I am unable to view movies that are sent via Messages.

I cannot view movies sent to me in messages. I get a screen that looks like this: MOV_6373.MOV.mov QuickTime movie 1.2MB

What device are you trying to watch movies sent through messages on? If it's an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, try double-tapping the screen when it comes up with the movie name. If that doesn't work, try restarting your iPhone/iPod/iPad and turning off Wi-Fi or cellular data, depending on which one you're using, then turn it back on. Closing and reopening the messages app, or even all your apps, could help also. Keep in mind also that older iPhone models, like 3Gs, may not play movies sent through messages. If you're using a laptop and the messages app, I'd try the same things you would with an iPhone, but clicking instead of tapping of course. Those are the best suggestions I have, hope they help.

Possibly as they're not compatible (if purchased from iTunes store they should be, though some podcasts are too complex/hi-res).

Basically you need h264 encoded at <5MBps with AAC audio at 720p 24fps or less (30fps will work at 960x540 or below).
Check the movies in the movie section of iTunes to ensure they're not unticked which will prevent them from syncing/streaming.
Also if AppleTv might be full and you're syncing ensure AppleTV summary tab in iTunes does not have 'Show only synced items' selected.

Having read how one might be able to send a video that is too large, it seems that those videos and still pictures that are sent, well at least for me anyway, end up 90 degrees to the horizontal...how do i send a pic, or video that is the right way up???.

When I then tried to copy my work done in FCP Project that's originally DV PAL , into a new FCP Project that is HD, and tried reconnect media with original HD movies (video), the sequence project got distorted for all the text, shapes used and all.. everything changed its orientation and scale.. Is there a way by which I can preserve my work done on DV PAL and switch it preserving its proportions, scale and orientation, but on a HD project sequence?? Appreciate your help and advice..

Yes. A couple of ways that might work.
First Way
What you need to do is load one of your hd clips in the viewer and edit into a new HD sequence. Does it display correctionly?
OK, select the clip in the hd timeline and copy (command-c). Now go to the HD sequence with the material that's distorted. Select all (command-a) and paste attributes (option-v) and choose basic motion and distort. That should maek things work. What won't work is anything that you've adjusted as far as basic motion or distort in your PAL sequence. That I'm pretty sure you'll have to redo.
Second Way.
Choose your original PAL sequence and do a Media Manage changing the sequence preset to the appropriate HD paramenters with the media offline. You then should be able to reconnect these clips with your original HD media.

I used to be able to view all cloud and downloaded content. I no longer can.

There used to be option to show items that are in the cloud in your library, but I can't find where that now is (unless it's been removed). You should be able to see what items that you can re-download via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (at the top right of that there should be a 'not on this computer' button)

       An item has an expiry date of 12-APR-2015 23:59:59.But it got expired, from 12-APR-2015 00:00:00 the lot shows an (Available To Reserve) ATR as 0 on the Onhand Availability , although the onhand quantity and Available To Transact (ATT) show the quantity.As per expiration date expiration of lots should starts from the date stamped on it and the timestamp doesn't really play a role.
Seen the note: Unable To Reserve Lots that are Expiring Later on the Current Date through Auto Detailing get Error of Could not Query Reservations (Doc ID 1193423.1).
    But the solution provided is confusing, as in a R12.1.3 inventory implemented environment we cannot find the options to set picking rules with Lot --> Exp Date >= Expression --> Trunc(sysdate).It would be great if any body can let me know the solution.

InContext Editing does no longer support HTTP authentication method, as the release notes state. As a result, users will not be able to edit sites, folder or pages that are password protected.
Currently we do not have a workaround for this issue and we recommend removing the password protection. The issue has been added on our feature list but we do not have a proposed timeframe to fix it.

I have a similar problem. The default answer on the web is to open Videos on your iPad, then touch and hold the movie you wish to delete, then tap the little cross that appears. Alternatively, you can connect to iTunes, select your device in the list, scroll down to the Rentals summary and delete from there.
I have a problem with both of these solutions! The Video App on my iPad does not contain any video icons, just an option to browse my shared library, so I can't delete it from there... ANd in iTunes, the movie in the Rntals tab on my device summary is greyed out, so I can't do anything from there either. But the movie is taking up 2.5 Gb....
Can someone please offer an alternative to resetting the device entirely?!

I know of no way to "tell" the Apple TV to look for anything. It is pre-programmed to look for iTunes, iPhoto, etc.

Hey, I've got some localhost CF9 stuff running on my mac that are rerouted via virtual host and etc/host file to be like local.myprojectname.dev and I'm trying to set things up in VMWare Fusion PC so I can view in a browser. I've gotten as far as being able to add an IP to the PCs host file, and then pull up the root directory of the localhost but can't seem to figure out how to get the virtual host domain to work. This make any sense?

You will need to configure Host header support in your web server software. Both IIS and Apache support Host headers, but they're configured differently of course.
Then, if you want those Host headers to route on your Mac host OS, you'll need to map them in /etc/hosts to your VM's IP address.

It's not quite that. It is saying it's an MOV file which, although it is read by iTunes on the Mac, cannot be played by the iPhone. It's slightly confusing as I downloaded it off the iTunes store. Do you think this can be remedied? Or refunded?
