I backed up my itunes files to disk on my cpu and then I bought a new computer when I went to transfer the files I found that all the disks were blank. Is there anything I can do now

I backed up my files on dvds before buying a new computer. When I went to tranfer teh files onto my new cpu the dvds were blank. Is there anything I can do to get my files back. Oh and I live in Canada.............

It would probably work if the thumb drive was still connected when you tried to play the song.
Go to iTunes preferences Advanced tab. There is a checkbox for Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library. If that checkbox is not checked, iTunes adds songs to your library but links to the song file from where it was added (which would be on the thumb drive). When you disconnect the thumb drive, iTunes says "the original file cannot be located."
If this is the reason for your problem, check that checkbox. You may also want to check the other checkbox for Keep iTunes Media folder organized, if it's not checked already.
With the thumb drive NOT connected, remove all of the songs you recently added from the iTunes library. Then, connect the thumb drive and add the songs again, like you did before. This time, iTunes will make of copy of the song files and put them in the iTunes Media folder.

It is not showing on the Desktop or the left colomn of Finder (Set to do both in Finder Prefernces) and is not showing up under the Disk application under Utilities (Sorry can't remember the name off the top of my head!)

You should be able to read NTFS formatted drives, just not write to them. For that matter, USB Flash drives generally come formatted NTFS for use with PC's and they have to be able to mount on a Mac in order to reformat them for Mac use. The Windows utilities supplied on those Flash drives will be deleted when the drive is reformatted for Mac use so I routinely copy them to the Mac desktop first before reformatting.

Just copy Users/yourusername/Music/iTunes (containing your library-files) to your external drive as well as that (extaernal) folder that contains all your audio-tracks.

this is a Family Sharing question. After we upgraded to family sharing, and I now have a new apple id, I find that all the documents on my iPad in pages, are only accessible if i sign in with the original apple id- now my husband's ( he is the primary account holder). Is there an easy way to migrate these documents to my iCloud account, or do i need to email them to myself . There are a couple of hundred documents.

No. I have tried twice. When I turn off pages in the iCloud settings while logged into his account, then my documents in pages just are gone. They return when I turn it back on.

Upgraded to 6.0.2 and all of my bookmarks were lost. is there anything I can do?

I have tried blog suggestions to get back my bookmarks but they were not clear as to which platform. I have a MacBook OS 10.5.8. None of the suggestions worked to bring back my bookmarks from the previous version of Firefox. A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Can I export my itunes movies onto an external hard-drive and then remove them from my computer, but still watch them when I plug in my external hard-drive?

I am running out of space on my macbook. What is taking up the most room is my movies. Can I put them on an external hard-drive and then watch them later after I remove them from my library?

On Windows, hold Shift (not alt), launch iTunes and select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder you copied to the external drive.

I did not get 3G, only WiFi. Is there anything I can do now to get 3G or similar capability.

Is there any way to add 3G, or something similar, to get that additional capability now? I heard that one company...Verizon?...had something but I am not clear about it. I find I do need 3G....now that I discovered that the wifi does not work on my deck. Or, can I get wifi extended to my deck? You don't mention how often you would need this capability. An iPad with 3G capability offers 'casual' 3G data service that you can purchase (weekly or monthly) with no long-term contract required.
Still, there at least two other options to use your iPad with 3G/4G besides exchanging it for a 3G model.
1) If you already have a smartphone with 'tethering' or 'personal hotspot' capability, such as an iPhone 4 or an Android smartphone (and pay an additional monthly fee for tethering capability), you can connect your iPad to your smartphone.
2) You can also purchase a handheld 3G/4G 'portable hotspot' from a cell phone provider. This device is battery powered and allows you to connect up to 5 WiFi devices. Some service providers require that you also purchase a two-year data contract (like a smartphone), but VirginMobile (and probably others) offer prepaid service and no long-term contract.

I normaly use the zoom feature with Facebook in order to more easily be able to read and see. I like how the entire page zooms in. Recently, however, the zoom started reseting every time i click myself from any page on Facebook to any other. The zoom simply won't save at all, it just resets to the default value.
