I am using a MacBook and want to back up my data onto an external device. Does anyone know which I should use?
Can someone please suggest a backup storage unit that would go well with a MacBook?
Pretty much an well-known USB or Firewire external drive. If you want bootable clones, Western Digital hard-drives are known to have occasional problems.

Now i want to burn it to a dvd using a flashdrive and burning it on another PC that has a burner. Does anyone know how i can do this? My macbook air HAS IDVD....

I am considering an IPhone5 which I want to "tether" to my laptop and Ipad. Does anyone know which network works best. TMobile tell me that they will only tether upto 1GB of data, will this be sufficient?
I have the AT&T family plan for use with my laptop, iPhone an iPad with 6GB per month. I tend to use the tethering far more often with the MacBook Pro than the iPad (mine has cellular) and I don't think I've had any month where 1 GB would have been sufficient for tethering. Do they have a plan where they will let you pay for additional tethering? If so I would go to at last 2 GB.

Hi guys, I recently got a new MacBook Pro with a USB Superdrive. A disc won't eject, does anyone know of a way to eject it? I'm in Morocco for the next 10 days so going to an Apple store is not possible. Any help would be gratefully received, thanks
Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
left mouse button until the disc ejects.
2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
/usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes. -

Yes - select the book and duplicate it (Command - D) in case of problems - open it and click change theme and select the theme and the new style of binding

I have an IPAD 2 that I purchased two years ago. I would like to get a more current version of the IOS so that I can download games, etc. The instructions say to go to General and select Software Download. I do not have that option listed in my General area. Does anyone know how I should go about getting the more current IOS? Also, will the download hurt my IPAD. No. The Download is the operating system. It won't damage it because its released by Apple and signed to work on it.
It will update the Operating system to the newer version.

when i'm editing my video in the timeline it looks perfect, but when i save the video and replay it on quicktime it has these weird lines? does anyone know how to fix that?
As Tom states, that's interlacing.
Interlacing was invented when the TV was born, to carry 1/5 the frame with each Hz of the electricity rating. In the US, that's why you use 30 fps (or 29.nnn) in the US and we use 25 fps in europe as the electricity is 60Hz/50Hz.
Interlaced video should ONLY (I repeat ONLY) be used for analog TV signal transports.
Each and every digital TV set today, including all the computer screens, is Progressive, updating the full frame at each screen refresh. And most TV's even refresh much quicker, newest TV's refresh a 800Hz..! (giving then problems with the newest LTE spectums..)
If your source media in interlaced, ask why! And stop shooting interlaced.. ;-)
If you have interlaced video, make sure you apply the DeInterlace setting when you import and transcode it. -
I have an iPhone 5s and i've been noticing that my phone would go into Do Not Disturb mode at night. So I looked under settings, and there was a profile labeled "Consumer Input" and then I noticed DND was set for 10pm-7am. Does anyone know what caused it?
You downloaded a profile from somewhere. If it's not one you want or need, delete it.

I'm in cycle mode, and 'merge' is clicked in preferences. However, when I record, my previous track data keeps getting overwritten. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong. Interestingly, I can still see the data in the region.
