iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

They will only be where you put them.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

What I was missing was to select Apps icon . (before i did this it only shows all what's in your library and you can't select any of them.)
When I did this a list of all my apps in my itunes library came up on the left hand side. The app icon pictures were in view and also a tab saying install . I was able to select what I wanted .
when I click them the tab said installing
I checked my iphone It showed them. also the bar in itunes shows a striped bar indication how long they will take.
wait until this bar as completed before disconnecting the wire.

We share one computer (Mac - powerbook) in the household. We have an Itunes set up with two libraries (so we can manage our own ipod playlists, etc.). On occasion we want to move a copy of a song over to the other's library (cause they like the song too). What is the easiest way to do this?

If you are using multiple libraries within the one Mac User account then use the File>Add to Library option and locate the song in whatever folder you keep your music in (possibly the iTunes Music folder). Simply add the song to whichever library you are in from whatever folder the song is located in.

Choose Consolidate Library from the Library section of the File menu, copy the iTunes folder(not just iTunes Music) to an external drive, put that folder on the new computer, launch iTunes with the Option key held down, and point it to that library. Alternatively, back it up to CDs or DVDs and restore the backup on the new computer.

When you are writing the email, you attach the song file to the email the same way you would attach a photo or a document.
If you don't know where to find the song file, right-click the track in iTunes and choose "Show in Finder."

If you're talking about the built-in Mail on the ipad - you will always see the mailbox list in landscape view (ie turn your ipad sideways). In portrait view, you should be able to see the Inbox link at the top left of the screen if it's hidden.
