I am using an old CRT display, can I NARROW the aspect so I don't have to scroll rightwards?
Almost every website flows over the edge of the available visual field on this old monitor, so I must scroll to the right simply to see the whole field. I realize that this is for the newer, wide-aspect ratio displays, but isn't there a way to automatically narrow the field to fit my screen? I will try to change my display settings, but that will make the type much smaller, I think.... Take care, and thanks, DAVID

Some websites still display fine with 1024x768, but a lot require a wider monitor to avoid scrolling horizontally.<br />
If you have less than 1024x768 then you should consider buying a LCD monitor.<br />
An LCD screen is probably much cheaper then what you have payed for the CRT screen and is also much easier for the eyes (pixels are one to one and no flicker).

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

You probably have an older version of iOS, possibly iOS 4. That's why you don't see Software update under Settings, General.
All you have to do in this case is update iTunes to the latest version, connect the iPhone to your computer and update to iOS 6. At that point you can update future iPhone 4's firmware directly on the phone. -

How can I get the pages to fit in the screen so I don't have to scroll sideways on every line?
I'm using WindowsXP and I recently downloaded Firefox 3.6.8, and now almost everything I view has to be scrolled sideways to be read. I'm not particularly computer savvy, but I was able to figure it out on the other browsers I've used. I've tried a lot of things, nothing has worked, and I'm getting so frustrated that I'm considering going back to one of the other browsers, even though in every other I greatly prefer Firefox. Please help! Thanks.

Are you sure that you have the Mac version, as there is a Windows version, as well as a few game console versions.

How can I change the aspect ratio of an image display
I am snapping a sequence of images and using imgPlot to diplay the images. However, due to my camera specifications [it's a Pulnix 9701 with Pixel Size 11.6μm (H) X 13.3μm (V)], the image I get displayed is elongated in the horizontal direction, i.e. if I snap an image of a square, I get a rectangle on my computer display.
How can I change the aspect ratio of the display on my computer? The only parameters I have seen so far just control what portion of the image is acquired or diplayed, but none actually changes the aspect ratio.
Thanks in advance for any help.If you are using an analog camera, you can set the aspect ratio in MAX. This will correct for non-square pixels.
If you are using a digital camera, I don't think there is a way to fix it during acquisition. You could resample the image to correct the ratios, but that would be a slow, time consuming process.
One other possibility is that your computer monitor is in a mode which is not a standard 4x3 configuration. For example 640x480 and 800x600 are 4:3 ratios. 1200x1024 is not, which tends to distort your displayed images.

Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
