I am unable to update pages application on my preowned computer because the former owner's id and password are associated with it. Is there any way to upgrade the pages app?
Thanks Neil. I guess would have to buy the app to do that. I bought the computer from a neighbor who is now deceased. Pages was already on it. When I try to update from the app store, even though I'm signed in, the update wants the neighbor's password. Any other ideas?

Good morning.
I have iMac (mid 2009) and a month ago I downloaded Mavericks from App Store.
I created a new template and I edited from my iPad. When I came back to continue editing a message on iMac said that I must update pages to newer edition and it can't open the file. When I go to App Store it seems that Pages is updated but the icon (image) is the older (iWork 09).
Other apps are updated like keynote etc.
Any help ?When you update iWork applications, the old iWork version is kept, so it's possible that you are opening the old iWork version instead of the new iWork.
To fix this, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and you should see the iWork apps with the new icon. Just drag them to the Dock and open them, so you have easy access to them.

Unable to Update Any Applications purchased through MAS
Hello.
I am unable to update any of my purchased apps from the Mac App Store. Have used the 10.6.6 combo updater, repaired disk permissions, reset Apple ID password, but am still unable to update. The updates tab is empty, and when I try to click an Update button from the purchases tab, I get a dialog that says:
"You have updates available for other accounts. Sign in to (null) to update applications for that account."
I haven't used any other Apple ID for the MAS.
Console.app is spitting out this error when I try to update:
1/18/11 7:48:26 PM App Store[6985] multibyte IDs are unsupported.I posted a solution in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=13006522&tstart=0 that worked for me. I had Spotlight indexing disabled (Privacy tab > added the root drive). I allowed Spotlight to reindex and now the App Store works as expected.
If anyone wants to take the time and discern what specifically Spotlight needs to index that would be great as I never use it and hate the rude mds and mdworker processes thrashing at the drive.

Otherwise, your phone might be running on a custom firmware made exclusively to your network provider and the update for it might have not been released yet. -
Unable to update pages, Keynote and Numbers
Under my apps updates its asks to update pages, keynotes and numbers. I press update and it will imediatly proceed to this app cannot be updated. For all three apps. It then asks for a product key to 'purchse' it. I alreay purchased the apps when I bought the laptop.
You're describing the behavior of these apps as versions prior to the Mac App Store. MAS versions do not require product keys, serial numbers or passcodes of any kind. Tell us about any previous versions of these apps or trial versions that you have had on this Mac.
If these apps appear in your MAS Purchases list, then the way to solve this is to delete these apps form your Mac, all vestiges and then you should be able to download the most recent versions from your purchases list. -
I've got an imac 27inch, just installed Maverick and updated Pages. Power went out in my house and now, when I open Pages, it flashes a brief recovering screen (do you want to reopen?) then crashes completely. Need help. Thanks.
I have the same problem. I have never had a problem with Firefox before, and use it as my main browser. However recently, after updating to 3.6.8, its been crashing all the time. Up to 20 times an hour. Usually it occurs when I click a link from a Google search, or in Yahoo. Even if I send in a crash report and restart Firefox, it crashes as soon as the same page is brought back up, or the same link is clicked. I have also had it crash when completely idle. Its very frustrating as it is my favorite browser. I've resorted to using Google Chrome for the time being.

I was notified that Pages and one other application have updates. When I tried to login, the Apps page asks me to login to an account I am not familiar with. I imagine that this machine was used by someone else to update or download 2 apps. I would like to delete them and download the latest apps using my account. Can I do this?
You can log in to your own account at any time and access the appliactions you have paid for, just fill in your own Apple ID.

Unable to update Mobile Application in web console

I am just wondering any body experianced the same issue.

Issue : After creating MSD using MEREP_MSD_APPLICATION I am unable to edit the mobile application in web console.
Error Message in Web console :
Data for this entry is not complete or not correct.
This entry therefore cannot be changed or deleted
Can you please update is there any work around to get rid if this problem

MuraliIt's normal. The documentation says it - the automaticaly created application entry is broken. What you have to do is the following:
1) Delete the broken entry
2) Manually create it again, with THE SAME data you have put in the MEREP_MSD_APPLICATION. Whit the creation you upload the complete .WAR file.
Everything should be ok after this procedure.

Unable to update pages 4.3
I'm using pages 4.2, and in the App store it shows there are no updates. However in the App store when I select Pages it shows Install (where you would buy), when I click this it shows:
We could not complete your purchase.
Pages is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updates.
Any advice, as I can't use documents in pages from my iphone on icloud?iWork '09 installed from the retail disk or from the downloaded trial must be updated through Software Update. Those installations will not be recognized as installed by the Mac App Store. In Mountain Lion Software Update has been "rolled into" the Mac App Store. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu just like you always have & the Mac App Store will launch. Depending on what you have that needs updating you may see two sections in the MAS window.
But, as always, if you're not running the latest versions of the iWork apps installed from a retail box or the downloaded trial & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. If you installed from the downloaded trial or the retail box, they must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work. -
Unable to Update CC Application
Regular PC, running Windows 7 Professional. Creative Cloud member since last October so I've done MANY updates......
Yesterday afternoon my laptop wanted me to update some of the Adobe CC applications, so I opened the CC app and IT wanted to install an update. It started downloading then failed with an error 50, and told me to contact customer support.
SO, I went to the desktop and opened the Creative Cloud application. It ALSO wanted to update itself. And did the same thing the laptop did. Said there was a problem and to contact customer support. When I hit RETRY, it hung for a while at 2%, then failed with an error 205.
This morning I called Adobe and the person there took over control of my desktop (an uncomfortable process) and spent an hour checking things. It appears that the CC application won't update, and neither will the Adobe Application Manager. He finally found some information that says I need to go INTO THE WINDOWS FIREWALL and whitelist a bunch of host/port combinations...
WHERE/WHEN did this happen (or perhaps, WTF has Adobe done NOW?)? I've NEVER needed to ANY of this in the past. And how many OTHER normal, non-technical, CC users are having this problem? I saw a couple topics asking about this, but I presume they're enterprise installations, NOT simple home systems... If I DO have to do this, does someone have a basic, idiot-proof process that spells out in human-understandable language the exact process of doing this?

80Continued messing with this since I now HAVE NO cc desktop... So far I've found several topics with lots of notes, and LOTS of majorly pissed off people, but absolutely no actual answer from Adobe. Looked at several other topics that purport to have solved the problem:
1. Reboot system into safe mode with network. Install cc - exactly the same 205 error.
2. Run AdobeCreativeCloudClearnerTool THEN reboot into save mode with network. Install CC - EXACTLY the same 205 error.
3. Turn Windows Firewall COMPLETELY OFF. Install CC - EXACTLY the same 205 error.
4. Follow Jeff Wrights instruction from June 19,2014: "for information on how to resolve Error 205 please see Error downloading Creative Cloud applications - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-downloading-cc-apps.html."
I found "Download 205 When segment validation fails again and again, the file is assumed to be invalid."
I'm NOT on a managed network.
I AM using a wired connection.
I ROUTINELY download files in the hundred+ megabyte range, and frequently in the gigabyte range.
The system hardware hasn't changed since the last umpteen times Adobe CC updated. The system SOFTWARE hasn't changed since the last umpteen times Adobe CC updated.
I looked at the download logs and at the end, after repeatedly stating the the job is in STOPPED_STATE, it gets:

Unable to update iPhone Application with ApplicationLoader
I'm having a problem updating my iPhone application with the applicationLoader. It says it was completed uploading but in the iTunesConnect interface it still says "Waiting for Upload". I've tried uploading about 20 different times now, and attempted to contact Apple support on multiple occasions about this.
Anyone have any tips on how to work around this, or get it to work? I've tried resetting the preferences of ApplicationLoader and it hasn't helped.
