I am unable to uninstall 3.0.10 using add/remove nor uninstall. It is taking 31Gb of my hard drive.

Everytime I click "remove" from control panel Mozilla Firefox 3.0.10,it flashes and nothing happens. Tried the Firefox helper.exe in the uninstall folder and it only flashes. Still taking up 31Gb of my hard drive.

It is unlikely to be using 31Gb, sometimes the about of disk space reported by the Windows control panel's add/remove programs dialog is very inaccurate. The Firefox 3 program takes up about 25Mb
You can manually remove Firefox by deleting its files and folders as shown here - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox

  • Cannot uninstall foxfire using add remove

i cannot uninstall mozilla foxfire by going to control panel in windows xp and removing foxfire

One option is just to download the file with the new version from Apple's website through your browser, open up that file, and let it fix the error on its own as it is installing the new version over your old verison.

  • How do you uninstall Citrix program? or delete from hard drive?

I use a  Citrix plug in program with Safari to log into a VPN Hospital network.  I downloaded an older plug-in that apparently is not supported in Mountain Lion. I moved it to the trash and emptied the trash. I then tried to reinstall the plug-in and my computer said it was already installed AND that the plugin only works with OS X ? Is this a glitch? Just want to clean up my hard drive.
PS the older plugin works with OS 10.7.4?  Should I dare go backwards with my OS to gain Acess to the VPN of the hospital network? Or just wait?

If you still have the installer file and it comes in a .pkg or .mpkg format that's run by the Installer app, you can use the shareware Pacifist utility. It will let you dissect the installer file so you can determine where each little bit of code or data ended up and be able to wipe them all out.

i tried to uninstall photoshop cs under the add or remove program.. but i got this error 5001. It states:

    - Close any running programs
    - Empty your temporary folder
    - Check your Internet connection (Internet-bases Setups)
Then try to run Setup again.

how do i solve this T.T?

I believe it is actually a better idea to run the original installer disk and select uninstall than to use add/remove, but at this point the clean-up script may be the only option.

  • Unable to Uninstall or upgrade to Itunes 7.7

    Hello,
I am running Itunes 7.3 and my music used to be stored in an external hard drive. That hard drive crashed, and it appears that when I try to uninstall Itunes and reinstall I am getting this error:
"The folder path "WD Sync Data" Contains an invalid character"
This was the folder that I USED to keep my music in, but have since changed it in preferences to a different folder on my hard drive. I'm not sure where this path is located, I cannot seem to find it.

"The folder path "WD Sync Data" Contains an invalid character"
The registry may still contain entries that are pointing at the drive letter of the now-nonexistent External drive.
The following technique may be worth a try.
First, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. If it goes, good. If it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to iTunes.
Next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
Next, we'll manually remove any leftover iTunes or QuickTime program files:
    (1) Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    (2) Open the Program Files folder.
    (3) Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    (4) Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. (Note: This folder may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (5) Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue. (Note: These files may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (6) Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    (7) Restart your computer.
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly now?

  • Finished correcting 40,000 song tags on my hard drive. uninstalled iTunes. reinstallediTunes. iTunes put every label back as it was before on iTunes as well as my hard drive. I'm ******. What did I do wrong?

Yeah! I spent 2 weeks cleaning up 40,000+ songs id3 Tags on my external hard drive. I removed duplicates, mis-labeled, mis-numbered songs. I uninstalled iTunes COMPLETELY.  I re-installed iTunes and reloaded my music.
iTunes loaded my music with every error I had removed and every error was magically back on my hard drive. Needless to say I'M REALLY ******.
So what rookie mistake did I make here.
Do I need to correct all these mistakes through iTunes rather than directly to the file on my hard drive?
How do I make it so that if I transfer my hard drive to another computer with iTunes I dont have to do it all again???

Uninstalling & reinstalling iTunes should leave your iTunes database unchanged. If your media files are properly tagged then they should remain so if imported into a "fresh" library, though they lose information that is only stored in the library database such as playlist membership, ratings, play counts, checked status etc.
.wav files don't carry a tag. If organized in sensible Artist & Album folders I have a script called TagFromFilename that will extract meaning from the file path, but that only works if you disable iTunes reorganizing options before you import, otherwise these are likely to end up in a heap in Unknown Artist\Unknown Album. If you have an older database file that you can restore it may be possible to locate these files with a script called FindTracks then have iTunes rearrange the paths again.
If you deduped from iTunes, but didn't clear the underlying files from the folders then reimporting the media folder would have imported the dupes.
In certain cases mp3 files can have multiple tags, only one of which iTunes updates, In some cases on reimport it may read the other unedited data.
Ideally you would backup the entire library routinely and especially before undertaking any radical change in case something goes wrong.

  • How to uninstall NI drivers that are not removable via "Add/Remove Programs"?

    Hi,
I am trying to uninstall older versions of NI MAX and DAQ drivers via "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panels on a Win2000 test PC, but nothing happen when the "Remove" button is pressed. The same issue does not happen with any other drivers or applications installed on the same test PC. These two drivers might have been installed improperly before. Please advise how I can uninstall them without using "Add/Remove Programs"? Thank you very much for your help.
    Valen

    Hello LA,
The window that I have is different from the one you posted. Please see attached for mine. When I clicked on REMOVE, a message popped up and disappeared within a couple seconds. And the message is as following: "The installer is verifying the installation, please do not reboot while this dialog is being display." This same message popped up every time REMOVE is clicked but I have no luck on removing MAX.
This test PC is for legacy testing and it was with Windows 98 and have an ISA DAQ card installed that requires DAQ driver 6.9.3. Can upgrading the test PC to Windows 2000 corrupt the installation?
Looking forward for your advice. Thank you.

  • Cannot uninstall reader 8.1.4 with add/remove or manually

I cannot uninstall using add/remove or with the manual instructions in KB400769. Add/remove gives me a 1402 error and the key has "unknown" in it. KB400769 fails when removing registered files acdoiehelper.dll, acropdf.dll, and pdfshell.dll with "access denied".  Windows install clean up doesn't seem to have any effect except to remove it from the add/remove list. Updates to 8.1.4 don't work (1402 again) nor does trying to download 9 (1402). How in the world do I get rid of it so I can install later versions of reader?

Have you looked in the registry to see if there are still entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Java?
You should erase all files in the various JavaHome directories that are listed in the registry. You can also erase the registry entries, but of course, be careful because damaging the registry can kill Windows.
Also, java.exe and javaw.exe are frequently stored in the "Windows" system directory. You should delete these files as well.

  • Unable to uninstall sql server 2012 from Windows 7(ultimate) 64-bit SP1 version.

I am trying to install sql sever 2012 on my m/c but it's giving me error after partial installation.
Now I have successfully installed Sql Server 2008 R2 on my machine but when I am trying to uninstall 2012 sql server from my machine its giving an error regarding unsupported OS. However as mentioned earlier I have Windows 2007 Ultimate SP1 (64-bit) installed
on my machine which is included in valid platform for sql server 2012. Also I installed visual studio 2013 on my machine but it existed with error SqlServer\LocalDB not installed.

    Hi pritamk,
According to your error message, as other post, you can uninstall SQL Server from command line, inaddition, another workaround is that change the compatibility mode of setup.exe to Vista SP2, then run “Remove” option from the control panel. You can refer
    to the following steps.
Browse to your SQL setup bootstrap folder, For SQL Server 2012, this is the path "C:\Program Files \Microsoft SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\SQLServer2012\".
Go to Setup.exe file and right click on Setup.exe. Then go to properties and click on "Compatibility" tab. Under "Compatibility mode", click on Run this program in compatibility mode for "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)". Then Click on "Apply" then "OK".
After that go to control panel -> Programs and Features -> and remove SQL Server 2012
There is similar issue about uninstalling SQL Server 2012 RC0 from control panel. You can review the following post.

The author of the package you are installing did not include support for this platform.

    Hi,
you can try below work around, i recommend not to perform this directly on production, try this in dev machine first.
force uninstaller to use 32-bit jre:
    1. copy jre to the system
    2. run >"Uninstall.exe" LAX_VM <path_to_jre>

  • Unable to UNINSTALL "hp Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Series" from Windows7 64bit OS on HP-8730w

i am unable to UNINSTALL the "hp Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Series" from Windows7 64bit OS installed on HP Notebook 8730w Mobile Workstation.
If i click the uninstall button using the original printer driver CD, nothing happens; no error messages either.

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • Unable to uninstall Quicktime

I get the following error when I try to access the QuickTime settings in the control panel:
An exception occurred while trying to run "C:\Windows\system32\shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL "C:\Windows\system\QuickTime.cpl", QuickTime"
When I try to open iTunes, it fails and the "Send an error report to Microsoft?" box appears. I am unable to uninstall quicktime and re-download it. Any ideas?
      Windows XP

Currently I am also unable to reinstall Quicktime as well, but here is what I can suggest:
    1) Type "93976" into the support box and find the solution post by Apple and see if that helps.
    2) I reccomend the Mircosoft Uninstaller Utility just as a tool to fix any nonresponsive programs (such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on my computer- would not uninstall). This can be found in the solutions list titled: "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" at the bottom. Use it to uninstall the programs.
    3) Call the Apple support line: 1-800-275-2273 (USA)
and talk with a professional and demand answers (do not accept "Go to an Apple store").
    4) Look at other threads and look for solutions.
As I said at the top, I also cannot reinstall Quicktime, so this might be a program installation error, which hopefully will be fixed soon. Keep me posted if you get any results.

  • Unable to Uninstall Adobe Reader X 10.0.1

This issue error message states "The patch couldn't be opened...Verify the patch package exists and is accessable......Windows installer patch..."

I am also unable to uninstall Acrobat Reader X. I am taking this action because I cannot open any documents with X. I also keep getting this message or something close, cannot take action because there is another document already opened. But there isn't. That happened when I tried to uninstall Acrobat Reader X and go back to a more reliable version. What is going on with X?
