I am unable to sign into my FaceTime account on my MacAir

When I input my password and user name, I clicked on Sign In. Nothing happens and twice it showed this message: "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." I checked my internet and it is working just fine. What should I do next?

    A week ago I was unable to sign into my email account, after a few days I deleted the account.  I thought I would add it again to see if it would work.  I have a talktalk account so tried adding under other but I got the message unable to sign in, try again.  I have tried under all the different email accounts options, gmail, virgin just to see if I can get it to work, but nothing does.  Help, I need access to my emails!

  • I am currently unable to sign into Facetime.

    As the title says, I am currently unable to sign into Facetime from my MacBook Pro, Mac OS x 10.6.8. This has been the case for three weeks. I have not "upgraded" to Mavericks and I have not changed any settings. I have rebooted the computer several times and checked the time zone settings (having the computer in a different time zone than the settings is apparently an issue). Everything appears to be in order. I am able to sign in to the Apple Store and this forum and my iPod 4G connects just fine with the same Apple ID and password. Any ideas?

    Used to work perfectly, now keeps asking for Apple ID but won't accept. Have changed the Apple ID, still a no go. Updates to IOS 8.1.3 and tried all the other restarts etc. no luck.

    The fix was supposed to be updating to iOS 8.1.3 but since that didn't work, look here for some other suggestions. Make sure that you are signed into iCloud and into your Apple ID

    OK, I called Apple Support (since the iPad is brand new) and got a rep to fix the problem.  He manually sent a verification email, which I received, and I was able to complete the process and get Facetime working.  For some reason, the Apple ID and password (as far as the iPad was concerned) needed verification.  Don't know why, but am glad it is now working!

    I'm unable to sign into FaceTime on my MacBook Pro.  I am asked to check my network connection and try again.  However, all my network connections are fine and I've verified my appleID/Password.  I've also restarted my MacBook Pro.  Scratching my head...

    The following worked for me:
    Reset your network settings
    This is easy.
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap the Reset Network Settings button. A prompt will pop up asking you to confirm the process. You’ll have to enter your passcode, if any, to proceed. Note that resetting network settings also wipes out your saved Wi-Fi passwords, meaning you’ll have to re-enter them later.

    Hi,
    In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
    Select the Library that appears when you do this.
    Navigate to Containers/com.apple.soagent/Data/Library/Preferences
    You will notice that many of the items are Aliases (to the Originals in ~/Library/Preferences).
    But there are exceptions.
    Delete (Drag to Trash)  the com.apple.soagent.plist and com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist
    Restart the Mac (I have not worked out is SOAgent launches when the Mac does).
    Restart Messages.
    If this does not work navigate to ~/Library/Preferences
    In here find and Delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
    This will need a Restart of the app.
    You will be asked Again for your Apple ID

    In the Users & Groups preference pane when I'm logged in as Admin I can select any of the other accounts that are not Admin and change their login password. Make sure that the padlock icon at the lower left is unlocked.

    Hi, Kilted, I shall put it as below:
    Cancelled a contract on my Iphone and started another contract with  Samsung Note 2 on O2.  Managed to transfer almost all my data bar the content of my notes through drag and drop from itune to sKies prior to contract cancellation.
    When I later connected the iphone to the laptop to carry out an advise of going into itune to drag and drop the note content into dropbox from where I could pull into the samsung device, I was denied access into itune with my id , the same which has facilitated my access to this chat community.
    Question then: Am I not able to use itune again because of the contract cancellation?

    Solved my own problem. My iMac was waiting for acceptance of iCloud Terms & Conditions.

    This is my last resort I've been through iTunes support and they referred me to this forum. For 2 weeks I've been unable to sign into iTunes. I cant do this on my MacBookPro (OSX 10.5.8) or my iPhone. It just hangs and then I get the error: 'We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection failed. There was an error in the iTunes Store, Please try again later'
    I've re installed iTunes, had my password reset and have called my ISP and found out that there is nothing wrong with my network connection. I'm having no other problems with connecting to sites, sending emails etc, only with iTunes. And prior to two weeks ago I had no problem signing in. Please if anyone has any suggestions it would be great as apple seems to have given up on me.
