunes store and I need to review my account. To be fair, I haven't used it in the store yet, but when I click on review it takes me to the page for setting up an apple ID which I don't need to do! I have checked account online and as I am posting this, it shows username and password are valid as I have to sign in to type this!
Any ideas? Have I missed something?

It just keeps trying, nothing happens or sometimes it times out. I switched laptops so it isn't the same laptop that I used to activate my Ipad with. I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing but still no luck.I even deleted Itunes and then downloaded Itunes again but still unable to connect to the I tunes store on its own or while syncing the Ipad. Not sure what steps to take other than going back to the old laptop.

  • Unable to sign into iTunes store...java error

Hi, when I try to sign in to my iTunes I get this error.
    java.lang.outofmemoryerror: java heap space
I just bought an iMac and transferred all my iTunes files to this computer. I have authorized it and it is one of two computers currently authorized for purchases. Since I can't sign on I can't purchase either. I requested a change to my password, which I "changed" it to the password I was always using, still no results. Any suggestions?

Have you heard anything more about this? I'm having the same problem trying to log into iTunes on my DELL. Can't seem to find any answers on net.

  • Please help - unable to sign into iTunes for two weeks

    Hi,
This is my last resort I've been through iTunes support and they referred me to this forum. For 2 weeks I've been unable to sign into iTunes. I cant do this on my MacBookPro (OSX 10.5.8) or my iPhone. It just hangs and then I get the error: 'We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection failed. There was an error in the iTunes Store, Please try again later'
I've re installed iTunes, had my password reset and have called my ISP and found out that there is nothing wrong with my network connection. I'm having no other problems with connecting to sites, sending emails etc, only with iTunes. And prior to two weeks ago I had no problem signing in. Please if anyone has any suggestions it would be great as apple seems to have given up on me.
    Thanks very much!
    Lisa

In System Prefs>Personal - check in the Security>Firewall tab and see what are your settings.

  • HT5622 Why is my ipad suddenly showing my husbands apple id as the option to sign into itunes store?

Why is my ipad suddenly showing my husbands apple id as the option to sign into itunes store? I've tried plugging into computer and synching but it is still showing his id when I try to go to store on ipad? How do I attach my id back to the ipad?

Go into the itunes app. Go to featured. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. Log out. Then login with your id. Chances are he used your ipad for something and logge into his own account.
    Hope this helped!

  • Can't sign into iTunes Store since upgrading to 10.6.0.40 on Windows 7.

The iTunes 10.6.0.40 upgrade will not allow me to sign into the iTunes Store on my Windows 7 laptop.  I did a uninstall and reinstall following the technote titled "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7" from the Apple support site.  On my home desktop still running 10.5 I believe, I have no problem signning into the store.  Any suggestions anyone?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, sign-in and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • After reinstall can't sign into itunes store

after reinstall can't sign into itunes store

    Hi,
you updated to iTunes 11.0.3 (42), and before that, all worked fine?
Instead, now, everytime when iTunes chooses to have you enter your credentials again, they're practically ignored, i.e. the dialog re-opens just like before, like in a time-loop (à la Groundhog Day)... Of course, if you enter something wrong, just to test, you get an error message telling that, but that doesn't help at all.
If so, or even if not, try this:
log out (click on account to do so)
log back in (of course, your Apple ID is empty then!)
you're good for another [insert Apples timeout here]...
    Hoo-ray. Really nice, isn't it.
I already filed a bug report; please swamp Apple with more “Thank You”s by clicking iTunes (next to the Apple on the left-hand-side), then “visit iTunes feedback site”, and fill the forms there. Thanks!
    HTH, Felix

  • Can't sign into ITunes store after upgrading

I had to have my laptop repaired, and I had to reinstall ITunes.  I downloaded the 64bit version from the ITunes website,

    Okay... and what's the issue?
What happens when trying to sign into iTunes?

  • Unable to log into itunes store (0x80092013) and update problems

I am having problems logging into the itunes store using itunes 10.6.0.40 in Wndows 7 in the uk  which results in the error message shown below:
'We could not complete your itunes store request.  An unknown error occurred (0x80092013).  There was an error in the itunes store please try again later"
However, I am able to browse the itunes store without any problems (this does not require logging in).
In addition selecting the menu item Help > Check for updates in itunes results in the message "The itunes server could not be contacted.  Please check your internet connection or try again later'
I also have two ipods and an ipad and clicking on the <Check For Update> button on each of them within itunes results in the error message "The ipod update server could not be contacted.  Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connectivity is active or try again later".
In trying to fix the above problems I have tried the following:
    Re-installed itunes
    Ran ipconfig /flushdns
Changed my dns entries to use dynamic dns entries and also tried googles settings (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
Put entries in the hosts file for gs.apple.com etc
Reset the winsock using the command netsh winsock reset
Turned Norton smart firewall off completely
Ensured interent settings were set to 'Check for server certificate revocation' was unticked and "SSL 3.0" and "TLS 1.0." were both ticked
General internet connectivity is working fine it is just itunes where the problems are.
I can also log onto the itunes store from the ipad itself without a problem.
I also have a Windows Vista laptop which can connect to the itunes store without a problem and can also run the menu item Help > Check for updates and results in a message saying itunes is the latest version.  This also runs Norton Smart Firewall and is having no problems.  So I am assuming from this that my setup is not at fault and it is not an isp issue.
I have also noticed that a number of other people are reporting problems logging into the itunes store and also error 0x80092013.
The results of an itunes diagnostic test (Help > Run Diagnostics) are shown below (this shows that the itunes store can be browsed but attempts at prurchasing etc cannot be completed)

I have spoken directly with Apple over the last couple of hours.  They are aware of the problem and are going to ask their engineering department to investigate.  It is perhaps not a big priority at the moment as they say they only have 30 confirmed reports of the issue worldwide.
Is it possible that there are other people who are having the same problem and are watching the forums waiting for answers?  If so, please report the problem.  This is the only way for Apple to understand the scale of the problem (if indeed it is a big problem) and to be able to escalate the issue and allocate suitable resources.  The issue we are seeing is:
I mentioned what you said about downgrading - I have also contemplated this but I am expecting I will need to run 10.6 for HD media and syncing with the new iPad.  Apple agree downgrading is not an acceptable solution, and there must be a way forward, but if you dont need 10.6 then why not downgrade until the problems are resolved.
My take on the problem is this:
The error code is the same as a Windows error code that suggests the issue is with accessing the certificate revovation lists (CRL).  iTunes 10.6 is a signed application that needs to access a CRL to determine whether its certificate is still active.   iTunes own diagnostic tool points in the same direction too.  The network connectivity test (see image below) shows the network interface and internet connection are fine.  It is just the secure link that is failing.  It is possible to view the apple store, and download podcasts etc.. but it is not possible to sign into an account or make purchases.
One person has replied to many of these postings suggesting the problem can be fixed by updating DNS settings, which could add weight to this theory.  The person who posted this didnt explain why this worked for them, but if DNS settings have not propogated fully for a new CRL this could be causing problems for some users.  If so this could just fix itself in the coming days, or it may work if you can connect to the internet from a different connection like a public wifi hotspot.
I will post updates if I get anywhere or hear anything back from Apple.

  • Problems signing into itunes store account from windows vista

I have recently downloaded the latest version of itunes for a new computer running Windows Vista. I already have an apple ID account to use with the store and have been able to access this on other computers, but every time I try to sign in on the new computer it has an error message that the "network connection has timed out". I have searched for help for this, which appears to be a common issue, and all the recommended solutions like checking firewall settings have not helped as I am still unable to sign in. My internet connection is fine, and I am able to access the store itself, just not my account.
If anyone could help with this problem I would be very grateful.

Excellent. If you ever want to uninstall that trial Norton, keep in mind that you need a special removal tool from Symantec. Simply uninstalling it via Add/Remove Programs does NOT delete it from your PC. It really is horrible software.

  • Getting an "unknown error' when trying to sign into iTunes Store

When I try to sign into the iTunes store, it is giving me an "Unknown Error" message, without an error code or anything. I have tried restarting the computer and that didn't help. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
    Windows 8
    iTunes 11
    Thanks

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me...  I only had to reset the iTunes cache
    1) Open iTunes
    2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
    3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
    4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.
