I am unable to turn on locational services

Help - I can't turn locational services on - at one point I brought the phone to the store and they restored factory settings and it turned on - but as soon as I synced to Itunes it didn't work again??

Check your Restrictions.
Settings > General > Restrictions > under PRIVACY > Location Services.
Note: You need to enable Restrictions to make changes.

  • I am unable to turn on location services after the iOS7 update on my iPhone 5

Relatively self explanatory. When I go into Privacy settings I am unable to turn Location Servies on. The option appears, but I cannot slide the switch to 'on'. This has only happened after the ios7 update.

    Hi dombew,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
To address this issue, I would suggest restarting and/or resetting the iPhone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that does not resolve the issue, refer to page 146 in the iPhone User Guide to Reset All Settings:
iPhone User Guide for iOS 7
    manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Also, check to make sure Location Services has not be restricted:
    iOS: Understanding Restrictions (parental controls)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213?viewlocale=en_US
You can prevent changes to privacy settings, including:
    Location Services

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Is there a way to turn on location services with iCloud

    Basically that.

This doesn't make sense. ...juat sayin'
Location services are a part of your iOS device (or Mac). You don't "turn on" location services with iCloud. You can visit http://www.icloud.com and use Find My iPhone to see the location of the device if you want (assuming you have enabled this from the iPhone first).

  • Will an iPhone automatically turn off location services.  If it goes below a certain battery power level, and so how you disable this in settings.

I am working with Georgia DOT and we have created an app to track our state vehicles using IPhone 5. My question is: will an iPhone automatically turn off location services?  If it goes below a certain battery power level, and if so how do you disable this in settings.

I don't believe that this will happen, however, the entire iPhone will shut down when the iPhone reaches the auto-shutdown power level. There is no way to turn that Off other that connecting the iPhone to power.

  • How do I turn off location services on the iPhone 6?

How do I turn off location services on the iPhone 6?
Yes I already went to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, is not allowing me to turn it off.
And yes I have disable the restrictions too.

When I tapped the screen, there was a symbol on the left that looked like arrows going in a circle and on the right were the arrows crossed. The crossed arrows were orange, when I tapped this orange symbol, it turned to white and the songs STOPPED shuffle.

  • I have upgraded my iPhone 5 with iOS 7 and I can´t turn on location services. I have already twice restored the instalation of iOS 7 but no change. This should be the improvement of the apple software? Has anybody similar problem?

I have upgraded my iPhone 5 with iOS7 and I can´t turn on location services. I have already restored the instalation of oOS 7 twice but no change. This should be the improvement of apple software? Does anybody have similar problem? Do you know how to solve it?

A workaround is to reinstall lazy apps, mostly for those that were restored but don't appear on notification center, eg. Whatsapp. In my case I have more than 500 apps installed.
We need a correct solution for this problem.
I also had this problem on the past moving from 4s to 5.
And now from 5 to 5s.
The only notifications working after restore in my iPhone are those from Facebook.

  • Can not turn on location services

The "Location Services" on my iPhone 5 is greyed out and will not allow me to turn it on?
    Whats up?
    I just installed IOS 7,
Find my iPhone is selected, on my phone, my iMac and the iCloud. They all have the same message, "Online, Location Services off"
    Any ideas?

I had the same issue with ony of the three iPhones I updated on Wednesday.  There are many processes that are working for people including:
    - Resetting the device several times
    - Toggling the "Dont' Allow Changes" setting under "Restrictions --> Location Services"
    - Disabling Restrictions altogether.
    - Restoring from backup
I was able to restore location services by selecting reset and choosing "Erase All Content and Settings" to set the phone up as new.  When the phone resets, I was given the option to turn on location services.  I then restored from backup and was good to go.
Some people have been able to resolve the issue by just using "Reset All Settings" without having to erase all content, but that did not work for me.  It took a while to get everything back to normal, but it is good to know that there was a somewhat simple solution.

  • How do you turn on location services for the Photos app?

I reset my location services and I need to reactivate the location services for those apps I want to use this function.  I have turned on location services for all other apps, including CAMERA, but I cannot figure out how to turn it back on for PHOTOS (Camera Roll).  This option did appear when I did the new iPhone5 setup, but I cannot get it back.  And PHOTOS is not listed in the apps shown under the Location Services setting page.  I set my wife's phone up too and the PHOTOS app is showing on her phones Location Services setting page.  Help please.

    Hi There
I had the same problem and actually I found out that in Location Services you need to Turn On the option for CAMERA, as there is no photos icon.
    Cheers

  • After turning off Location Services, Safari keeps saying to turn back on

I turn off "Location Services" often to save battery power, and at night I often turn on "Airplane Mode", (which I must say is most convenient to turn all radios, (GPS, Bluetooth, Phone, Wifi, Push), at once. However, Safari continues to often send a pop up saying, "turn on location services to allow "safari" to determine your location". Not only is this pop up annoying, but I often listen to several of the rainmaker apps as I fall asleep and this notification continously shuts down my rainmaker app. I have tried to find a way to stop Safari from doing this but am getting no where. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to stop Safari from sending repeated prompts? This has always happened but is happening more so since using Google Latitude, which I do have completely turned off and signed out of. Thanks

Cannot see why Safari is bugging you. 1) it is closed thus shouldn't be needing anything since apps don't run in the background. 2) Safari shouldn't ask for your location (unless specific page is asking).
I'd say reboot as it sounds like something is stuck in memory.
    A reset/reboot is:
    Go to Home Screen
    Press and Hold Home Button
Keep holding and press and hold Lock Button
    Keep holding Both
You will see Slide to Turn Off (Don't let go to slide, just keep holding)
The phone will turn off (in time, but screen will look like it has some white lines)
    Keep Holding
When you see the Apple Logo, you can let go.
