Today, i attempted to update my iPod (4th Gen) to iOS 6 on my computer. When it was updating it came up with an error, it then asked me to restore my iPod which i did. During this process it came up with another error. Now, everytime I turn on my iPod, it asks me to connect to iTunes. When i do this, it connects to the computer but doesnt show up in iTunes. How do i fix this?

Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software.

  • Updated Ipod 4th gen to iOS 6.1.3

I updated my Ipod 4th gen to iOS 6.1.3 but after the installing the new iOs my ipod stopped working. Now, it's just showing/blinking the apple logo. Help! What happened?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How do I update ipod 4th gen to ios 7 to use aple tv?

Received an aple tv device for christmas.  It says it can be used with ipod 4th gen or laterf but I can't update the ios on the ipod to ios7.  Please help!

Apple TV only works with bluetooth keyboards, the pairing with IOS is only for setup purposes and requires 5th gen iPod Touch anyway.
You can use basic airplay to stream content through apps (if the developer has enabled it)

  • Good morning i bought a ipod touch 4th gen on iOS 5.1.1 it was updated on itunes for some reason how do i do a restore to get it back to 5.1.1  thanks

i just bought an ipod touch 4th gen it came with iOS 5.1.1 it was updated to iOS 6.0.1 why cant i restore it to the iOS that it came with?i think buying the ipod i should have the freedom to try an iOS and if we are noot pleased we can go back to the previois one, is there any way that can be done? thanks

No update is ever forced on you. It's always the user's option to accept and install the update or not, which you apparently did. As John said, there is no supported way to go back to an earlier version of iOS, and that's been the case since the first iOS-based device came out these several years ago. If you want to comment to Apple on the issue, you can do so via their feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
but I don't expect Apple to change, and almost certainly not in the near future. If you search the web, you'll find instructions that may work for downgrading, but you're on your own should any problems arise. For many people it goes without problems, but for some it's reportedly bricked their devices.
    Regards.

  • Updated Ipod 4th Gen to IOS 6 but now Itunes tells me to restore Ipod and that data could be lost should i restore, it will not let me do anything until i restore

I have an Ipod 4th Generation just now updated to IOS 6 thru Itunes, says update complete but now it tells me to restore the Ipod and data would be lost. I can not do anything till I restore Ipod and I am worried about losing games, music and other apps. Do I restore Ipod and will I lose games and music?

Do you have a current backup of the content of your iPod? If not restoring will remove Apps and their data. The Apps can be replaced at no charge but the data will be lost.

  • Once a song is downloaded onto my ipod (4th gen.) how can I delete it when I no longer want it?

Once a song has been downloaded onto my ipod nano 4th generation, is there anyway to remove it, deleting it from my ipod?

    Yes.
How you delete content from your iPod depends on how it is set up to receive content from your iTunes library whether that be via automatic syncing or manual management.
For automatic syncing, you must reconfigure your settings so that the album/tracks/content you wish to remove is no longer configured to sync to your iPod.  For example, if the Sync only checked songs and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab, make sure all the tracks for this album do NOT have a tick mark next to them in your iPod.  Then resync your iPod with iTunes.
If that isn't the case, you'll want to look at the iPod's Music configuration tab.  You can access this tab by selecting your iPod under Devices. This should bring you to the Summary tab over to the right.  Look for the Music tab along the top and select it.  Here you can configure how and what music syncs to your device.  If you make any changes to this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to sync the updated changes to your device.
Otherwise, if you manually manage your iPod's contents, you must manually remove content from it.  You can do this by plugging your iPod in and clicking the small black triangle next to your iPod from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.  This will open up a submenu of content that is indented underneath the name of your device, so go ahead and click on Music (or whatever content you are wanting to remove).  Locate the track or tracks/content you wish to delete. Highlight them and hit the Delete key or choose Edit -> Delete.

  • HT1766 iPod 4th Gen running ios 6.1.5 how to remove restrictions passcode

One of the kids has accidentally input a "Restricitons" passcode on this iPod.
I have done a factory reset and back up from iTunes but this hasn't worked at removing the RESTRICTIONS.
I'm now at hourly guesses to try and randomly work out the code but this will take a lifetime!
Suggestions please - and they need to be for a non-techy.
It is set to sync to iTunes via cable.

    Forgotten RESTRICTIONS Passcode
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod. . Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
    - If you are up to file manipulation see the following but it may not work for iOS 6.1.3 or iOS 7

  • I wanted to do un up-date on my iPhone 4s, but it said an error occurred and it said i have to restore it and lose all my data. I just want my phone back, no up-date, with all my pictures. Please, can i do this??

I do not want to restore my phone!

If by 'un up-date' you mean you want to go back to a previous version you can't as its not supported by Apple.
As for the error message what did it say?
If you didn't make a backup before doing whatever it is you are trying to do then your photos are likely lost.

I replaced the hard drive to a 30gig on my Ipod 4th gen. click wheel but it is still not recognized on my computer or in itunes......I get an error message with a folder and "!"....what can I do to fix??

Have you recharge the battery for at least 2 hours, or just leave it connected for 4 hours?
(When you replaced the Hardisk, you should also replace the battery.)
Some other iPod SSD sites, says that you may have to format the CF in FAT32, as Mac dont read NTFS drive so if Windows is the 1st PC that your CF is connected, it may be formatted to NTFS.
You can try erasing the CF using Disk Utilty, so that Mac can recognise it. (but not Windows)
