I backed up my ipod touch 5 to my computer

I backed up my ipod touch 5 to my computer. My itunes got erased while updating my computer to windows 8. Then I downloaded itunes with another email, so would my data be still saved on my computer. Data- Pictures

Sort of.Apps are locked to the account that purchased them. Use the same Apple IS you used before.
Restore from backup.
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Hmm, well... iTunes trys to activate your iPod using the Apple server to make sure you have bought it legit.
Two things come into my mind:
    1) Your iTunes can't access the internet.
    2) Apples activation servers are down.
That's just my cents, maybe anyone else has an idea.

I got a new computer and backed up my iTunes library to an external hard drive.  The external hard drive is not allowing me to access the drive.  I no longer have access to the old computer.  Is there a way to transfer the songs from my iPod touch to my new computer?

That's a bummer, didn't realize the exHD files were corrupt, esp if you have tried from another PC and not just this new computer.
You can get purchases from the itunes store transferred from an iPod using these directions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848?viewlocale=en_US
If you want everything (meaning non-itunes songs, app data, photos, etc) you need to buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that support iTouch. Here is an iLounge article to start your research:

    Hello mig04,
While looking into the issue you are experiencing I came across some helpful information. In an article called iCloud: Troubleshooting creating backups found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3992 there are a number of steps to help get your issue resolved.
    General troubleshooting
    General information
iCloud Backup requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet.
Automatic backups occur when you've plugged in your iOS device, locked the screen, and have connected it to Wi-Fi.
You can manually start a backup by tapping Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup (requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet).
iCloud Backup will provide helpful information and status messages related to backups at the bottom ofSettings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
If automatic backups don't work as expected, test to see what happens when you start a manual backup by tapping Back Up Now at the bottom of the Storage & Backup screen.
Backups and restores both take time, especially if you have a lot of data or a slow connection. Depending on the size of your data and the speed of your network, you may need to give more time than you expected to a backup or restore.
Make sure you have at least 50 MB of free space available on your iOS device before you back up. If you have no space available on your device, iCloud Backup can fail in some cases. You can verify how much free space you have available on your iOS device in Settings > General > About.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Lost all my music on my iPod touch. Now I can't reload it from my computer because it states that it is in the cloud. How do I get my music back on my iPod touch so I can listen when I'm out of wifi range.

I was trying to fix the "ghost" songs on my ipod touch 4th generation today. Somehow I ended up deleting all my songs from the touch. Now when I try to get them back from my computer it states that they have to be downloaded from the icloud first. Don't know how to do this or why I can't just drag and drop the music from the computer back onto my ipod touch.

    Follow the instructions here:

a while ago i backed up my ipod touch 4g and yesterday it was acting up so i restored it and it deleted ALL of my pictures so can anyone help me to get them back?
    currently running iOS 4.3.5

If you restored from backup all the photos in your camera roll that were in the backp should be restored to our iPod.  However, photos that are synced to the iPod are not in the backup. You will have to resyc them to the iPod.  If the synced photos are no longer on the computer then the photos are lost.

  • Syncing keeps backing up my iPod touch

When I install new application, movie, or music, my mac keeps syncing by backing up my iPod touch everytime. Is this normal or can I change something in the preference.

Yes, I was going to post a question regarding backups. Having had a Palm and using backup software (not the regular sync operation), I was wondering about the iPod Touch. I did notice that it says something like "backing up iPod" during a sync, but do we need more robust backup software? For example, if some app corrupts its data, can we restore just that data file, or the app with data? Or do we do a full restore - and if so, how is that done?

  • How do i get all the music that i purchased back on my ipod touch 3rd generation?

how do i get all the music that i purchased back on my ipod touch 3rd generation?

    Back from where?
    Where did it go?
It should all be on your computer and included in your regular backup copy of your computer.
    Sync it back.

  • Camera on back of my iPod Touch 4 has stopped working, what's happened?

The camera on the back of the iPod Touch 4G (The one on the silver metallic side) has stopped working completely. The front facing one still works.
Please help. I have had many problems with the iOS software, and I am getting frustrated!
    Regards,
    Alex.

Have you tried the standard fixes:
    - Reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problems persist restore to factory defaults/new iPod
    - If problem still occurs make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.  If so, they will give you a replacement under your warranty.

  • Can I Gold Plate the back of my iPod Touch?

If i can gold plate the back of my iPod Touch how much would it cost?

Here's one company in the UK:
    http://www.appletattoo.com/touch-ipod-gold-plated-iphone-gold-plated-ipod-gold-p lating-iphone-gold-plating-gold-ipod-gold.html
Note that plating like this will almost certainly void your iPod's warranty.
I'd suggest you just buy a skin for your iPod. It might not be quite as snazzy as having your iPod gold-plated, but it will be a lot easier and almost certainly a lot less expensive, and won't affect your warranty.
    Regards.

  • I accidentally backed up my ipod touch data onto my iphone.

i got a new iphone and wanted to sync it to my computer and accidentally backed up my ipod touch data onto my iphone and now i have all my ipod data and settings on my iphone. how do i undo this?

Restore the device from a previous backup.  Or, if it's new, then Erase All Content & Settings and set up as new again.
Are you wanting to have two separate setups for the devices?  I'd recommend using two separate Apple IDs then, but be advised, you can't transfer purchases between Apple IDs.

  • Glue a router to the back of an ipod touch and call it an iphone?

This may seem like a stupid question but is it possible to glue a portable battery powered wi-fi router to the back of an ipod touch so you can surf the web anywhere? That would be awesome!

    Axel Foley wrote:
A WiFi router is going to need an internet signal from an access point somewhere therefore taking a router around will not help. You would be just as good as one without having a router at that point.
What you would need is a portable access point which gets its signal from a satellite such as the one mentioned above and that is the Verizon MiFi. It will act as an access point and a router allowing up to three connecions simultaneously. It is $59.99 per month.
    Axel F.
FYI the Verizon MIFI uses localized cell phone towers to connect to the internet and not Satellites.

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
