I am unable to upgrade to Mavericks even though I seem to have all the requirements listed by Apple.
When offered the free upgrade in App Store, I am unable to upgrade to Mavericks even though I seem to have all the requirements listed by Apple.
Model: MacBookPro 2,2, Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo, Speed: 2,33 GHz, Processors: 1, Cores: 2, L2 Cache: 4 MB, Memory: 4GB
Bus Speed: 667MHz, Boot Rom Version: MBP22 00A5.B07, SMC Version: 1.12f5.
10.7.5 is the max for your model. Your mac is one model too old to run anything higher.

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, I can't seem to export in the m4v format in imovie. Am I just missing it?
.m4v isn't a "format" and is just a file extension.
In the Mac OS an .m4v file would be opened and played by iTunes instead of QuickTime. That's all the extension is used for and you wan't to use .mp4 or .mov. -
I have all the requirements except8gb of available space. my mac only has 4gb capacity.is there any way to get a smaller version of the mavericks software?
That refers to free disk space, not RAM. If your computer has 4GB of RAM, that's enough. If it only has 4GB of free disk space, you need to delete content from the internal drive; for best results, free up at least 20GB.

I have the 3rd Generation of the Ipod Touch. I want to get the IOS 4.3 upgrade for my Ipod. I have all the requirements for it, but i dont know how to get the update. PLEASE HELP
Are you sure you have 3G iPod? If it is a 8 or 16 GB one it is a 2G iPod. A 32GB could be either. Identify yurs here:

A 2g can only go to 4.2.1.

Hello, Gemma.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend trying the steps in the articles below. If none of the steps work please reply back with any errors received and which computer operating system you are using.

Since I upgraded to Maverick, my Macbook Pro shuts down quite often without warning. No idea why.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo). -
What am I missing?
Check your computer against these requirements:
OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

Do I have to reinstall my printer drivers after upgrading to 10.8? I seem to have lost the ability to communicate with either of 2 wireless printers and to download pictures from my camera. (Photoshop keeps telling me it can't find the device.) Any suggestions?
Have you repaired permissions and restarted your computer after installing ML? Checked your printer settings in System Preferences?
If Software Update does not list any updated drivers for your model printer, you should go to the printer's manufacturer website and download the drivers from there and/or contact their tech support to determine if your printer is compatible w/ML.
Read the various Knowledge Base ML printing articles. Here are a few to get you started:
OS X Mountain Lion: If the software for your printer can’t be found
OS X Mountain Lion: Troubleshoot a USB printer
OS X Mountain Lion: Troubleshoot an AirPort printer
If none of the above work, post back w/the model of your printer and how it's connected to your computer. USB? Wireless? -
Unable to upgrade to Mavericks from OS X 10.6.8
I am unable to upgrade to Mavericks. I have all of the required requirements. Enough RAM and Hardrive space. I am running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. HELP!
That message usually means the computer does not meet the Mavericks requirments. For a MacBook Pro, you must have at least a MacBook Pro3,1 check yours by the apple left side of the menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware and what does it say for Model Identifier?

Since i upgraded to mavericks,my external hard drive lost half of the files ,how can i get them back?
Type move itunes library into the google serach bar.
It has always been very basic to always maintain abackup copy of your computer. Do you not have a backup copy? -
I want to upgrade to Mavericks. Will I need to reinstall all of my apps and copy my files back to the hard drive? I have not installed an OS on a Mac before and I'm wondering whether it is as involved as on a PC.
Short answer: You do NOT have to reinstall all your apps and copy your files back.
Longer answer: Upgrading the OS does not touch any user files. Upgrading the OS should not interfere with any applications which are compatible with Mavericks. In my experience non-Apple apps are generally left unchanged by the upgrade. It is possible that some apps may need to be upgraded. One good resource for checking application compatibility is RoaringApps.
Finally, it is always wise to backup everything, just in case. -
I upgraded to Mavericks and now I get a LOT of the spinning colored disk when loading a program or almost anything?
For memory check out OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/, Crucial: http://www.crucial.com/ and Kingston http://www.kingston.com/us/. You will need to know your Mac the year and season your Mac was first sold and model number which can be found here:

I am unable to transfer my songs from my ipad to my iPhone even though they are both registered to the same apple Id
How are you trying to accomplish this? You can't transfer media directly from one iDevice to another. You should be transferring your purchased items to your iTunes library on the computer you sync them with, then syncing them from there.
You should be able to re-download media from the iTunes store using the same Apple ID used to purchase it to begin with. -
I have been using yahoo mails from iPad for several months. Today I am unable to access my mails even though I logged in to yahoo....the signin screen is keep coming when I tried to access mail.....is it due to iPad or yahoo?
It sounds like you might need to contact Yahoo! if you aren't able to setup your email account as a new account after deleting it.
I found some links on the Yahoo! website that might help:
