  • What type of encryption is using in Oracle Application (EBS)?

    Dear all,
I am using oracle application version 11.5.8 and the oracle database version is
9.2.0.4. When I am login the oracle application, what type of encryption is?
    How can I know?
    Best Regards,
    Amy

    As standard? None.
Are you talking about password encryption in 11.5.8 ? It's a reversible encryption algorithm.
Are you talking about the network layer? Only if you've setup to run https mode.

  • When trying to update applications, where can you find an account you used to purchase the application?

The App Store has had the little red notification saying I have two new updates to download, for iPhoto and iMovie, but when I go to download them it says "please log into the account you used to purchase the application." I am not sure which account this would be, as I have only had one account on my computer since I purchased it from the Apple Store online.
    Please help.
Also, a side note not related to this issue: I have been having problems with system preferences as well, when trying to change the background image the rainbow starts spinning automatically and then it becomes unresponsive.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, I suppose that you bought a brand-new Mac, right? If not, you won't be able to update iPhoto and iMovie, because they are registered to another Apple ID.
If you have a brand-new Mac, first try this > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4236 If it doesn't work, check that iPhoto and iMovie aren't hidden on your account, so unhide them > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928 After doing this, try updating iPhoto and iMovie again.
If nothing works, contact with the App Store support > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact
Respecting to your second problem, your Desktop settings file is corrupted. To fix it, follow these steps:
    1. While you are on Desktop without any application opened, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences.
    2. Delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart

Everytime it is the same method that crashes the application.
Since this is running against a RAC installation, I prefer to use Thick driver for failover-purposes.
    1. Any ideas of why this crashes ?
    2. Should I try to upgrade the driver, and if yes, how should that be accomplished.
(Should I just install the newest available classes12.jar for this client ?)

    Hi!
Thanks for the reply. I used the word 'stack-trace' which is not correct, sorry.. :)
    But what I see is that the current java-thread is always in the same method;
    Current Java thread:
    at oracle.jdbc.oci8.OCIDBAccess.get_column_count(Native Method)...
    ..which is the oci8 driver.
This is an OAS installation, and I would guess that is isn't too easy just to upgrade to the last JDK, since this jdk used is a part of the total installation.
Do you have any other suggestions of how to pinpoint in greater detail what actually goes wrong here ?
Is it possible to upgrade only the oci8 driver (if this is the faulty one..) ?
    Thank you!

  • I accidently erased iphoto from my applications, where can I download another copy for my iMac 10.6.7?

A friend of mine was trying to get pictures from iphoto to flicker and somehow erased iphoto from my applications. How can I redownload iphoto to my iMac 10.6.7?

You cannot download it however it should be on the original Install Discs that came with your computer so you can re-install from there. If can't locate those then can use your Time Machine backup to restore Time Machine. Finally if you simply trashed it then look in the Trash and use the Put Back function.

  • Using v10.5.8 Where can I get v10.6 Snow Leopard?

I'm currently using Mac OSX 10.5.8 and want to upgrdae to Mountain Lion but need Snow leopard first.
Can anyone tell me where I can get Snow leopard from?

Before you buy anything, first make sure your Mac is compatible.
Minimum specs for Snow Leopard.  Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard -          Read the Technical Specifications
Once you've upgraded you will need to apply the Combo updater for Snow Leopard.          Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
Remember to repair permissions both before and after each upgrade /update
You can no longer buy Snow Leopard from Apple retail, only as follows.  If you are in North America ...
Buying Snow leopard from Apple.        Last I read, you must call them (1-800-MY-APPLE). It is $29 plus tax for family pack and $19 plus tax for a single.
Based in Europe or otherwise call your National Apple Helpline … http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
You should also check the minimum specs for Mountain Lion. Apple - OS X Mountain Lion          Read the technical specifications.

  • Firefox accelerated release schedule is causing compatibility problems with our intranet applications - where can I find the plan of this schedule including support termination dates?

We are a university use an in-house developed e-Learning application which makes use of a rich-client framework (ZK - www.zkoss.org). For reasons of compatibility with this application, as well as other general factors, we have standardized on FF 3.6 as the browser for all our desktops. We normally review our browser selection once per year and make compatibility changes/upgrades to the 3rd-party libraries we use, and our own code, in order to keep up with new developments in the browser market.
However FF's new release policy makes our life verify difficult. FF 6 came out only a few months after FF 5. For us to perform an upgrade we have to perform a systematic series of tests, adjustments, changes to regression tests etc. Due to the cost is not feasible for us to do this every 3 months! Therefore please can someone point us to a clear release plan for FF which shows, for each version:
    a. Release date
    b. End-of-support date
    c. Release notes
    d. Compatibility in terms of HTML and Javascript/ECMAScript versions.

    https://wiki.mozilla.org/RapidRelease/Calendar <br />
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases
New versions are going to be released every '''6 weeks''', so until Mozilla announces what they are going to do as far as support for an LTS version for enterprise "customers", you guys are left swinging in the breeze as far as being able to plan for the future with Firefox. I think that until that decision is made, support for Firefox 3.6 versions will continue. A 3.6.22 release is being worked on right now, probably for release this coming week.
As far as support termination dates, as each new version is released support ends for the previous version, except for 3.6.x. Currently Firefox 3.6.x and 6.0.x are the only versions which are getting security updates. Firefox 4.0 and 5.0 aren't "supported" any longer.

  • Where can I find/set these pref from my users

I have 2 things I cant seem to find where they are set.
I want to have Adobe Acrobat be the default reader for PDF's.
Each user has the same three folders. I want them to open in the same spot on the screen everytime.
I know how to set these things manually for each user but I can't find what preference I need to add or modify in WGM to get these to apply to my workgroup.

Thanks, this was one of the fields I couldn't find.  I called my son in Calif. and he talked me through it--about 15 steps!  But you are right, this was one of them!  Thank you.  This is my first time using
"discussions"and I hope I can find you again!   I'm not sure how to reply on the "reply" icons.
