I am unabUnable to Type in Font Size - Photoshop CC 2014 (Mac)

I an unable to work out why I am unable to type in a font size. I have an existing Text Layer. I double click the layer to activate the Text Edit mode, which highlights the text. I then highlight the font size in the tool bar. First, I am unable to delete said font size value. Then, when I try to type over said font sive, the numbers appear in the text layer. If I have the text still highlighted, the numerical input replaces said text. If it is not highlighted, the numbers are inserted. I then try and delete said text just entered, which I cannot. All the while the Font Size text box is highlighted and active, although the highlight appears Grey.
I am missing something surely.

  • Problem with Image - Image Size (Photoshop CC 2014 Mac.) I get a small square shape in place of a curser

I tried resizing an image.  I click on Image then Image Size and no dialog box to change the size comes up.  Instead when I move the cursor over the image a small square replaces the cursor.  All the choices in the "Image" drop down turn light gray.  If I hit "Escape" Everything looks normal.   Problem went away when I uninstalled Photoshop and reinstalled it, but it came back.

    Two ideas:
Open Image > Image Size and hold down the Option key. The Cancel button will change to Reset. Click on it.
    That may work.
    If not,
Try a Preferences reset from the keyboard.
    Close Photoshop
Press and hold down Cmd-Opt-Shift   Start Photoshop. Look for  delete settings dialog and click on "Yes"
Then after Photoshop loads, try the Image Size again.

  • Selection properties panel -  edit font type and font size

"selection properties" bottom panel -  edit font type and font size
    In design view
i can no longer find this option in CS5,
how can i change font type and font size of highlighted/selected block of text? like previous DW versions ?
by switching to CSS from html in "selection properties" bottom panel.
i see an option to do that using CSS. Is this the only option now ?
    Thanks a lot for help.

What happened if on some pages of my site, there are JS code inserted to display content pulled from other remote host.
Will my own page or site CSS font setting override the JS code font & size setting as well ?
or those JS code can display content using their font selection setting independently ?
    >> Yes. In fact it not only does it for the page you're working on, but for the whole site (that's the advantage of CSS vs properties)

  • Font Size with LV 2014

I'm still puzzled by why LV has a default 15pt font on some newer installs and newer OS's.  I don't know what exactly the condition for this is.  Is it the LabVIEW version, the OS version, some graphical setting within the OS?
I had pretty much resigned myself to the reality that new installations of LabVIEW on W7 or W8 would have 15pt font by default.  However, I've recently installed LV 2014 on my W7 machine.  When I open a new VI, it says the default font is 13pt!  If I go into the Tools/Options, under "Environment", it says that I am using the default fonts.  When I open the LabVIEW.ini file in a text editor, I don't see any keys related to font size.  So how come this installation of LV thinks that LV 2014 on W7 should use 13pt fonts?
I would have assumed that I would like this situation, since I've got a lot of code that was developed on XP using 13 pt fonts, so I generally reconfigure LV for 13pt fonts as soon as I install it.  But now I'm working with someone else on a set of code, and her machine (W7) installed LV 2014 with a 15 pt font default!  So now when we move code between us, it gets all mucked up.
        Can anyone clarify this?

Thanks for the additional info.  This is consistent with my understanding of the situation.  Though my understanding of the situtation does have some gaps...  Which is why I'm here in the forum.
        Howevver, two issues remain:
    1) Why is LV 2014 on my W7 machine showing application font size 13, but on my colleague's it shows size 15?  Up until this install of LV 2014, I had seen size 15 as the default on all W7 and later OS's.  Your reply, and others, imply that all W7 installs should use size 15.  But on my machine, LV 2014, it shows 13, and the options still show that I'm using LabVIEW's defaults.  E.g. is there some OS setting, such that even on W7, it is possible that LV will decide to use 13?
    2) I half like your suggestion that we just define a specifi font, like Tahoma 13.  I'm not sure how that will translate to the customer's machine, though.  If they open a VI we created, I assume they'll see Tahoma 13 fonts on the front panel items.  But if they edit those VI's, will their LV setting prevail, such that they get 15 point font on new controls, or will our settings continue to be applied to VI's that we created and which they edit?  (Granted, I can figure out this second question with a little more testing, which I'll try to do soon...)
    Thanks again,

  • How do I change the Attribution font size for Outlook for Mac

    Outlook For Mac assistance.
I have gone into the settings menu and properly set up my font and style for correspondence (Preferences-Fonts), the issue I have is that when I reply or forward a message, the Attribution (To, From, Subject,
Date) etc... from the sender defaults to a much larger 24 size/ Verdana.  I can manually highlight and then change this to match my settings of a 16 - Calibri but this is a hassle.  I have tried to alter this via the Preferences for E-mail (Composing)
and  while option three gives a Name, Date, Address option (sans the Subject) Attribution, the second desired standard option does not include font or style changes.  This is of course the HTML option which is preferable to me.
How can I set the default of option two to match my other font and/or style preferences?

  • Do the plugins with file type .8bf work in Photoshop CS5 under Mac OS (any version)?

I saw an article saying so:
    http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/8bf
but when I placed one in my plugins folder and restarted PS, it does not show up.

The file extension doesn't matter much.
But only plugins written for MacOS will work on MacOS.
And only plugins written for Windows will work on Windows.

  • Increasing font size in Itunes 8

OK, I know Itunes doesn't really allow you to increase font size over the "Large" setting. However, Robert Jacobson previously posted how to edit the ituneslocalized, qtr file in Itunes7 to change the default "large" font to 32pt.
The font size for the "large" font in iTunes 7 is stored at offset 0x5358D, and for iTunes 6 at 0x446BE in the file
    \Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\en.lproj\iTunesLocalized.qtr
By default the "large" size is 0xA (10 pt), but you can change it so say, 0x24 (36 pt) to make it very large.
Anyone know how to do this in Itunes8?

The offset for iTunes 8.0 is
    0x7D91C
    For iTunes 8.0.1 it is
    0x7DE38
Hex editing isn't that hard! Trust me, you can do this without me writing a script for it.
    Download XVI32 (it's free):
    http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm
Unzip the file to a folder and run xvi32.exe.
First, quit iTunes if it is running.
    Then, *make a backup* of <pre>C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\en.lproj\iTunesLocalized.qtr</pre>
Open the above file in xvi.
From the "Address" menu, select "Goto". Click the radio button "hexadecimal", then put $7D91C (or $7DE38 for iTunes 8.0.1) and click OK.
The cursor should end up on "0A".
From the "Tools" menu, select "Encode Number". In the "Number" box, type the font size you want (the default "large" size for iTunes for Windows is 10.). Select the "byte (1 byte)" radio button. On the right, select "Overwrite at current address". Then click OK.
Save the file and close XVI32.
    Wasn't that easy?
Now, if you open iTunes and select the "Large" font for the List Text, it should be the size you specified.

  • FINDER - Sidebar Font Size

    FINDER - Sidebar Font Size
I'm using Mac OS X v10.5.8 & have been trying to find a way to I increase the font size in the sidebar of FINDER.
Has this actually been fixed or is there a 3rd party app that will allow me to do this much like in mail! but for FINDER!
I've noticed this has been asked many times but never officially answered.
    thank you in Advance.

While those font sizes appear to be fixed, and perhaps there is a way to get into
the system via Terminal or some other super-user access, an easy utility to do so
does not appear to be readily available. If one is available, this feature is under
advertised or a sub-note hidden within.
I'd just been looking into 'Path Finder' by Cocatech, I did not see a reference to
this Sidebar Font size issue; yet did read into their Forums page to note a post
there asking about this situation. Since Path Finder is a retail product and adds
a new user Finder with extra capabilities (30 day demo) license is about $40.
No mention about their adding this; however many other controls are added.
    (A Leopard 10.5 & Snow Leopard 10.6 version, plus older v. Tiger 10.4 appear.)
While their screen casts of features were a bit interesting to watch (in QT .mov)
http://cocoatech.com/screencasts - the specific ability to resize Finder sidebar is
not mentioned; although their custom Path Finder application has more controls.
Note they say their app can 'replace Finder' - so maybe they will offer their own fix.
So, this probably isn't a direct answer to the pending question or a fix.
Since I haven't had much time or access to Snow Leopard, I've no idea
if the newer system version has a control to adjust Finder's Sidebar Font.
    I rarely use the Finder window within the desktop 'finder' and have avoided it;
that isn't something I'd found useful, though something similar has existed in
many Mac OS systems in some form, guise, or other applicable function.
In fact the wider busy finder/folder windows are more distracting than ever
starting in Leopard 10.5; so, that's more wasted screen space to try to ignore.
{Sure, I can say that while realizing the other kinds of access this may provide
    the seasoned user who is already used to tiny words & extra feature functions.}
Not sure if tweaks in tools such as Titanium Software - OnyX may offer any
type of interface customization in this area. This can change a few things,
I've used this application since it was first available, in earlier v. OS X 10.x
while not being all that interested in making a mess of what has worked well.
Perhaps someone with command line or Terminal experience has already
blazed a trail into this jungle, and left some great bread crumbs to follow.
Maybe a nice Script has come from surveying & marking the path...?

  • How to change font size for SMS at PC suite

    Hello,
I would like to read and write SMS at the PC and receive and send them via PC suite. It works.
But how can I change the font type and font size of an SMS within the PC suite.
I have problems to recognize Arab characters in SMS because the characters are so small and the font type is squiggly.
    Thanks

If there are really only a few sites that you have problems with, just go to the site, and click the Command key along with the plus key.    This will temporarily increase the size of the type.
Command and the minus(-)  key makes type smaller.  These commands will work on a per site basis.

  • Use Windows Display Setting to enlarge the font size

    Hi,
I'm using JDK1.4.1 on Windows2000. I wrote a Swing app that used native Windows LookAndFeel.
I'm wondering if I can use the Windows Control Panel->Display->Settings to adjust the font type and size for the Swing app. I tried it but failed.
So are the font type and font size in Java App adjustable only through programing APIs?
    thanks,
    Richard

So are the font type and font size in Java App adjustable only through programing APIs?Yes. WindowsLookAndFeel doesn't see any Windows native font settings.
But I think there's a way to do so (Although I have no experience about
    that). Here's some hints...
Get the font settings from Windows by using JNI, and set these fonts
    to UIManager like this.
    UIManager.getDefaults().put("Button.font", new Font("Dialog", 0, 20));
(Try this code and you will see the Button-font changes).

  • Automatic font size/type change after sending - why and how do I fix it?

This only seems to happen when I copy text from a web page and paste it into a compsosing email within Mail but it does not display on screen as anything different until the email is sent.
Here is an excerted screenshot from an email that was sent. When I composed it there appeared to be normality but after sending it changed.
A little more background on when this seems to happen. My french is not good. I use dictionary.com to translate text then copy and paste it to the email. I am not sure if this is the only circumstance of when this debacle happens but it seems to be constant when I follow the previous steps. Note: If I am not troubleshooting when it happens and I highlight all text (even though it looks normal) before sending then manually change the font size or font type and revert back to the size type then it does not always happen but still will periodically.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Is it a known bug or virus?

    This is not a virus.
It's important to keep in mind that Mail sends HTML e-mail, when the text needs to be "styled" in any way, rather than just plain text, and not all mail clients will display that in the same way (or even at all). Also, Mail doesn't really have much in the way of editing capabilities for HTML e-mail.
Fortunately, from what you describe, there's a solution... if text you are copying from somewhere and pasting into Mail has strange formatting, try command-option-shift-v, or Edit -> Paste and Match Style, to paste the text. This discards all the style information attached to the copied text, and pastes just the text itself, making the text match the style of whatever you're pasting it into.

  • Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages?  I just want to type a letter and add pictures and titles, and Pages keeps changing font sizes and doesn't let me "Do it my way".  I HATE this!

Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages?  I'm using a blank document, so I figured I could write my letter and add pictures any way I wanted to.  But NO!  Pages keeps changing the font size!  I typed a large heading as a title, and when I try to change to a smaller font for the body of the letter, it changes the size back to the larger size!  I am getting SO FRUSTRATED!  I've spent over an hour trying to get the stupid program to let me just type my letter!  Can anyone help?

The only one left is the "unsubmitted text" dialogue, which would not be a problem if I were not a Facebook user; after updating the "Richard is..." field (which does not require a manual submit to actually send) I get the above message. This is obviously Safari just not realising that the info has been sent and is therefore (I imagine) one for Apple themselves to answer!!
You're welcome Rich. Glad to help.
Not being a Facebook User, I'm not sure how to respond to the error situation. However, this would be something to report to Apple as a bug via the Safari Menu. First, open to the page in question, then select "Report Bugs to Apple".

  • Only my email font size has changed....it's gone smaller while everything else including ads is normal size. How do I change it back to 12 pt type?

twice in the past few weeks the font size on my email has changed smaller. The first time it went from 12 pt type to maybe 10 pt type. Last night while I was chatting on Yahoo with our daughter, it went down to maybe 2 pt type. I couldn't find a way to change it back. This morning I opened up the computer to try to work on it again and the font size was maybe 1/2 pt type. The words look like little squiggles on the page. Both my email addresses on Yahoo have reacted the same but the ads to the right of the email on the mail page remain the same size. If I open up another window, and say go to foodtv.com, everything is normal size. I have opened up Safari and gone to my email and everything is normal szie so the problem is the Mozilla. I have also called ATT and gotten help and they couldn't help as it's definitely a Mozilla problem.

  • Can we change font size and font type in reports

    Hi All Technical/Functional Masters,
We are developing some transactional reports in ISU. this report has 20 columns to be printed. On screen, display is not a problem but client has a requirement to download this report in PDF format and wants to print on A4-paper in Landscape. Although we have managed to accommodate all the columns on A4 paper but have to compromise with font size that are very small and not visible. If we download the report in excel format we are able to maintain the font size 8 and accommodate all columns after little format but same in PDF is a problem.
Can anyone tell whether we can increase the font size and change font type(from SAP standard to 'Arial') before sending the output in PDF ? Is there any property or utility that can be changed or used for this purpose.

  • In CS5, the font size in the type tool isn't working correctly. example: 30 point looks like 4 point

In CS 5, the font size in the type tool isn't working correctly.
Example: 30 point looks like 4 point
    How can I correct it?

In case you have not fixed this, take a look at your Image Size (Ctrl Alt i).  The default when you make a new document window is 72ppi which can result in smaller text than you sometimes expect.  If you open Image size, turn off resample, and change the resolution to something like 300, you'll get much larger type for the same settings.
For this reason one of the first things I do after installing Photoshop, or resetting Preferences, is to open Preferences > Units & rulers, and set Type to mm.  This way I know that if the document is set to A4, and orientated in landscape (297mm x 210mm) setting text to 21mm is going to result in type exactly one tenth the height of the document.
I believe people in America still use inches, but unfortunately inches are not an option for Type units in Preferences.  It is easy enough to work it out in your head though. A 10x8 document with type set to 25mm will give you text one eighth the height of the document.
The bottom line is you can at least predict what is going to happen when setting text size.
